I agree, more likely than the other scenario. Oddly enough, I didn't find it that depressing- probably because this occurs ep. 25? (If this occurred AFTER ep. 25, it would be VERY depressing!) BTW, when did they get those tights off? They must've been a bitch!

But you got personalities head-on; Meryl's realistic viewpoint wouldn't let her romanticize anything, and Vash's pain just wouldn't let him love. It's well written.
