No there was nothing wrong with this. Kagome blew it. She just kept shoving him away instead of trying to find someone to make him apart of her life like before. In this instance, the story is very possible and very believable and very understandable. I wonder what Kagome is doing that kept her from being him for four months. She was just begging for this to happen.
