I have no idea what chapter I last read. The story is a bit heavy on the introspection for me, but was interesting none-the-less. I hope that Kagome can make a difference in the world, in the same timeline. I love that you have allowed Kagome to be able to change forms. That is so awesome! I'm sure Sesshoumaru will have a great time chasing her. Can't wait to see if she has other powers. Sorry if I miss doing some reviews elsewhere, but my brain is in bad shape right now. | Reviewed By: SplendentGoddess [MediaMiner Member] On: November 28, 2011 05:27 EST Rating(s):Enjoyment Factor: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: Wonderful update! Looks like Kagome's going to find herself mated before too much longer...and Inuyasha too, from the look of things. I really like the way everything played out in this chapter, Inuyasha coming to terms with the fact that Sesshoumaru's intentions toward Kagome are honorable, gaining his inheritance, and coming into himself as a Lord in his own right. The female he's chosen, I liked her the best too from the beginning because she had the guts to ask Sesshoumaru about Inuyasha's strength, which I'm sure was your intention, singling her out as the right choice. She had just better take Kagome's threat to heart because even though this is a Sess/Kag fic nobody hurts Inuyasha and gets away with it. That's why I'm okay with this particular Sess/Kag, because you didn't hurt Inuyasha in the process. I'm sure he and his new female will be just fine. And I'm sure Kagome will be more than fine once Sesshoumaru deems his brother is 'settled' so that he can then get settled. *wink* Good job, keep it up! | Reviewed By: Sesshoumaru'sPriestess [MediaMiner Member] On: August 26, 2011 01:48 EDT Rating(s):Originality/Creativity: 10 of 10 Enjoyment Factor: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: THIS STORY SO FAR IS SO EPIC AND DELICIOUS AND I HAVE TO HAVE MORE. I loved Sesshoumru's home setup, Kagome's reactions, the sensuality, and the whole thing about Inuyasha. I also have to say that the flow was much better than your other updates. I had wondered if you'd written the others quickly because of time constraints. This chapter flowed so well, so much like your usual writing. It was beautiful! I hope you're okay. *hugs* ^_^ | Reviewed By: SplendentGoddess [MediaMiner Member] On: August 12, 2011 00:13 EDT Rating(s):Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: Yay, you updated! And what an update! There's really not all that much left, it feels like, except tying up some loose ends, and of course getting to the good stuff, ;-). I really liked Sesshoumaru's castle in the sky, and the whole chapter, really. The conversation at the end between her and Inuyasha was also good. I'm glad she didn't pussyfoot around and decided to immediately get down to business. Inuyasha had already thought that he would step back and let Kagome be happy if he could be sure Sesshoumaru was honestly serious, and well, nothing is more serious than the 'M' word. Inuyasha knows damn well what that means, so knowing that Sesshoumaru wants to mate Kagome kind of takes away his need to worry about the daiyoukai breaking her heart in the end. And speaking of her heart, it's funny that you brought up the 'L' word right when my thoughts naturally traveled into that direction. Good writer's intuition! I was actually thinking along similar lines as Kagome, that I could just see how some people would think she should be all, "But...do you love me?" as if she needs to hear the words to make it real. But Sesshoumaru is a full-blooded inu-youkai, and he very well may not love her in the way a human would comprehend the emotion; that doesn't mean he doesn't care. The proof is in the pudding...not sure where we got that expression originally, but the analogy fits. Actions speak so much louder than words, after all. Over all, great job! Super looking forward to the next chapter! | Reviewed By: SplendentGoddess [MediaMiner Member] On: June 13, 2011 12:32 EDT Rating(s):Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: Good update! I think you handled the meeting with the kami perfectly, and for the most part all of our questions about Kagome have been answered. I also really liked that bit you tossed in with the Inu no Taisho. It seems like, for the most part, Sesshoumaru will endeavor to be satisfied with whatever knowledge he now has on the subject. Now we're back to the good stuff, such as Kagome being a flustered girl and not realizing Sesshoumaru is actually interested in her that way. I'm glad you showed Inuyasha's thoughts, that he would back down and allow Kagome her happiness with Sesshoumaru if he could just be certain that Sesshoumaru honestly wanted her and didn't plan on throwing her away after taking his pleasure. I can't really say I blame Inuyasha for his paranoia given Sesshoumaru's track record combined with how much of an ass Sesshoumaru always was to him. But like I said before, I'm super glad you haven't made Inuyasha a bad guy in this one, that he broke Kagome's heart with Kikyou or some other such BS. I can deal with this kind of Sess/Kag story, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. Keep up the awesome work! :-) | Reviewed By: SplendentGoddess [MediaMiner Member] On: May 15, 2011 09:07 EDT Rating(s):Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: Yay! Wonderful update; you may say not a lot happened, but I think a LOT of ground was covered in explaining things, both to Sesshoumaru and to us. Poor Inuyasha is just going to have to get over his fondness for Kagome, at least to the extreme that it pisses Sesshoumaru off, though it does look like all Inuyasha wants is what's best for Kagome. Once Kagome realizes Sesshoumaru is actually interested in her and reveals her own desires more openly, Inuyasha will allow the union, I'm sure. I like that Inuyasha hasn't been made into a bad guy in this one as is the case with so many Sess/Kag fics, and I also like that you mentioned in passing there could be a potential female inu available for him to mate, should one of them be willing to accept him. Sess/Kag is not really my cup of tea, but this one is just so freakin' interesting that there's no way I can walk away without seeing it through to the end. I'm almost as curious as Sesshoumaru is! LOL, so keep up the awesome work! Fabulous story line. I'm excited to know if Mrs. Higurashi truly is Kagome's biological mother. If not, then who really is? Lol. I wake up every morning, nowadays, because I have a reason for living: Fanfiction. Haha. | Reviewed By: SplendentGoddess [MediaMiner Member] On: March 27, 2011 22:43 EDT Rating(s):Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: In the canon it's revealed, more or less, that the well really was reacting to her feelings. Perhaps not actually on a conscious level, but she hadn't been ready to go back, and perhaps that fear had also been what'd kept Inuyasha from coming into her world. It had been her realization that her need-to-do's were done and that she truly longed to be in Inuyasha's world again that had opened the well, but you're right, nowhere was it explicitly written that it was a one-way trip. She had wanted to be with Inuyasha again (or Sesshoumaru, as is the case in this universe) but simply going back through the well to be with / see that person again wouldn't automatically mean she was locked away from her family. If her desire had truly been merely for the well to again be open as it had previously been, allowing her to again go back and forth, then the idea that Kagome can still pass through the well at will makes perfect sense. It also makes perfect sense that Sesshoumaru would be able to go with her. He probably has enough power to go through the well by himself, but even if Kagome's presence were required, we already know that other youkai can pass through with her...Yura's hair coming to mind, as well as those dehydrated vegetables. If the well is controlled by her desire and she wants to show Sesshoumaru her world, then absolutely I think he would be able to pass through. This was a really good second chapter, and I love that doozy of a cliffy you just slapped us with with his blunt question to Kagome's mother. You're including evidence from the anime to make your case regarding Kagome's state of being, so since the anime also features a flashback of Kagome being born then I guess it's safe to assume that Mrs. Higurashi truly is Kagome's flesh and blood mother, but that doesn't diminish the possibility that she was still personally handcrafted by the gods. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next. While I don't think Kagome is really anything extraordinary along these lines in the canon, I am certainly not opposed to the idea of making her so in a fanfiction universe. One has to consider the movies as part of the canon, which is debatable, but if so, then you definitely make a valid point with Kaguya's interest in Kagome. Although Tsubaki also possessed reiki as a miko, and was able to absorb youki within herself to become a hanyou like Naraku, not to mention the way Kagome and Inuyasha have combined his Wind Scar and her arrows, indicating that reiki and youki can in fact merge together without automatically canceling each other out. And wasn't that trick with the disappearing arrow a result from the bow from Mt. Azusa? Hitomiko had said Kagome needed to use the bow's spiritual power, so I'd always chalked that one up to something the bow could do. BUT...I'm not criticizing your ideas. I really like what you're doing here, and you're right, Kagome exhibited waaaaaaaayyyyy too much power at the end there for a normal human miko. I think the reality of it is that Rumiko just got carried away trying to make her a superhero, but if you want to take that and make it fit, and figure out what Kagome really is based on the evidence given, I say go for it! Better to focus on those gaps and inconsistencies than the glaring temporal paradox Rumiko accidentally created in the beginning with that Noh mask that had carried a jewel shard for five hundred years into Kagome's time, LOL. I tend to politely ignore that mistake. While Kagome is debatable, Rumiko is only human. | Reviewed By: Snowfall [MediaMiner Member] On: March 19, 2011 13:22 EDT Comment/Review: This is really great! It asks the same question that I've asked my self. Sesshoumaru's question, asking what she was, had my mind plotting many things, but I know that a lot of people don't like a story turning someone into something other than what the manga portrays. I do know that the Japanese had recognized someone's status and occupation by the clothes they wore, and Kagome's were just not fitting any type. Still, it opens up a world of possibilities. I'm glad you're writing this and there is so much detail in just the first chapter. Can't wait for more1=! |
