Ah-hah...enter Kagome. The plot thickens. I remember one movie...years ago...where a man and woman met and fell in love in the 'rehabilitation' facility of the after life, but they were going to be separated because she earned the right to move on into 'heaven' or whatever but they were going to make him go back and be reincarnated because he hadn't reached whatever you're supposed to achieve yet. Of course he fought them and at the last second basically ran and jumped onto the bus that was shuttling people away to heaven, and they ended up letting him go, because I guess proving he would do whatever it takes for love was the final test all along...or something. I don't think it was the movie you referenced, and I don't think I've actually seen Wristcutters - in this other movie neither of them had died via suicide - but I am really looking forward to seeing where you take the plot of this story. Every 'suicide' Inu story I've ever come across is told from the perspective of the people still living, not from the perspective of the person who died, and their experiences after suicide. I've always been interested in the whole 'suicide' kind of fanfics. Call me crazy, but it's a relief to see someone taking on such a controversial topic. Interesting concept. I've seen a couple of movies over the years that have had the whole 'waiting room / business office' feel to the afterlife, but I've definitely never seen anything like that done in an Inu fic before. I encourage you to write more, I would be interested to see where you go with this. |
