A handful of new stories to read! I'm sure they'll all be as good as this one. I was surprised at first that you didn't go deeper with their relationship, but I like it. It diverged from the typical 'man falls in love with prostitute and buys/rescues her' storyline, like what happened in Samurai Champloo (don't know if you're familiar with that series). This story was more about accepting, then working to improve, your lot in life, whether you're an orphan hanyou or a young girl forced into prostitution. Keeping things somewhat superficial, while hinting at a possible deeper relationship down the road, made it seem more realistic. The lemon was great too; it was nice to see Kagome get some pleasure for a change. Oh, and I totally understand your problem with researching the rates of prostitutes of that era. I hate it when you really want to include a detail, but you can't because there's no data. If it makes you feel any better, I didn't notice the omission until you mentioned it at the end. Keep up the good work, and I'll try to get to your other new stories in the next few days. -KB | Reviewed By: RubyJewel [MediaMiner Member] On: August 10, 2011 02:40 EDT Comment/Review: Did I ever tell you that I freaken love you? No? Well, I freaken LOVE you! ;D Hahahaa... | Reviewed By: inuyashaloverr [MediaMiner Member] On: August 09, 2011 23:05 EDT Rating(s):Enjoyment Factor: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: I really and thoroughly enjoyed this piece of storytelling. For me? totally different, off the wall, and definitely didn't see this one coming, hehe. The small glimpse of a small Yash and his mother, along with the bits of how Yash and Miroku met? Awesome. Relevant without overwhelming the reader. I love small back stories at times; it gives one a glimpse of what all went on, ya know. Then later how he actually overcame himself on his most vulnerable nights to venture out, liquid courage not withstanding, hehe.. Without such, he'd might have never met Kagome. And though I really do enjoy all your works, and I really do, this one reminded me that I should review more often. For you pour your whole self into your writings, and I, for one, really do read, enjoy and appreciate your effort. And if you so happen to gather anymore ideas and take this one a tad bit further, well, I will definitely be reading (and reviewing!) that as well. :P Thanks so much for sharing! *hugzz* | Reviewed By: White Luna(nsi) On: August 09, 2011 13:53 EDT Comment/Review: Oh, and maybe if you.... just maybe... make this into a short story, that would only be all the more incredible ;). | Reviewed By: White Luna(nsi) On: August 09, 2011 13:52 EDT Rating(s):Style of Writing: 9 of 10 Spelling & Grammar: 8 of 10 Originality/Creativity: 9 of 10 Enjoyment Factor: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 9 of 10 Comment/Review: Dude. This fic was fantastic. I'm happy I added you to my favorite author's list. This was just awesome, I always enjoy the new stories you come up with--especially your one-shots. They're incredible. This was great and so original, I've never seen anything like this done before. I felt bad for Kagome at first but I liked how you handled the whole situation. And I love Inuyasha's way of helping Kagome buy her freedom. Even Kagome realized it and despite there being another way for him to help she didn't seem to mind. I liked how they were both thinking of what might come in the future. While I know that you ended this in the perfect spot I can't help but ask if we could one day see a glimpse of their life in the future once the debt is paid and Kagome is free. I would love to see where they all are at that point in time and if Miroku ever got Sango to come around. (If so what she would think of Kagome's situation or maybe at that point former situation.) I also loved how you showed how Inuyasha's life could have been different if he had had even one friend, about how different he could act. So I give you a 10 for a fantastic job and eagerly await whatever you decide to post next. | Title: Sweet and sad Reviewed By: too lazy to log in... On: August 08, 2011 17:38 EDT Comment/Review: For both of them to be such bittersweet characters takes a good deal of balance in the writing. I think you pulled it off, but I still feel so sad for how they came to be together. Well written. |
