Well if it helps here are some suggestions. Ok right now you have Yugi's dad [name?] in the store with Yugi's grandpa and Yugi in the den/living room unseen by anyone. Most often people would have Solomon [or whatever name you want to use for grandpa] give him up to his dad or have the adults get into a fight. Either way Yugi goes home with dad and probably beaten. Other options include Gramps lying and saying that Yug's not there, or having Yug run away while people are distracted. You could have Gamps refuse to give Yugi up, and he spends the night and solves the puzzle. Whatever happens Yug should at least begin the puzzle within the next 1-2 chappies if not solve it. Also you will probably have to eventually go into some detail of the accident you mentioned. And you should consider where you want this to go; do you want this to end up as Y/Y? Well that's what I have for now, and I hope it helps in anyway. Good luck with this intriguing fic.
