Chapter 8

Meeting the Princess Allura

 

The White Dragon Knight quickly walked down the halls to the Great Hall to see his lord. Dark Schneider had sent a servant to fetch him. He had entered the hallway and was surprised to see both the Red and Blue Dragon Knights all healed up and ready to go.

 

“The orders are simple. You three are to find Ranma's group, kill Ranma, retrieve the Keys, and bring back all the women in his group alive. Understood?” The Dragon Overlord asked.

 

“Yes, Lord. If Ranma should meet up with a princess?” Mamoru asked.

 

“Then bring back the princess as well. Tirga, Tatewaki do not fail me again.” Both knights nodded.

 

The three knights bowed to Dark Schneider and left the room. The Dragon Overlord wanted his knights to find and kill Ranma Saotome before he met any of the princesses because right now he was enough trouble. Especially with who he was traveling with.

 

Arshes Nei, Sean Ari, and Deedlit were powerful with their magic. Kai Harn and this redhead were skilled their swords.

 

`But the most troublesome one is Ranma with the Arts of War of the Ancients.' Dark Schneider thought to himself. He called a servant and asked him to research Ranma's history. Like why is he here. `The Power Geyser is one of those arts.'

 

 

 

“Are you sure that one of the princesses are around these mountains, Arshes?” Ranma asked.

 

“That's what my sources of info said.” The dark elf answered. “If those idiots lied I will have to be most unpleasant with them next time we meet.”

 

“We searched all around the mountains and still no residence.” Deedlit said with a frown on her face.

 

“Let's get closer to the mountains.” Ranma said.

 

“But Ranma those are cursed mountains, nobody even goes near them for fear of the curses.” Sean Ari argued.

 

“If you ladies want to wait than I will head over there.” Ranma said as he and Ryoko started to walk away. “But I rather face cursed mountains than deal with the Dragon Knights where they could ambush us.

 

“Wait for us!!!”

 

All the women native to Strawberry Fields yelled and ran the fastest they had ever ran to catch up to Ranma and Ryoko.

 

A couple of hours later the group was right next to the mountains and 4 out of the 5 women were shivering in fear as the watched the mountains right next to them.

 

“What the…?” Ranma started to question. Ranma turned his head to stare at a cliff that went straight up like a wall for 10 feet in both directions and as high as he could see.

 

“WHAT!?

“WHAT IS IT!?”

 

“IS IT A GHOST?”

 

“IT'S THE SPIRITS OF THE DEAD ISN'T IT!!??”

 

“Girls calm down. It is isn't that.” Ranma said then sweatdropped at all the demon heads the girls were making.

 

“THEN DON'T SCARE US LIKE THAT AGAIN!!!!!” Every girl besides Ryoko shouted at him.

 

“Well what is it Ranma?” Deedlit asked.

 

“Don't you girls feel it?” Ranma asked in return. The girls let out their senses but could feel nothing.

 

“I feel a huge power. A kind of power I have only sensed once before.” Ranma's eyes glowed blue then faded. Ranma then frowned at where he sensed this kind of power before. Saffron. “Clever.”

 

Ranma turned to the women in his group then motioned them to follow him. When Ranma vanished after walking into the cliff they nearly panicked but followed him through the cliff. When they all passed through they could see a narrow pathway that weaved its way through the mountain.

 

“An illusion of this strength requires powerful magical energy but I am sensing none.” Arshes remarked.

 

“Whoever put this up isn't using magic. They're using ki or life energy to power these illusions. That's why the Dragon Overlord can't find this place. He has nobody on his side that can detect these illusions.” Ranma explained. They had nearly walked for an hour marveling that such a path was hidden.

 

“So that's why but how come you were able to find it, Ranma?” Kai Harn asked.

 

“I'm probably one of the most skilled and powerful at using ki, Kai.” Ranma answered. “But I think we have more things to worry about then my skill of ki.”

 

“Like what, Lord?” Ryoko asked.

 

“Like the 50 people around us aiming their arrows at us as we speak.” Ranma said then he raised his voice. “You people can come out now.”

 

To illustrate his point he stared at one of the rocks.

 

“I must admit that is impressive young man.” A middle-aged woman said.

 

“My name is Ranma and I am here to see one of the princesses.” Ranma introduced himself.

 

“And why should we let you since you have Arshes Nei among you?” The same woman stated. “She's the lover of Dark Schneider.”

 

“Was is the key word. She was his lover, lady.” Ranma stared at the woman.

 

Both Ranma and the middle-aged woman stared each other down when suddenly the woman smiled.

 

“Well if you say so Ranma.” The lady said. “10 with me the rest guard the pathway.”

 

The woman leapt down and nodded for Ranma and his group to follow her. 10 more women got in behind Ranma's group.

 

“Just out of curiosity lady…”

 

“Hhhmmmm.”

 

“What is your name and why did you believe me?”

 

“Name's Sonya and while we stared each other down I could see the truth in your eyes, Ranma.” Sonya answered. “If I hadn't you and everyone in your group would be dead right now.”

 

With that statement the group continued the march to a castle nestled in a valley. Everyone in Ranma's group was surprised that the valley existed much less than the castle.

 

“Surprise that it is here right people.” Sonya commented. “It's a secret castle built long ago that our Royal family built just in case of an invasion. The secret of the existence of the castle has long since been passed down in the family.”

 

“Come on. You are here to meet Princess Allura.” Sonya said. All around them women stopped their chores to stare at the strangers in the valley.

 

With that they entered the castle. The women in Ranma's group was surprised to see him narrow his eyes and look around as if he was looking for something as they walked into the castle.

 

“What is it Ranma?” Deedlit asked.

 

“Remember the power that did the illusion?” After Deedlit's nod Ranma spoke again. “We're getting closer to it and from what my senses are telling me it's in the castle.”

 

All the women in Ranma's group looked around as Sonya lifted an eyebrow.

 

`Remarkable. He can sense life energy.” Sonya thought to herself. `No wonder he found his way into our valley.'

 

The group of travelers found their way into the main hall where a gorgeous blonde woman with bright green eyes was sitting on the throne waiting for them.

 

“Your highness these are the intruders.” Sonya kneeled to the woman. All of Ranma's group followed suit but kept their guard up.

 

“How did they find their way in, Sonya?” The princess asked.

 

“The man sensed the illusion and it appears he can sense the power it uses.” Sonya answered. “His name is Ranma, your highness.”

 

“I see. I welcome you to the castle and my home.” The princess said. “I am the Princess Allura.”

 

“Thank you.”

 

“Ranma why are you here?” Allura asked. “I can see you are not from our lands.”

 

“I'm here to free the goddesses Washu and Belldandy in hopes they can cure my curse your highness.” Ranma answered. `plus get this million gold piece bounty of my head once I deal with Kuno.”

 

“I see.” Allura nodded. “If you had headed to the Goddess Tower right away you would have been defeated but since you came here you must be after one of the other Sacred Artifacts besides the White Sword.”

 

“You mean it exists?” Arshes asked stunned. Even thought she had heard that there were three artifacts she always doubted.

 

“Yes Arshes Nei, it does exist. There were two other goddesses that help our lands. They are Tsunami and Tokimi. These two are not well known since they kept to the shadows expecting something like what happened to Schneider would happen.” Allura smiled and nodded. “However Ranma must go through the trial to see if he is worthy of such power.”

 

“Doesn't sound too hard.” Kai Harn remarked.

 

“You may think that but there are only two results from the trial.” Allura said.

 

“Let me guess.” Ranma said. “Either I succeed and am worthy of the power or I die because I failed.”

 

Allura nodded at Ranma's words.
