Chapter 11: I put my trust in you…

Tala fell against the wall, holding the gash on his arm that was spewing blood. Why was he doing this to himself, this crazy training, while everyone rested and followed Kai's new schedule…yes that was the reason.
Because it was Kai's new way, he betrayed Tala then came back to take away Tala's power, his cyber power. But Tala really believed that, he didn't know.
He dropped to his knees in the dark under level abbey passage, a few ghost tears lining those effeminate eyes.

He had no clue what he wanted, he wasn't sure of himself anymore, he had turned Kai away coldly when he had returned claiming to have come back to help Tala, but Tala couldn't believe it, even if there was a part of him that wanted to.

He heard foot steps and looked up at the person coming down the passage. It was Kai.
Tala forced himself to stand and managed halfway up the wall without using his hands. But when Kai reached to help him, he used his pained arm and batted it away,

Tala- “What? Are you following me, don't you have somebody else's life to ruin!” he screamed at Kai who looked calm.
Kai- “You know you don't mean that, just like you know that Boris is brainwashing you…the same way you knew it the first time and you overcame it…” Kai sounded so serious it was unnatural. It was as if he expected his words alone to bring Tala back.
Tala smiled snidely, stood up straight and expertly flicked his two long bangs from the front of his face. He turned his back to Kai,
Tala- “Shows how much you know great Mr Hiwatari. You really think that I didn't know what was happening to me…well sorry to disappoint you…” he walked of down the hall with a sudden strength that only his anger allowed him to muster.

Kai watched Tala walk away and his anger surfaced; he glanced at the dark floor before striding after Tala.
Tala felt Kai's arm around his neck in a sleeper hold and it tightened viciously as Tala squirmed,
Tala- “Kgai…whgut…” he couldn't get the word s out and he could feel himself weakening. Kai's head was on Tala's shoulder, but Tala had no idea that Kai was crying.

Once Kai felt Tala stop moving he released the grip and picked Tala up in a cradle position. He blinked and tears strayed down his pale cheeks.
Kai- “I'm sorry brother…but this is for your own good…in the end…” he whispered then turned to go back the way he had come, carrying Tala quietly.

Boris typed furiously on his lap top, he was uncertain of what he was actually doing. Kai had ruined everything, including his frame of mind. He slammed the laptop shut and got up to pace around his Russian apartment. He was seething mad because Kai had banned him from the abbey. He slammed his fists down on the desk,
Boris- “BUT ITS MY GOD DAMNED ABBEY!!!!” he yelled out angrily.

He was about to throw something when a knock sounded at his door. He went with much frustration to answer, swinging the door open fiercely. He wasn't to pleased with who he saw, he scowled,
Boris- “This is a very bad time…” he said staring at the man in the door way.

The stranger walked in past Boris.
Man- “You're right, it is a very bad time for you Boris. He was supposed to be dead by now. But I believe it's to the contrary.”

Boris slammed the door,
Boris-“Everything was going according to plan…but there is something I have to resolve before it can be done. But his as good as dead…” he spat He looked at the bottle of Vodka on his desk and walked to it,
Boris- “Besides…no point rushing…good work takes time…” he took a long drink from the bottle.

The man grabbed the bottle and broke it on the floor,
Man- “Wrong, you drunken old fool! There is a rush, I'm pressed for time because she's getting anxious about finding him…and she CANNOT find him! Do you understand?” he shouted at Boris who was staring at the wasted Vodka.

Boris sighed and looked at the angered man,
Boris- “Yes I know if she finds him, you won't receive her fortune when she dies…” he said in a bored tone.

Man- “Yes, and I am paying you very generously to kill a CHILD!!!!! How hard is that?”
Boris- “Harder than I expected…” he mumbled in disbelief.
Man- “You're running out of time Boris…”
Boris- “And you've run out of leverage you twit! Don't you see that I obviously don't give a fuck about your threats! There is nothing you can use against me you fool, because Voltaire knows everything.” He smiled at the shocked expression,
Boris- “Therefore, the only reason I'm doing this is for the money…so shut up…and get out. I'll call you when I'm done.” He sat back down and pulled open his laptop, ignoring the man, who after a moment left, slamming the door.
Boris sat back once he was alone. In actual fact the money had very little to do with it, now it was revenge that he wanted, so it was in his benefit to kill the said child. He smiled; he would do it very soon.

Tala woke up in a room, he was a little groggy, but not to bad. But his grogginess quickly turned to anger when he realised he was tied up.
Tala- “What the…” he looked behind him. His hands were tied to the bed post behind his back.
Tala- “ARG! KAI!” he shouted.
Kai- “Yes?” Kai steeped into the room and looked at Tala wriggling against the bed post.
Tala- “What is this? Why did you tie me up?”
Kai- “For the same reason I cleaned and bandaged your wound…to help you.”

Tala burst out laughing,
Tala- “This is your idea of helping? You have lost your freakin' mind!” he calmed down,
Tala- “Now un tie me Kai, so I can get back to my schedule.
Kai- “Sorry Tala but that's not gonna happen. It's killing me to see you like this, being like this. And as much as I hate to treat you like a child, this time it's highly necessary. Because you're acting like a petty child and Boris cyber programs have screwed you up.” He spoke so calmly, but he had tears in his eyes.

He saw that Tala did too,
Tala- “You're such an idiot! You think that Boris is screwing me up!! You're crazy! Its you, you did this to me Kai! You made me hate you so much that I wanted to destroy you!! I wanted to hurt you the way I was hurting when you left!!!” he squirmed angrily pulling on the ties causing the bed post to shake.

Kai- “How can you say that, do you really believe that for one second that I was away form here that I forgot about you, about all of you? Do you think I could sleep at night? I went home against my will, but unfortunately my will was weak so I couldn't help it! I passed out in the car! I passed out in the halls of the mansion! I coughed up blood until I was admitted to intensive care because I had INTERNAL HEMOERAGING! And still Tala, it was all about coming back…getting well, so that I could save you…” he trailed off, kneeling in front of a crying Tala.

Kai- “And now your telling me that you hate me?” he breathed and his tears fell openly.

Tala shook his head, his teeth clenched,
`I wont listen to him…its lies its all lies. He wants to hurt me again. Make me trust him and then he'll leave me. Because he has a home…and a family…and I have…nothing…except…'
Tala- “KAI!” he shouted, “I'm so sorry…please forgive me…don't leave me here again…by myself…” he was crying.

Kai stared at him, a look of amazement on his face, he went closer and hugged Tala, who couldn't hug him back but lied his head on Kai's shoulder and cried.
Kai-*“Thank God…”* he whispered to himself. He had Tala back, which would ultimately give him the strength he needed to help his grandfather ruin Boris.

Kai untied Tala as soon as Tala had regained composure. Tala sat there rubbing his wrists to relieve his circulation. He watched Kai's face, so many emotions flashing over his features as he stared into space.
Tala- “Kai? Are you okay?” he turned Kai's face to look at him. Kai smiled,
Kai- “I'm fine…now that you are…” he lied.

Kai was far from fine, he had healed physically but emotionally he was a wreck. His mind often wondered and he struggled to focus. Sometimes he would feel depressed and just cry, even if things were going his way. That's how he felt now. He stood up,
Kai- I'll see you later…you can sleep in my room, I'll have another bed brought for you.”
Tala- “Where are you going?” there was accusation in Tala's tone of voice.
Kai- “To get my head together…the time has come Tala…Boris's time to pay has come…” he sounded morbid and then he left.
Tala looked at his red wrists and closed his hands into fists; he could already feel he was weaker, the same way he had been after he broke the cyber the first time. He needed rest, so he decided he would go to Kai's room and sleep. He stood on his feet and made his way from the room, Tala would need Kai now more than ever if he was too recover.

Tala walked out into the passage calmly, but in that instant a headache equivalent to a migraine knocked him out.
Boris- “That's more like it…you traitoress wretch.” He spat and picked Tala round his waist carrying him under his arm.
Boris had created a passage way for himself into the abbey years ago, and now it had served its purpose. He smiled as he carried Tala to the office that was once his.
