Here is chapter four, Bryan is out of character, but I can't write him well so get over it.

 

 

Ch4

“Are you okay Rei?” Bryan asked as he sat on the ground bleeding.

“No,” Rei whispered, “Bryan, I can't move.”

Bryan then tried to clean off Rei's wounds.

“Rei,” Bryan said quietly, “I will be here for you.”

“You could have ordered them to stop,” Tala said quietly, “You're the prince.”

“I know,” Kai said softly, “But he might be a slave or something of that nature.”

Tala looked his distressed friend and sighed. How would he help Kai with this problem?

“Well,” Tala suggested, “You could keep him company for the next few days or so and try to get him to tell you if he is a slave or not.”

Kai shook his head, Tala was crazy. He couldn't do that. Rei wouldn't tell him anything.

“Don't' worry,” Tala tried to reassure Kai, `it will all work out.”

Kai sighed, his red eyes dark and clouded.

“I sure hope so.”

It had been about an hour since Kai left Tala's cottage, but before Kai had left, he had told Tala where Rei lived.

Now, Tala was going to check the place out for himself. And if he could choose between Kai in one of his moods and this place, he would choose Kai.

This place is creepy, Tala thought as he stood outside, Wonder what old witch lives here.

“Excuse me. Can I help you?

Tala turned and saw a purple haired boy. He looked very confused.

“Well?” the boy asked again, “Can I help you?”

Crap, Came Tala's thoughts, What to I do?

“No,” Tala said nervously, “I was just looking at your cottage.”'

“Oh,” the purple haired boy said, “I'm Bryan.”

Tala stuck his hand out and said, “Tala.”

This was going to be a long morning.

Kai as in his room, trying on a suit at the request of his parents.

In a week, they were going to make him go through with the ball. They said that he needed to find a mate.

If he didn't, he would have to renounce his crown.

And he really didn't want to do that.

Rei was trying to clean the cottage up without further injuring his back.

That is just another pain to my life, he thought bitterly, What am I going to do? It took all night to stop the bleeding.

Rei heard voices outside and saw Bryan talking to a cure read-haired guy. He seemed to be enjoying himself.

Good, Rei thought, I wouldn't with him ill.

Rei then turned back to his cleaning.

“So Tala,” Bryan said smiling, “What do you do for a living?”

Tala said, `I'm a knight. When the kingdom goes under attack, I lead a group of the troops.”

Bryan's eyes widened. He was talking to a knight!

“So what is your position?” Bryan asked, suddenly interested.

“After Prince Hiwatari,” Tala began, “I'm third in command and he told me that I'm his most trusted knight.”

Bryan looked so amazed that Tala was third in command, that his mouth dropped open.

Tala chuckled. This was amusing.

“So,” Bryan said, “Where do you live?”
