Note: there are ways to write a simple paragraph or two at the beginning of the chapter, rather than having to do an author's note. Usually it's as simple as: ------
"Five years passed, and Duo found himself the final contestant, with Rao his only competition..." etc ------
Other than that, I have few critiques. I applaud your excellent descriptions of the nasty critters, and the battlescene. You also had some very nice turns of phrase regarding the political developments as a result of the nasty critters moving into the various countries; the statement about Lin stepping into the political and martial breach was particularly apt. It's an important detail, too, because otherwise, it'd be like: oh, so they're black magic from some two-bit country, so? But you've demonstrated that Sanc's white magic can't do the trick, which makes Duo (and Rao) more potent as enemies. ------
And Heero shows up again! Heh. What happens next...? |

A refreshing change from the usual genre. Well written and not too much in the way of spelling mistakes etc. Enjoyable. A good read and so different from the usual setting. It shows the heart of the king and his advisors placed in a very bad situation. |
