Very poignant and very Gojyo. The foreshadowing and lush atmosphere is nicely done; Gojyo's way of describing his current situation especially. I liked the subtle hints about the person Gojyo is, and his need/affection for 'Green Eyes'. The nickname also brought a smile to my face. At first,"I wouldn't ask him anything about himself that he didn't want to give me himself" jumped out at me because I thought the sentencing wasn't structured correctly. However, on rereading, I think it has more to do with your style and flow, and I have found that it agrees with the last, and very telling, line. I'm hoping you will stay in the Saiyuki fandom for a while because you seem to have the characterisation down pat. And I'm always up for more well written fics.
