I can appreciate on the surface that you have at least enough drive to want somebody else to push you - this is not an unknown concept because that is what trainers in a gym do, after all. But ultimately, the fundamental desire to write a fanfic has to come from within, especially when you're considering undertaking a longer project that will require completing at least a base outline of the plot from start to finish prior to writing/posting individual chapters. I also find it disconcerting that you showed so little consideration regarding the grammatical quality of your request. That's a little like presenting a poorly worded resume while applying for a columnist position in a news paper. What is there to show us you even have what it takes to be a writer? I'm not saying that you don't, but I want you to think about it from our perspective. I do believe, though, at least when it comes to artistic fields such as writing, that ultimately the desire and drive are most important, above natural talent. Grammar, spelling and sentence structure can all be learned if you possess the discipline required to work towards improving your ability in the craft you favor, but if your heart isn't in the fantasy aspect of writing fiction then your work will suffer in irreparable ways. Plainly speaking, if you aren't 'feeling' it, it shows, and while I take from this posting that you want to be a good fanfic writer, it also sounds to me like you don't - at this moment in time - truly feel that inner creative spark that would be needed. Otherwise you would not be asking us to come up with the plot concept for you. Since you did state, though, that in order to do what you truly wanted to accomplish it would first require you to continue watching through the seasons of the storyline you wish to take inspiration from, then I would suggest that you accomplish that task first. If you want somebody to kick your ass a little bit, I think that I can oblige in that regard. You BETTER sit your butt down and DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! You think your stories are just going to write themselves? *Slap* Now drop and give me twenty pages! Better? Honestly, don't try to force it, but I will suggest this: First, I do think you should go ahead and finish watching the episodes you need to watch if that is a genuine issue. Then once that's done, just sit down at the computer and try to think of footnote ideas. Don't try to just jump right into a story you don't have a direction for yet. Write it down as if you are chatting to a friend about your story ideas, like "Okay...have chapter one open on a youkai attack, and Kagome..." blah blah blah, insert details here. But write it down as notes to yourself, first. Trust me, it's much easier to come up with story ideas just to yourself when you aren't actually trying to write the actual story right then and there. And then later, you can go back through your footnotes to start writing the story itself with those as a reference guide, and you won't have to worry about writer's block because the underlying concept of the story's plot is already written. Good luck. :-) |
