First, Melendril's half-Elven heritage is NOT something common in Middle Earth. In fact, it is something that has happened only twice (for full-blooded humans and Elves) to my knowledge (Beren Erchamion and Luthien Tinuviel, and Tuor and Idril Celebrindal; both in the Elder Days). Humans and Elves simply do not mate all that often. I've left Aragorn and Arwen off this list since both have significant amounts of human blood (and a smidgen of 'divine' Maia blood), being the progeny of the previous two couples. Also, the magic of Elves tends to run towards healing and the taming of beasts, not fireworks and battle. It also comes a bit in smithing, perhaps, but it's almost never used except in a very subtle manner. There is little written about Glorfindel, save his prophecy at Fornost that the Witch-King will not be slain by a man, so he may well be engaged. However, the fact that both he and Legolas (and a few hundred other Elves) loved Melendril is starting to sound the 'Mary Sue' alarm in my head. Grammar and spelling are good, except for a few small mistakes here and there.
