What can I say? Except, Awwwww! Short and sweet, and oh, oh so cute. While there's certainly no shortage of high school fics, I can't recall ever coming across something like this, a brief narrative from Inuyasha's point of view revolving around their first date, and nothing more. This is really well done. I like how he's neither overly confident because all the girls throw themselves at him, nor is he self-loathing because the world around him spends its pastime shunning hanyou. He's nervous for the same reason any other guy in his shoes would be nervous, and there isn't anything else added in on top of that. Even though he is hanyou, he's just another normal high school student, and he even knows that that's how Kagome sees him too, as another person, just like anyone else. Race doesn't play an issue at all, yet you still were able to toss in the bit about her playing with his ears. Nice touch. And his claws became a factor when he botched the arm-stretch move, though Kagome didn't seem to mind, and it had to have been obvious what he'd been attempting to do. You know, if you want to leave this completely stand-alone and move on from here I totally understand, but…I wouldn't mind seeing a companion piece…the whole thing recapped from Kagome's point of view, perhaps? Just, you know…if you wanted to. :-)
