I love stories that bring out the Battousai side of Kenshin. I just don't know if bringing in "Underworld's" elements really works. There's enough drama, revenge-seeking, vendetta building, and so forth built in the RK universe. Plus, Japan has its own mythological versions of vampires and werewolves...it might have worked better if those myths had been tapped for the supernatural elements. (One of the things the 'Underworld' creators stressed was 'science over mythology', which jars with the myth and legend-flavor of RK.) The writing style is wonderful, crisp, sharp, with vivid imagery and a lot of emotional impact. It holds great potential.
