First, I would like to tell you that I accidently deleted this entire novel of a review once by accident and was terribly frustrated by my own stupidity but loved the story so much that I re-wrote it AGAIN. Because I love Mitch and your writing and this whole damn story. If I had a mountain, or a blog, or a blow-horn, I would definitely be spreading the word on just how awesome this damn story was. It was as though warm-bodies had been written into a less soppy, more adventurous, totally gay novel. And, since I loved warm-bodies (the movie), I can do nothing but love this story . . . even more than the movie. So much more than the movie. If this were ever made into a movie, I would watch it a hundred times over and never leave my house again. Seriously, not once did I ever feel lost within the story despite the fact that Mitch (as a zombie) seems to perpetually be lost. Now, typically, the reader can be lost while the character is lost due to general craziness within the descriptions, actions and character thoughts. Yet, I never had this problem. Even in the midst of zombie, mush-brain ditzy-ness, understanding and sympathizing with Mitch was no problem at all. I have to say, although I loved the entire story (so far), my favorite scene is definitely the scene in the store while they are first stocking supplies. I laughed so hard at the seemingly random (but oh-so-fitting) perverseness that is Mark. When he pulled open Mitch's pants to check for condom size, well - I was certainly rooting for him - but it didn't make me laugh any less. The dry, zombie humor of Mitch calling him a pervert was too good too. I cannot wait for more chapters to come up. Congratulations, dear writer, you have officially gained yourself a devoted smart-zombie/perverted-breather fan. I helplessly await your next update and pray for some good old fashioned Mitch/Mark fun. I saw that this had no reviews. I usually don't write them out but this story deserves it. It's very creative. I love how we see things from the zombie's perspective. You are very talented. I'm glad I decided to read this. Update soon, yeah? |
