I LOVED this story! It's one of the best stories I've read in forever, including mine! I thought they were exceedingly IN character given the parameters of the universe they live in, and it was crazy-authentic in the Japanese department, too. I mentally whistled to myself in a "Go Kagome!" kind of way at her correction of etiquette when she stressed the formal addressing of Inuyasha. That was a total 'in your face' moment and if some tweeny fangirls are too American to comprehend the nuances of the culture they supposedly idolize that is their problem, not yours. I mean, I couldn't believe Sesshoumaru said what he said about her missing the less formal ways of America. He practically called her a party-girl! But I can see him being pissed off since she'd reprimanded Touga first; open mouth, insert foot. On a side note, I also absolutely adored that you made Kagome a pianist. Sometimes when I listen to my soundtrack to 'O' by Cirque du Soleil I've envisioned Kagome and Inuyasha on stage, Kagome the one at the piano and Inuyasha with the cello, for track # 1. This little one-shot, it was like you plucked it right out of my imagination! Thank you for writing it! :-) |
