Especially the way you have such a different take on the whole soul-mate thing. Most people go the soul-mate route on purpose, that they are linked together that way and that's why Kagome came back to be with him, even in some ways saying that his only attraction to Kikyou was because he'd subconsciously recognized the soul that 'would become' his mate even though Kikyou wasn't the right incarnation for him. But in a way, I love your way so much better. Kagome went back, as Kikyou's reincarnation, because only Kikyou could revive Inuyasha and she had to undo the damage she'd done, restoring him to life and killing Naraku. That's why she's Kikyou's reincarnation, but it has nothing to do with why she's destined to be with Inuyasha. It's very true that Kikyou wasn't the first incarnation, other people had to have had that soul before her, and Inuyasha, too, was probably other people in multiple past lives. So the heck what, right? Right now he is Inuyasha, and she is Kagome, and there's a reason why the kami wipe our memories every time, because every time we're supposed to start over as new and different people. So nicely put. I approve. :-) |
