Overall, Melfina's Voyage seems to be an attempt to give Mel more depth than she got in the series. She was treated like an ornament or doll for 26 episodes, and this author decided to show that she has feelings and inner turmoil like anyone else.
Personally, the fic would be better if the writing style were smoothed out a little, but it's still a fun read.
