In the year 2078, a great discovery was made on the planet Mars, when the first human expedition traveled to the red planet to explore possibilities of colonizing on it. A large, yellow, softly glowing cube with dimensions of about three feet was discovered. Interested in finding out its origin, scientists took it back to their base. For almost the entire duration of their stay, they worked on trying to find out what it was made of, and what was inside(they'd almost immediately determined it was hollow). With no success at all, near the end of their expedition, one of the scientists requested to bring it back to Earth for further studies. The request was denied, for safety reasons. Some say that the scientist grew angry and snuck it on anyway. Some say the cube called out to him...hypnotized him, forcing him to take it back to Earth. In the end, the cube ended up on earth. Shortly after the shuttle landed in the Atlantic Ocean, a storm brewed, and waters kept rescue boats away for some time. A month later, a brother of the scientist who had requested to bring the cube back mysteriously disappeared, but returned two days later with 118 crystals in hand. The crystals were like nothing anyone had ever seen. That, added to the fact that he had no idea what they were or where he'd gotten them was rather mysterious. They were studied and said to have mystical powers. It was then that the monsters were first seen. Witnesses said they came from the ocean. Monsters all kinds showed up across the world, with unstoppable force.... Nearly a millenium later, the population of humans on Earth had reduced by just over two thirds. The monsters still roamed rampant, but they were not as widely feared as they had once been. For the humans had embraced the power of the crystals. Colonizations were now few and scarce, many larger cities lost. But now there were Crystal Warriors that battled each other for fun, and kept the monsters out of cities as professions. Lately, an acclaimed Crystal Warrior had used his collection of over 70 different crystals(the most to ever be obtained by one person) to rise to power, and earn him the title of the "Crystal Tyrant", though he referred to himself as the "Crystal Master". The adventure will begin for Ryu and his best friend, Akina, when they come home from playing in the valley one day, to discover his home has been raided and his father and older sister have been captured. They must now embark on a journey through a world of monsters and warriors to save their family from certain doom. But are the stakes more than either of them realize?...
