To answer the reviewers question. Rei is vampire. So he bit Kai.

 

Ch2

Ugh, Kai thought, Where am I?

Without opening his eyes, Kai felt himself laying on some sort of couch.

“Is he awake?” a shy male voice asked.

“I think so,” another male voice said, “His breathing is speeding up.”

“Did you take his weapons away?”

“Yes Max, I did.”

Kai opened his eyes and found a pair of golden eyes looking at him.

“Who are you?” The eyes asked.

Kai instantly reached for his flashlight but found that it wasn't there.

“We took your tools away.”

Kai tried to sit up, but staggered.

“Woah, didn't realize that a little bite would mess you up.”

A bite?

Kai felt a hand on his chest holding him down.

“Let me go,” Kai hissed weakly.

“Relax,” the voice said, “Max, turn on the lights.”

“Okay.”

A bright light came on and Kai saw a Chinese man above him. He had long ebony-black hair and golden eyes.

“Happy now?” the Chinese asked, “Now, who are you>”

“Kai Hiwatari, can I sit up now?”

`Sure.”

The hand moved away from his chest and Kai sat up. When he did, he noticed the vampire from earlier.

`You're vampires,” Kai cried out in anger.

Kai jumped to his feet, ready to defend himself.

“And you're the hunter that we are trying to avoid,” the Chinese replied coolly, “Mr. Hiwatari, we don't want to hurt you.”

Kai sneered and said, “Yeah right, all vampires love to kill.”

“No,” the Chinese hissed, “We don't all like too.”

Something crashed and the vampire called Max said, “We're being attacked by hunters! Rei, what do we do?”

Rei said, “We go underground to out other hide out. We have to take the hunter with us.”

Kai was dumbfounded, why hadn't they tried to kill him? But maybe they had. Kai vaguely remembered something about a bite. What was it? Didn't realize a little bite would mess you up.

They had bit him!

“Are you okay?” the one called Rei asked, “You look dazed.”

“You bit me,” Kai gasped in anger, “You bit me.”

“Great,” Max hissed, “He's going crazy.”

A silver tipped arrow flew into the warehouse and Rei sighed.

“Yes,” he said, “I bit you, but if I hadn't, you would have attacked us.”

Kai didn't move from his position but he said, “Only to save my skin.”

“Which is exactly why I bit you, to save our skins. Now we need to get out of here! You will be attacked if they see you here.”

Max tossed Kai his belt and weapons and said, “Now come. If we attack, you can kill us. Come on!”

Kai didn't move in time and a stack of boxes came crashing down on him.

“Stupid hunter,” Rei muttered grabbing Kai and dashing out of the way.

Poor Kai was so surprised that his mouth hung open.

Rei looked amused but picked him up once more and went down the dark stairs in the warehouse.

“I can walk,” Kai complained, “You can put me down.”

Rei chuckled, a strange noise deep down in his throat.

“Not on this terrain you can't.”

“Why?”

Max cracked up laughing.

“Don't make fun of him,” Rei playfully scolded Max, “He is a hunter, they are all stupid.”

“Hey,” Kai protested, “Why are you ragging on hunters?”

Okay, Kai was getting angry with himself, he never acted this way with anyone, let alone a vampire. Why was he now?

“We're here!” Max sung out.

“Open the door,” Rei said, “The hunter is heavy.”

Kai groaned why wouldn't Rei stop the wise cracks? Why was Kai letting Rei touch him?

As Rei put Kai down, Kai put on his “emotionless mask” and waited for the vampires to explain things to him.

`So,” Rei said, “What do you want to know? After all, I did drink some of your blood.”
