Chapter Three

We are One

Kai walked down the hall and stood outside Tyson's room. Kai could just make out Tyson's soft breathing coming through the sliding doors. At last I will be getting the answers to all my questions.

Kai took a deep breath and slid open the door. Kai felt like his heart had skipped a beat. Lying on the floor was Tyson. The blanket that was covering him had slid down and was just covering his lower half. Tyson's body was lightly covered in a sheet of sweat and the moonlight made him look like he was shimmering like water. His hair was fanned out all around his head and some was sticking to his chest.

"My… god…" Kai breathed as he entered the room and slid the door closed. Kai took in the beautiful man that was laid out before him. His arms, chest and abdomen were perfectly sculpted. He was very fit looking and Kai found himself being hypnotized by the rising and falling of Tyson's chest as he breathed.

Kai knelt down beside Tyson and gently brushed a stray hair out of his face. He is to prefect to be real. I must be dreaming. I have dreamt about this moment for three years and he looks better then anything I pictured.

Kai didn't know how long he sat beside Tyson. He was in a trans of some sort. Kai was jolted from his daydream when Tyson moaned and he slowly opened his eyes.

"Tyson?" Kai leaned forward as midnight blue eyes connected with his crimson. Tyson looked confused and scared but then suddenly relaxed.

"Kai? What are you doing here?" Tyson slowly sat up. Kai had to hold in a moan as Tyson's muscles flexed and rippled at this little movement. Kai reached over and brushed some of his silky blue-black hair over his shoulder.

"Kaida told us about everything Tyson." Tyson looked over at Kai and glared.

"You know everything?! She was not to tell anyone! I told her not to tell!" Tyson made to get up and Kai stopped him.

"If she didn't tell us we were all going to pin you down and make you tell us. Tyson we are all in this together. I may not be from one of the Clans but I will always be at your side. Don't try to push me away Tyson. I won't leave!"

Tyson gripped his blankets and looked down at his hands. "Kai you have to understand something. These creatures are not like anything we have ever dealt with before. And since they are after me I couldn't get you involved." Kai gasped when Tyson looked up at him. His eyes were brimming with tears. "I love you to damn much Kai! Can't see you that!? That's why you can't get involved in this. I don't want to use you!"

Kai glared at Tyson and before he could stop himself he slap Tyson, hard, in the face. Tyson fell to the floor sending the blanket flying. Tyson looked at Kai and flinched. Kai was now hovering over him glaring at Tyson with so many emotions that it was making Tyson sick.

"Kai…" Kai walked over to Tyson and pinned him to the floor. Kai straddled Tyson's hips and pinned his hands over his head.

"Now that I have your attention you are going to listen to me." Kai grounded his hips into Tyson's pelvis and Tyson bit his lip to stop for yelling out. "Good! I don't care if the whole fucking world is after you Tyson that is no reason to leave me out of your life. I have been dead since the moment you left and when I finally saw you again you ignored me!"

"Kai I… mmmm!" Kai grounded his hips into Tyson's once more when he tried to speak.

"I told you Tyson that you are going to listen to me. I need you Tyson! I always have. You brought the best in me out and you helped me to reclaim my life. I am strong Tyson and no matter what comes our way I will help you fight it. You were worried about something happening to me well how do you think I feel? This thing is after you and if I lose you again I don't know what I would do? You aren't the only one who cares Tyson!"

"Kai…" Kai was about to grind into Tyson again until he saw that Tyson was crying. "I know this Kai. I really do. I just didn't know what to do. I care for you so much and then finding out about my family and the secrets I just couldn't take it. If it weren't for my love for you and the help that Kaida gave me I wouldn't have made it. Don't you see Kai I don't want you to have to go through all that pain and suffering because of me."

Kai gently wiped away the tears from Tyson's face with the pad of his thumb. "I want to go through everything that you did Tyson. I want to know what it was like for you and I want to help in anyway that I can. I know it will be hard but I have you by my side. I want to face this with you Tyson because I love you."

Kai nearly jumped for joy when he saw the look on Tyson's face. "Well I guess when you put it that way how can I say no. I always wanted you by my side Kai because I love you too!" Kai melted when Tyson smiled at him. It was the most beautiful smile that he had ever seen and it was all for him.

"Uhmm… Kai? You're kind of squishing me."

"Oh!" Kai climbed off of Tyson and he slowly sat up. Tyson rubbed his cheek and looked at Kai.

"You know you didn't need to hit me." Tyson pulled himself up so he was sitting on his knees across from Kai.

"Oh really and how else was I going to get your attention?" Kai crossed his arms and cocked an eyebrow at Tyson.

"I can think of a few ways…" And before Kai could even react Tyson leaned forward, grabbed his neck, and kissed him hard and full. Tyson scooted forward so that their knees were touching as he ran his hand through Kai's hair.

Kai was in heaven. It felt so good and so right to have Tyson kissing him. Kai moaned into the kiss and Tyson thrust his tongue into Kai's mouth. Kai felt like ever nerve in his body was like electricity. But Kai wasn't about to let Tyson have all the fun. Kai reached forward and grabbed Tyson by the hips and pulled him onto his lap.

Tyson broke away from the kiss by the movement and Kai quickly leaned up and kissed him again. This time plunging his own tongue into the recesses of Tyson's mouth. Kai ran his hands up Tyson's back and Tyson broke away from the kiss when Kai's hands rubbed between his shoulder blades. Tyson's head rolled back as he moaned.

"Tyson…" Kai never finished his sentence as Tyson rocked in his lap. Kai bite his lip to stop himself was moaning and quickly grabbed Tyson's hips to stop him from moving. "Tyson… what happened…"

Tyson grabbed onto Kai's shoulders as he was breathing heavily. "Don't… do that… again…" Tyson was shuttering and gasping for air.

"Do what?"

Tyson opened his eyes and Kai shuttered. His eyes were now a shining blue with flecks of silver in them. "I guess Kaida didn't tell you everything now did she. We dragons are marked and this mark causes uhmm… certain things to happen."

Kai tilted his head as he pulled Tyson close to him. Kai brushed his hair out of the way and looked between Tyson's shoulder blades. "Wow…" On Tyson's back was a very beautiful tattoo of a dragon circling the kanji character for air. It was glowing softly and as Kai raised a hand to it it gave off heat.

"So if I touch this again…" Kai ran a finger over it and Tyson yelled out in pleasure as he gripped Kai's shoulders painfully tight. "Well I think I really like this tattoo. Your cries of pleasure are like music to me ears."

Tyson pulled away and looked down at Kai. His face flushed and his breathing was laboured. "Kai I need you!" Tyson's eyes flashed silver as he said this and Kai shivered from the need and lust that in Tyson's voice.

Tyson reached down and started to pull at Kai's shirt. Tyson pulled his shirt from his pants and starting working on his tie. Kai let Tyson go to work on undressing him. Tyson had the tie off and thrown across the room in time. Tyson gripped Kai's shirt and ripped it open sending buttons everywhere.

"Hey I need that shirt for school!" Tyson pulled off the rest of Kai's shirt and threw it across the room.

"It's not fair that I was sitting here in just my pants and you were completely clothed." Tyson pulled back and looked at Kai. "Perfect." Was the only thing Tyson said before he leaned in and starting placing hot open mouthed kisses to Kai's jaw line as he made his way towards his ear.

Tyson nipped Kai's ear and felt him shiver underneath him. "Do you like that my phoenix?" Tyson's hot breath tingled Kai's ear. "I need to taste you, to feel you, to be one with you." Kai was in another realm as Tyson pulled his pants off. Kai shut his eyes at the feel of Tyson's hands running down his bare legs. Tyson threw the pants across the room to join the other discarded clothes. Kai pride opens his eyes and gasped when he saw Tyson lick his lips.

"You are all mine my Phoenix." Tyson ran his hands back up Kai's legs and gripped Kai's boxers. Tyson pulled these down and over his legs and tossed them over his shoulder. "You are more prefect then I ever pictured Kai."

Kai awoke with a start from the dream he was having. "Holy shit!" Kai ran a shaky hand through his hair as he slowly calmed down. "Always the same damn dream…" Kai looked down beside him and noticed that Tyson was missing. Kai stretched and stood up slowly. He looked around and found his discarded boxers and pants.

"Where could Tyson be? The sun isn't even up yet." Kai stifled a yawn as he made his way to the door. Kai jumped when he heard yelling in the back yard. Kai slid open the door was greeted by Rei.

"Good Morning sunshine! Care for some coffee?" Kai grabbed his heart as being scared by Rei and grumbled incoherently as he took the coffee from Rei.

"What's that yelling?" Kai took a sip of the coffee and instantly started to wake up.

"Oh that well I guess they are a lot louder now. It's Tyson and Kaida. They have been fighting for the past thirty minutes now. I have no idea what they are saying anymore since they are now speaking dragonish."

"What-ish?"

"Dragonish. The language of the ancients. I guess they don't want us to know what they are talking about." Rei lead the way towards the backyard and sure enough there was Tyson and Kaida, almost nose-to-nose, screaming at each other in a strange language.

"Takao-kishka Ie tolb ueou thait Ie ais ging to tel them adoyt iet!"

Tyson growled his answered and Kaida's eyes flashed silver. Kai laughed to himself at the scene. "You two need to knock that off so we can eat! I'm hungry!" Tyson jumped and Kaida's eyes changed back to ice blue.

"Kai! You're awake… sorry if we woke you." Tyson glared once more at Kaida as he started to walk towards Kai.Tyson yelled over his shoulder "Kaida-kishke we wiel fienish thies laiter!"

"Vahaio!" Tyson stopped and turned around. Kaida was standing there with her hands on her hips. She stuck her tongue out at Tyson as she stormed off towards the training room.

"Why you…" Tyson made to go after her but Kai walked over to Tyson and wrapped an arm around his waist and led him towards the house.

"You two little dragons were really going at it. I thought I was going to break up a smack down." Tyson sighed at his grandfather and sat down at the table. Kai smirked when Tyson winced at the pressure on his bottom.

"Gramps I'm really hungry and I think everyone else is as well." Kai looked around and finally noticed that everyone was still there.

"Why are you guys here?" Kai asked as he sat down beside Tyson.

"Kaida didn't want us to leave last night since it was after dark. She said that it wasn't safe and that we could stay here and go to school together. She even washed and pressed all our school uniforms so that they would be clean today. Oh yeah Kai she said that your clothes are in the bathhouse. She thought that you might wish to wash up before going off to school." Hilary sat down beside Kenny as she thanked gramps for her breakfast.

"What time is in anyway?" Kai looked around the kitchen for a clock.

"It is just after 4:30 a.m. Kai."

Kai choked on his coffee, "4:30!! Why are we up so early! School doesn't start for another three and a half hours!"

Tyson stopped inhaling his food to quickly state, "I am always up before sunrise for energy. I guess Kaida's and my argument woke everyone up." Tyson was instantly engrossed in eating again.

"Sunrise for energy? I'm lost," Kai closed his eyes and leaned back against his chair.

"Takao?" Tyson stopped eating, with half a piece of toast hanging out of his mouth, as Kaida entered the room.

Tyson removed the piece of toast and nodded at Kaida. "I'm coming. Uhmm… you guys can watch if you want." Tyson pushed his chair away from the table and stood up. Tyson leaned down and lightly kissed Kai's cheek as he left the room.

Kai opened his eyes when Tyson kissed him and watched as his beloved dragon followed Kaida out the door.

"Well I see you two finally made up," Max grinned at Kai and Kai felt his cheeks burn.

Rei stood up from the table and followed after Tyson and Kaida. He stopped at the door and turned to the others. "You guys coming?"

Tyson followed after Kaida into the backyard. She stopped just in front of the koi pond and turned around to face Tyson. "Takao I know you are still mad at me but you must say that you are glad that I told them. I know that Kai is very happy that I told him what was going on. And by your marking I can tell that the mating is under way."

Tyson blushed. "I don't know what you mean."

"Didn't you pay attention to the elders when they were telling you about the mating of dragons?"

Tyson grinned and shook his head. "Nope I was planning on cutting Kai out of my life remember. I didn't think I would need to know about mating."

"Baka. I guess I will have to fill you in on that. But later. The sun is about to rise and I know that you must be exhausted." Kaida grinned and Tyson blushed again.

"Hey look everyone came to watch." Tyson glanced over his shoulder and saw everyone sitting down on the walkway. "Rei you might want to tell them what is going to happen. Since you all are a part of the Sacred Spirits' lives I am guessing that the energy may come towards you as well."

Rei gave a thumbs up as he explained to the others what was going to be happening. Kenny jumped up and ran and got Dizzi. Hilary clapped her hands together and had a far off look in her eyes and Max was beside himself with excitement. Kai looked at Tyson and smiled.

Tyson turned back to Kaida. "I think they are all excited about this. I didn't think that it was that big of a deal."

"Takao you were like a kid in a candy shop when I first did this with you. You still need to finish training so you can do this without me."

Tyson raised his arms out before himself, palms up, and waited for Kaida to place her hands on his. Kaida sighed and placed her hands on top Tyson's. "I don't intend to do this without you. Besides the female's of our clans always gather more energy then the males."

Kaida laughed and shook her head. Tyson looked over her shoulder and saw that the horizon was starting to bleed, as the sun was getting ready to rise. "Its time Kaida."

"Hai." Kaida closed her eyes and the wind started to pick up. Tyson closed his eyes and felt lighted headed for a moment as he and Kaida mind linked. {Of powerful Guardians that surround our world hear my call} Tyson heard Kaida's voice in his head as she started the incantation.

{We, the Dragons of the Air, call out to thee. Hear our call and descend upon us. Grant us your energy and wisdom for the day ahead. We, the Dragons of the Air, call out to thee!}

Tyson opened his eyes and they were a blazing indigo blue. Kaida opened her eyes and they were a brilliant silver. Tyson barely heard the others gasp as he was gently lifted into the air. The wind picked up as tiny white lights descended upon them and danced around in the wind that was enveloping them.

Tyson's and Kaida's hair flew into the air as the tiny lights started to touch their skin. Wherever the lights touched Tyson he could feel his skin heat up and then cool. Soon the whole backyard was covered with tiny dancing lights as they made there way towards everyone. Tyson was soon over come with power that he closed his eyes and let the power wash over him.

Tyson felt the wind die down as he slowly landed on the ground. He felt great. It was like his whole body was on fire. I love this feeling! I am so full of energy that I could beyblade all day long and not get tired.

Tyson opened his eyes and looked at Kaida who was smiling back. Tyson let go of one of her hands and, holding the other, walked back to the others. Tyson looked towards the others as they started to open their eyes. Tyson smiled at Kai and he smiled back. Suddenly Max jumped up and started running around the backyard yelling that he was so full of energy.

Tyson sweat dropped as he watched Max run around but what caught his attention was that Kaida was laughing. And she was laughing hard. Tyson couldn't help but laugh as well. Kaida's laugh was so infectious.

"I think we will have to find something for Max to do to bring down his energy level. I didn't think that it would affect him that way," Kaida wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

"No worries Kaida Max is such a genki that he is usually this high on energy," Rei grabbed at a stitch in his side from laughing.

"I got everything on tape! I can't believe that it worked! Great job Dizzi! I can analyze it later and see what happened."

Kaida walked forward and looked at Kenny's laptop. "I have been meaning to ask you Kenny. What is this thing? Is it a box?" Kaida sat beside Kenny and gently touched his computer.

Kenny was just sitting there with his mouth gaping open. "You don't know what a computer is?!"

Kaida looked up and shook her head, "We never had anything like this up north. What does it do? Does it have some kind of magic to it?"

"Kaida it could take all day to explain what a computer is and you and I have training to do before school," Tyson walked over and placed a hand on Kaida's shoulder.

"You are right Takao but this thing is really fascinating. It even glows! Oh yeah! Everyone your schoolbooks are in the living. We all had homework and since Takao and I finished ours this morning you all might want to do yours as well. And by the time Takao and I get back it will be time to leave." Kaida stood up and walked off towards her room.

Tyson bowed into Kai and whispered. "Kaida has new clothes for you in the bathhouse. I have already bathed this morning but after your homework or before you can have a bath." Tyson grinned when Kai shivered. "We will be back in about an hour. That should give you enough time for homework and a bath." Tyson brushed his lips against Kai's ear as he straightened up and walked off to his room.

Tyson had just finished changing into his running gear when he heard laughing coming from the living. Tyson walked in and saw that Max was writing so fast the he was on the verge of lighting the page on fire.

"Whoa easy Max! We have a lot of time," Rei was trying to get the pencil from Max's hand but was failing in all his attempts.

"Rei just leave him be. We will know for next time that he shouldn't be present for the sunrise again." Everyone turned at Tyson's voice.

"Wow Tyson look at you," Hilary's eyes were gleaming as she stared at Tyson. Tyson cocked an eyebrow and looked down at himself. He was wearing black running shoes, black socks, tight joggers shorts that went to just above his knee and a tight deep blue sleeveless joggers shirt.

"This is what I always wear when I run. It's wind resist and it keeps me warm when I run at night. I didn't run last night so Kaida and I going for a longer run this morning. Uhmm… Hilary?" Hilary had a far away look in her eyes. "HIL!"

Hilary jumped and looked around as she blushed. "Sorry Tyson."

"Have any of you seen Kaida?"

"No but we heard her talking with Gramps a few minutes ago," Rei looked up from his textbook did a double take at Tyson and then went back to reading.

"Why do you want to know Tyson," Kai asked as he tried to figure out the diagram of a plant in his biology book.

"She usually braids my hair for our runs and I was just…"

"I'LL DO IT!" Tyson jumped when Hilary yelled out and came bounding towards him.

"Uhmm… sure Hilary. Nothing special just a straight braid down my back."

Hilary motioned for Tyson to sit down and he did. Hilary gently ran her hands through Tyson's hair to get any tangles out. "Wow Tyson your hair is so soft and silky. It's like running my hands through spun silk."

"Hil… I need to go running soon so when you are done playing with my hair could you please braid it." Hilary blushed and started to work on braiding Tyson's hair.

Just when Hilary was finishing off Tyson's hair Kaida walked in, her hair flying all over the place, and she looked really mad. "Takao don't you ever ever forget to do your chores again. I was just out there chopping your wood!"

Hilary said `tada' and Tyson stood up. "I was going to do it when we got back. Oh," Tyson turned around and smiled at Hilary, "Thanks Hil it feels nice and tight." Hilary grinned and walked back over to her books.

"Now stop your complaining and turn around." Kaida huffed as she turned around. "Rei!" Tyson glared over his shoulder and saw that Rei was drooling at the sight of Kaida. But upon hearing his name he quickly went back to work. Tyson turned his attention back to braiding Kaida's hair. It was really long but surprisingly easily to braid.

Kaida handed Tyson her hair tie as he finished the braid. "There now we can go. Oh yeah I want to go longer this time because I didn't run last night."

Kaida turned around and grinned. "I know," she tapped Tyson's head, "I heard you."

"You have got to stay out of my head Kaida."

"You have to train to keep me out of there." Kaida stuck her tongue out at Tyson as she walked across the room and out the front door. Tyson sighed as he followed after Kaida.

"See you guys in about hour!" Tyson yelled over his shoulder as he ran out the front door.

Kai was just climbing out of the shower when he heard Tyson and Kaida come home. Kai quickly changed into the clothes that Kaida had set out for him. Smiling when he noticed that she had gotten him a new school shirt. She is really quick at figuring things out.

Kai was just tying his tie when he heard Kaida yell and then her running down the hall. Kai finished his tie and quickly made his way to the living. "What was that yelling?"

Kai entered the living just as the tail end of Tyson's braid whipped around a corner. "Tyson and Kaida were longer then they thought. We have to leave for school now and they aren't ready." Ten minutes later Tyson and Kaida were putting on their walking shoes and walked out the front door.

Tyson walked up to Kai and slipped his hand into Kai's. Kai smiled at Tyson and linked their fingers together. "So it's another day at school. I hope it goes better then yesterday." Tyson grinned at Kai's words as they made there way down the street towards school.

But little did any of them realize that someone was standing in the shadows watching them walk towards school. "Soon Dragon. You will be all mine!"
