"Consolation Prize" Reviews/Comments [ 2 ] | Reviewed By: sutlesarcasm [MediaMiner Member] On: August 21, 2011 03:12 EDT Comment/Review: It might help to remember that the Japanese (dont think I spelled that right) are the living defination of Angst. I have never seen a happy ending to any fables, stories, manga. movies...in fact, I think that giving InuYasha the ending she did, When Kag and Inu saw Sess flying overhead and she shouted out "Brother-in-Law", indicating that she and Inu had mated/married probably gave Takahashi severe diarriha. Happy endings don't teach lessons, and Japan stresses learning. They also hold the deepest respect for self sacrafice. That is where America comes in. We hold those things in high respect also, but we INSIST on happy endings. That's why we have people like you and Angelica, authors, to give us the happy endings we crave. We, your fans, want, you supply, and everyone, even those in Japan, are happy. They read and write fanfiction too, we're just better at happy endings. I hated that Takahashi wrote such a cop-out |
