This is one powerful scene here at the end! It's like just who saw what? & I love it! As for those people who hate this chapter and/or for introducing Kikyou back into the mix. Let me say this to all of you. What you all forget & Kagome too, is that while once upon a time Inuyasha did love Kikyou, he doesn't now, or at least the love he feels for her isn't romantic love. For a while there he hated the bitch for what she did to him, then after a long talk with Miroku, where he sorted out his feelings, he realized, that while he does have feelings for her...it's more of a fondness & that the whole thing whether he's aware of it or not is tinged with guilt. He feels responsible for what happened to her. The reason he holds her every time they meet is beacuse they have a history together as well as the fact that what do most normal caring people do when comfronted by someone who's hurting? They touch them...he's merely trying to make her feel better. & I think both of them know he doesn't have the same feelings for her that he once did. This pisses off Kikyou & she the whole poor little me thing simply because she knows he loves Kagome now & she knows it bothers Kagome to see them together like that. Kikyou is pushing Kagome's buttons here. She has no feelings for Inuyasha other than how to bring him down to hell with her, not because she wants him there with her, but simply because if I can't have him, then nobody will. In another time and place Kagome would happily forgive him, because she knows that to be true. Or why else would she constantly forgive him? I don't think she's that stupid....But you all need to have faith in Inuyasha, he will do the right thing by her. She just feeling depressed somethiung neither she, nor Inuyasha I think, has picked up on. Remember she feels she can't go home to her mother which is probably where she wants to be, she feels huge and unattractive because he's went all cautious and chivalous on her...some guys just can't handle the idea that a pregnant woman can have sexual feelings... he sees her as a madona figure, something not to be touched. Kagome is doing her best to get him over that & Kikyou's arrival isn't going to help things, but she has to realize he in no way shape, or form finds her unattractive. But then again as someone around 16 from a time when body image is everything, being pregnant and the accompanying weight gain isn't going to do a lot for her self esteem. There's conflict here people real conflict, Nanda has done a wonderful job of making you care enough about Inuyasha, Kagome & the 'pup'that you all got upset with her. So rather than shoot her down in flames you should be applauding her talent as a writer! I know I for one do! Bravo Nanda! luv kira
PS: for the reviewer who thought this story was depressing...I don't know, it is & yet it isn't. Inuyasha really isn't a jerk & Kagome knows this. You have to look at his life for a minute here: Orphaned at the tender age of 5 he was left to raise himself, because his older brother was in no possition to raise him. He has his own issues to deal with & that has nothing to do with this story. Kikyou never really loved him either if you sit down & take a good look at that relationship. Because say what you will, if you love someone, you don't try to change them! Kikyou wanted Inuyasha to use the Shikon no tama to become HUMAN! She didn't love him for who is like Kagome. Inuyasha feels responsible & he's being what he feels is a man about it. Once he realizes what Kikyou is doing...and well we all know how dense he is & that's why we love him, he's not going to go running every time she appears... But in being deprssed about this chapter you're telling me Nanda did her job & did it right! Life as you stated isn't all chocolates & sakura blossoms! This story kicked in the gut like it was supposed to because it felt real! I think you should come back & read the rest of it! & That's for anyone else turned off by this chapter too! I've been lucky to read this before hand & I have to say I LOVED the fact that Nanda brought in Kikyou! It's exactly what Inuyasha & Kagome need! They always seem to grow closer each time she shows up. Actually they do that too when Sesshy shows up....(hint, hint) *laughs* so stop all the flames people, take a go look at the story again & I think you'll be applauding & standing alongside me when they hand out the awards for best fanfic to Nanda! | Reviewed By: Aisuru On: August 11, 2003 15:34 CDT Comment/Review: Good fic! Great writing! | Reviewed By: Julia On: August 11, 2003 20:30 CDT Rating(s):Style of Writing: 10 of 10 Spelling & Grammar: 10 of 10 Originality/Creativity: 10 of 10 Enjoyment Factor: 4 of 10 Overall Rating: 8 of 10 Comment/Review: Alright, I just want to start by saying that I've read all your fics (mostly on your web site), and I've liked them all a lot until this one. I made the enjoyment factor so low simply because this story depresses the crap out of me. And I mean that in the sense of I realize Inuyasha was/is in love with Kikyou in the manga/anime, but also in the manga/anime you get the sense that he loves Kikyou and Kagome, and he really can't choose, but he always goes to Kikyou out of regret and guilt. I know you don't need me to tell you any of this, it's just that, well, Inuyasha has basically ruined Kagome's life in this fic, and being the moronic jerk that he is, doesn't seem to have a bloody clue. She can't go back to her time with a quarter youkai child, she wants the child to have a father too, so she has to stay in the past, not to mention what her family thinks. So, she has no home except with him really, and she doesn't have him. She'll never no love unless it is with him, though, simply because of who the father of her baby is, not to mention the fact that she isn't married and that was looked on real well 500 years ago (sarcasm). She's tainted according to both humans and youkai, no one will want her, and apparently neither does the father. So for real family she basically has Shippou and the baby, and of course friends. But for all the love Kagome gives, she recieves almost none in return, and it just hurts to read. I realize this isn't the end of the fic, I don't know where you're going with it, and I know Kagome would sacrifice her happiness for Inuyasha's, letting him go with Kikyou if that's what he wants. But honestly, if it were me, even if he didn't decide to die with Kikyou, I'd seperate myself from him, letting my child have a father, but being honest with myself about the situation, and I wouldn't forgive him. He had sex with her, he knew the consequences, and as far as I'm concerned, I don't care who he is or isn't in love with, Kikyou is dead, it wasn't his fault, but he has ruined Kagome's *life*, and it is completely unforgivable. Unless he loves her, Kagome. But right now, he doesn't seem to, and that's kind of why I'm glad the manga/anime is a lot more innocent. Inuyasha in cannon would never have sex unless he loved the girl I think, and thankfully this situation isn't an option. Though crap like this happens all the time in real life. Like I said it's just painful to read. I hope you get this review and take my thoughts into account, because I'm not a Kikyou hater by any means, I pity her I suppose, but I do hate the idea of Inuyasha and Kikyou together at the end, and I hate what it does to Kagome. But if you end with Inuyasha and Kagome not together, I get it, I just want Inuyasha to know fully what he has done, the only good thing to come out of it will be the child, and above all, I want Kagome to find some sort of happiness, and I want her to find love, real love. I've gone off on a tangent, I don't blame you if you're annoyed, but I just wanted to tell you why this story bothers me, as realistic as I guess it could be. Thanks for your stories, you really are a wonderful writer, and I do enjoy them, this one just... hurts.
Arigatou :)

The way Kagome's sexual frustration starts boiling
over, and InuYasha is just barely hanging on to his
own libido, because he's afraid of hurting Kagome, and he finally learns he's been worrying over nothing, just had me rolling on the floor.
I applaud you also for making the two of them work for their relationship. While I believe the two do love each other, they have the greatest difficulties at times communicating. The fact that the villagers are by no means universally supportive of the couple is another point I like.
Not because I enjoy the angst, but it adds depth to the villagers, and is more realistic.
Traditionally, a Miko can only be a Miko if a virgin, and unmarried (An important part to the Devil Hunter Yohko Anime (and manga, if one exists)). Also it's usually implied that a Miko loses her powers. Of course, if Kagome were to lose her powers, that would put quite a kink into the story... ^_^ Besides, there often seem to be families whose daughters have traditionally been shrine maidens. Mikos are as far as I know not _just_ shrine maidens, but denote a woman/girl with spiritual/magical powers. Certainly, Tsubaki, the Kuromiko (black priestess as it were)
rival of Kikyo, that tries to poison and control Kagome through her own shards using Naruku's big chunk is evil. She's using demonic possesion to stay young- anyone's guess if she's a virgin, or if that even applies to someone so corrupted. In any case, she still has power.
Assuming Kagome remains powerful (perhaps even gains power)and able to purify the jewel, it would be interesting to see how the villagers, and perhaps other Shintoist/Budhists react to something that defies the common and traditional beliefs. I personally would be tickled pink if Naraku made the same sort of assumptions, and gets
his ass handed to him. ^_^
That said (quite a bit said, actually =P), I like
this story a lot, and I'll continue reading it.
