Haven't read your story but something in the summary caught my eye while I was browsing: Why in the seven hells would you come to Springfield, MO?! Unless you're a huge fan of cashew chicken, I can't think of a sane (or insane) reason you'd want to come to the "Heart of the Ozarks" aka the "Buckle of the Bible Belt".
