I really enjoyed this! I've been dying for a well written VxM story, and this hit all the marks! You did a great job, and now I have to go make my friends read it! Keep up the great work! ^_^

Beautiful job. I agree, more likely than the other scenario. Oddly enough, I didn't find it that depressing- probably because this occurs ep. 25? (If this occurred AFTER ep. 25, it would be VERY depressing!) BTW, when did they get those tights off? They must've been a bitch!

This was definitely not a happy fic; I felt just horrible for Meryl, and a little mad at Vash, even though it's understandable given all he was going through. But you got personalities head-on; Meryl's realistic viewpoint wouldn't let her romanticize anything, and Vash's pain just wouldn't let him love. It's well written.
