One night, that's all he asked for when the jewel was complete and Kagome knew it was only a matter of time before it forced her back to her time and away from her serrogate family of the Feudal Era. He promised her that he would find her once again, but in the future.... Kagome realizes he must have died before he could fullfill that promise. Kurama goes through his human life passing by the time until he has no more ties to the Nenginkai and can return to Makai as a demon. He's still on call for Rekai and exterminates unwated demons that decide to cause trouble in Nenginkai with the barriers between the worlds weakened after the Sensui incident. He lives on his own and works by day as a Herbology Teacher at a local Tokyo University.
Lately, demons have been attacking human women who are dark haired and pregnant, but other than that, there's no organized plan of attack for the demons other than only lesser demons are the ones attacking. Kurama is able to save one near-victim and erases her memory of the night she was attacked, but when he returns to his Herbology class.... he finds the intreging woman one of his students!
