First off, this piece of fiction was far from worth the wait. I don't care if Media Miner is the only place to do this kind of thing, without a piece that's actually somewhat interesting to read it's no better than an extremely poorly written MST. Secondly, there's the matter of the winners themselves. I won't name any names, to save on egos and such, but judging by the excerpts only a handful of the fictions chosen really deserved to win. Now either everything else submitted was just that bad or the judge(s) are seriously lacking in taste. Or the ability to properally judge fanfiction. Or both. Finally, and I'm really only ending here because I'm too disgusted with this whole mess to safely go on much further, everyone involved in the judging of the fictions and the writing of this awards story should be ashamed of themselves. It's people like you, people who are willing to praise worthless stories as if they were golden, who give fanfiction a bad name. If you would spend more time actually giving credit where credit was due there wouldn't be sites like Something Awful laughing at the authors and anime fans in general. I hope you're happy with yourselves, I really do, because you make me sick.

I didn't win anything, but okay. Maybe having multiple judges would change how things workout? Having one judge could also create a biass of some sort... I didn't enjoy the waiting, but this was a pleasant surprise.
