"Crimson Tears" Reviews/Comments [ 2 ] | Reviewed By: icenectar [MediaMiner Member] On: June 12, 2004 09:03 CDT Comment/Review: I disagree. I've never seen Gojyo in a yaoi setting. I took the story idea from the fact that he was a womanizer and the show coupled with the haunting memories of red hair. The only other child of taboo mentioned in the series is a baby boy but it is genetically possible for a woman with red hair to be borne from demon and human blood. Would a woman be tormented more? I chose to theorize on the feelings Gojyo would have if he came in contact with such a woman. Red hair in the show symbolizes all sorts of things and he would most likely feel compelled to help her, plus take advantage of her simply because that's his nature. It's not a Mary Sue, but in fact an old story line where despite the rejection of the outside world two outcasts find commen ground and sanctity within each other despite overwhelming odds. The need to protect someone runs strong within Gojyo and it stems from his mother if one reviews the anime and it would consequently make sense that he would be compelled to protect another exactly the same as him for it is not the fault of either of them for the color of their eyes and hair but the degeneracy of the society itself.
