"Trauma" Reviews/Comments [ 12 ] | Reviewed By: jkBAKURA [MediaMiner Member] On: May 25, 2004 17:33 CDT Comment/Review: I cried, I admit it. And I sat through Titanic and Schindlers list without letting a tear fall. Paints a dramatic picture of what far too many might be familiar with. And what is more impressive, it raises the question, Is there a fate worse then death? I for one believe that there is, but that's beside the point. Dramatic but not overdone, this fic is definately wor th the read, in one sitting if possible. (splitting it takes away some of the emmotion) Beautifully done. I must say I'm impressed. A loyal Fan, JKB (P.S. This is so well done, it's actually scary. Don't tell if you feel the need, but is this something you or someone you know has had experience with?)

What Vegeta and Goku did to that bastard was only what he truly deserved. I thought they were going to pull off his dick or something, but in the end their brand of torture was better. | Reviewed By: Demetz [MediaMiner Member] On: June 25, 2003 11:50 CDT Comment/Review: I'd have killed him. Same as the last story I reviewed, different, but it's an ok different. Hell, the first time I read a yaoi I freaked out, now I'm a confessed yaoi fan, so I dunno, maybe this is the new trend?

The shame, the guilt, convinced that Tou'tan would despise him. I can only say that he is extremely lucky to have broken that mental barrier in two weeks. I know someone who still hasn't broken her barriers, having spent nearly a decade hiding the truth from her parents.
It is a sad, lonely experience that I wish no child ever had to go through, but the truth is, things like this happen, and people need to become aware of what to look for. Too many children are walking around with these burdens that will only manifest themselves later in life.
You're writing truly brought out the pain, the loneliness, and the hidden strength of an abused child, but it only hinted at the guilt that Vegeta, Goku, and Bulma must be feeling. I would love to read a story about how they cope with this, as not all pains can be drowned in work or sparring.
And I hope Sage has a chance at the effer. .\_/. | Reviewed By: Vega Obscura The King [MediaMiner Member] On: October 28, 2002 13:45 CST Comment/Review: hey...talon...as i said in my email to you, i was surpirsed i could read this. You better tell more after the **late night meeting with sage**...im not gonna say ne more for those of u that didnt read it, but plz write more, if only for me and a few other newly found devote sage fans...I have truly become one ;) (especially after the bonding ;) ))

Yeah. That's all.
I rarely give out 10s by the way. ^_^ Hm, Enjoyment factor? Well, it grips you by the nosehairs and won't let you go... that rates an 'enjoyment factor' if any story on this level can. | Reviewed By: Dark Serapha [MediaMiner Member] On: October 28, 2002 03:37 CST Rating(s):Style of Writing: 10 of 10 Spelling & Grammar: 10 of 10 Originality/Creativity: 10 of 10 Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: I am at a loss here. That was so intense that it had me crying. Your warning was fair and square, and I can just say to anybody reading this, if you love Sage as much as I do and if you can't cope with very dark things happening to him, you better not read this. Though it is written absolute exellent.
What shocked me most about the whole thing was how realistic it all was. Peple who have never been involved into things of such sort often wonder why the children never tell their parents. They miss to think about what this does to a child. Children depend on the love of their parents, and while in theory they should know that nothing will take this love away from them and that it's not their fault, those sadly clever bastards who molest children are very successful in planting little lies in their hearts, making them believe that it is somehow their fault.
Anyway, this was a truly motioning story, very deep and very heart moving. Actually I have just one thing I'd like to mention.
It is about the way Vegeta and Goku dealt with the problem. Of course you must have realized that Goku's part is probably a little bit OOC here, but I guess that he might resent to such brutal ways if something like that happened.
But instead of just torturing the man physically I would have liked some more psychical pain to be inflicted on that bastard. See, you wrote it yourself: Even with every bone broken in his body he still did not fully regret what he did. A twist to his mind might have better done the trick. He did not only do physical harm to poor Sage, what was probably much more worse was the Trauma and the psychic damage. So in my opionion he should have endured a similar Trauma (NO NOT WHAT YOU THINK NOW; YOU HENTAIS OUT THERE!!). And I was also thinking that Sage was probably not the first child he molested. So what about all the other kids? And I would have made it public somehow. They could have spared Sage from the publicity and still make it public, just for the sake of all those other children out there. Who says that that bastard didn't do it to another child as soon as he was fully healed? Even our favourite Saiyajin cannot have an eye on him always and forever. See what I mean?
You see, I wouldn't criticize you a little bit, if I hadn't really thoght pretty hard about this story. It made me very sad (though I was silently cheering Vegeta on in the end... I must admit it). I don't regret reading it and I think that you have incredible talent to write something like that in such a delicate way, so that it all seems somewhat realistic and frightening reasonable.
As always I stand in awe, though probably this time with more tears in my eyes then the last times. But if it was your intention to move the readers hearts, well, you've done a great job.
Thank you as always
Your's truly half fallen angel

PS: I have not rated this story for it's enjoyment factor because "enjoy" just does not seem a fitting term. Disturbing, yes, frightening, yes, even heart and sould wrenching, yes, but enjoying? No.. that somehow sounds wrong. | Reviewed By: Talon Sage [MediaMiner Member] On: October 28, 2002 09:38 CST Comment/Review: Ah my lovelies...
Re: Goku being OOC a bit...yes, for canon Goku he is a bit OOC, however for my universe he is right on character. Remember, he is mate-bonded with Vegeta, and parent-bonded with Sage. He is much more in touch with his Saiyjin side in my universe than in canon. Remember, they have tails. *grins*
As per them not going public with this, there are several reasons for that all of which I will not go into here because they are dealt with in later fics. But a very big thing is their need to make sure Sage has his chance at Burns. Also, Sage is the LAST child he molests. Again, this is dealt with more in later fics.
Thank you so much for your reviews, Serepha and manawolf...this was a VERY difficult fic to write, but it drove me, relentlessly. I literally ate, breathed and slept Trauma for about a month until it was finished. It is gratifiying to know I succeeded on some level.
*yawn* Damn koi, he woke me up too early this AM, so I am not as coherent as I would like...
Thank you once again.

I enjoyed your story especially the vengeance part. I'm against killing anyone, making them suffer is better. But I felt for what Sage went through not being able to tell anyone.
That type of pain will never go away no matter what you do. You can forget for awhile but when you atleast except it it comes to the surface when you don't want it to. | Reviewed By: tristar49 [MediaMiner Member] On: October 28, 2002 21:37 CST Rating(s):Overall Rating: 10 of 10 Comment/Review: Very well writtin and I was getting mad but the justice that Vegeta and kakarot did was good enough for me. this was a good written work |
