Reviewed By: lntora [MediaMiner Member] On: June 22, 2005 20:47 CDT Comment/Review: Well that was certainly cold-blooded. Poor kappa. I admit I was hesitant to read because I know nothing of Mercedes Lackey's work. Despite this lack of knowledge on my part, the fic is still enjoyable. (I just think of it as an AU instead of a fusion, makes it easier to understand, least for me.) So far I'm not missing out on anything, even though I don't really have a clue about heralds or the like. I'm still able to learn enough to follow the story, thanks mainly to your writing style. Well, as much as I usually like Kou, I hope someone socks him for the last chapter. And I hope you ignore that small and rather unnecessary "critique" I noticed among previous reviews. If going by that logic, nobody should use random Japanese when writing a fic in English, yet we all know it's done all the time. So please continue. If someone is going to let the use of one word (and not even a crass word) curb their enjoyment of a fic, then they shouldn't bother reading at all. ::rolls eyes::

Turning the Sanzo-ikku into Heralds or Herald-trainees is a very unique idea and you have done it very well. Sanzo being Goyjo's oldest brother is definitely an interesting twist--I love the horror that Goyjo feels when he realized who the new Trainer was--LOL! It was great. In my head, I can just envision my little sister shrieking my name the exact same way if she just found out that I'm her teacher. Definitely looking forward to seeing more!

I strongly suggest reading some of her works so that you may understand this better. (A hint, the books in question frequently show a white horse with sapphire blue eyes on the cover.) Love ya! I've never read this series, but it makes me curious about it and I love what's going on so far. Really looking forward to more and it'll def be exciting to see the Hakkai/Gojyo relationship in this one!

Reviewed By: Jiki On: May 31, 2005 06:21 CDT Comment/Review: I just read your rant and felt compelled to review. I don't usually review because I'm never on a computer that is able to handle the scripting but at the moment I am. I have always enjoyed your writing style and have followed all your stories on mediaminer. I have never read the Mercedes Lackey books unfortunately but I am still enjoying the story anyway. My only critique is that this chapter was a little hard to follow because you mixed up Goujun, Gojyo and Goku. Other wise I find no fault with it and I am intrigued to find out where it is going. However I would beg you not to neglect Marionette because I really like that one. Hope this is a helpful review.

If you will excuse my language, FORGET THOSE FUCKING IDIOTS WHO LEAVE SNIDE REMARKS OR THINK THEY CAN IMPROVE UPON NEAR PERFECTION!!! As I fully believe, each and every person who puts their own personal work for others to review puts a little of themselves out there. To have it, for lack of a better word, blasphemed HURTS! So of course you should be protective!!! Would anyone want to tell Van Gogh how to better "The Scream" or "Stary Night"? NO! Constuctive critisism is fine, but one would do well not to offend an artist!! (I should know! I have held a grudge for a year, and I am only an amatuer artist!!!!) Anyways, keep it up!!!

In my opinion, it turned an otherwise interesting fic into something that looked like it was hashed together. I just don't think that Japanese words fit well into the Valdemaran language. In any case, your idea is quite interesting but I just don't see how Japanese could squeeze into a too Western concept.
