In the deep blue
Kai and Tala were back at the park early the next morning,the angel just as eager as he had been the night before.The redhead was somewhat doubting,but said nothing about this as he helped his friend.Hours passed without any result.Luckily there were few people nearby,otherwise they might have been discovered as Kai was performing chants and spells.The angel sighed and rubbed his forehead in anger.
"There must be a spell for this!"he hissed and thought it over again.He thought of every spell he knew of,but none of them seemed to fit for this purpose.
"Maybe you dont know the right spell,Kai.Maybe the High Guardians are the only ones to know about it",Tala said.Kai`s heart sank in his chest.Tala could be right.He hadn`t offered that a thought.If he wasnt able to open the entrance everything had been for nothing!But he refused to give up now.Kai was too stubborn for that!He closed his eyes and searched his mind again,diving deeper this time,into his past.
-Flashback-
"Dranzer!Sing me that song again!"a little Kai pleaded,his thumb in his mouth.The phoenix smiled down at her master and let him climb onto her back."Alright..It goes like this..."She closed her eyes and started singing.
"Kere kere,ne neichi ne.Thouda se negi ne ne,mayako merkek tze.Kesuki se,neichi ne".
Kai stroke her feathers lovingly."You have a pretty voice!"he chuckled.She smiled again and stood up,flapping her wings,her feet leaving the ground.
"Yaaaay!"the little boy laughed as she flew.
-End Flashback-
Kai opened his eyes again and smiled."I think I found it",he stated and took a deep breath.Tala looked doubtful.
"How can you know?You have tried so many...",he said.The angel shook his head.
"I know this must be the one,trust me",he said and concentrated on the words that came to his mind.He sang them out loud and clear,his soft voice astonishing Tala.He couldnt understand the words that were sung,but they touched his heart still.That song held so much emotion.The angel repeated it again and again,his voice begging.When he opened his eyes again he collapsed into the arms of the redhead.Tala held him close and asked if he was ok.Kai simply smiled and nodded his head,looking at the rock.Tala waited in excitement for something to happen.He was amased when the surface of the rock turned a light,silwery colour,glowing in the dark.
Bryan almost fell over in surprise when that stone started glowing with a dim light.
"What the heck?"he mumbled to himself.He had never seen anything like it in his whole life before.There was definitely something weird going on here,he thought as he moved a little closer to get a better look at what was going on.He watched as the boy fell into Tala`s arms and held him tightly.Who was that boy?Bryan didnt believe in magic or something like that,but this sure wasnt normal!
"Hey Brookie,look!"Rei laughed and pointed at a statue.He turned around,only to find that his boyfriend was having trouble standing straight,his face paler than a sheet.Worried that something might be seriously wrong he ran over to the other angel and supported him.
"Are you alright?"he asked.Brooklyn nodded and rubbed his forehead.
"Kai actually did it..He found the prison and opened it!"he stated and took Rei`s hand.
"Zeuz,take us there!"he hollared.His beast let them climb her before she started running,Driger close behind.
Tala stared in awe.The angel took his hand and lead him towards the gate,biting his lip nervously.Tala saw how nervous he was,and squeesed his hand lightly."Dont worry,you can do it.I am by your side",he encouraged.The angel nodded and hesitated for a moment before he stepped through the glowing barrier.Then everything went black.
Bryan was seriously starting to wonder if he had gone out of his mind by now.How could anyone disappear like that???He felt confused,but the confusion was soon replaced with anger as he growled and stepped closer,entering the portal aswell.
Brooklyn and the other came to the park,Zeuz leading the way.Both the Black Angel and his beast could feel the gate being very close now.
"I hope we get there on time...",Brooklyn muttered and urged his beast to go faster.They found the glowling stone with ease and stopped in front of it.The boys climbed down from Zeuz`s back.
"As I feared..We are too late...Kai has already entered the prison...,"the Dark Angel sighed.Rei looked at him with worried eyes.
"He wont be hurt,will he?"he asked,fear thick in his voice.His heart fell when he heard what what Brooklyn answered.
"He might be killed.Those who dont know how to get through the trials may not make it back outside alive".Rei felt tears form in his golden eyes.He grabbed Brooklyn by the collar of his shirt,pulling him close.
"But you have to do something!!Go save him,Brookie!"he begged.Brooklyn`s face turned a serious expression,the one of the Dark Angel.
"I know how to make it through,trust me.I wont let Kai down",he promised and told the beasts to look after Rei as he entered the portal himself.
Kai felt strangely lightheaded when he regained consciousness again.Warm air was blowing into his face,stroking his cheeks with a feather-light touch.He blinked.What was this place?He was hanging in the air,everything around him all blue as far as the eye could see.
"Where am I?"he asked no one in particular.And where was Tala?Was he alright?The wind stopped blowing,and a strange figure started taking form in front of him.It turned into a little girl with long,darkblue hair and heavenly,golden eyes.Kai could feel that this creature was no ordinary girl.He could feel power flow from her,she litherally vibrated with it.Then she smiled,the bright smile of a little child.
"Why have you come here,pretty boy?"she asked,her heavenly eyes measuring him with their depths.He swallowed and opened his mouth to answer.The girl floated closer to him,reaching out her hand to touch his forehead.
"No need to speak,pretty boy",she smiled.Her voice..It seemed to come from all around,not just from her.It was confusing.He kept still as her little fingers pressed lightly against his forehead.He could feel her go through his mind.After a little while she removed her hand and smiled up at him.
"Your quest is to find your precious Dranzer right?"He nodded nervously.The little girl chuckled.
"Dont worry,I wont stop those who come here for the sake of love and friendship",she assured him.She sighed.
"You must be wondering where your lover is.."Kai swallowed again,afraid that Tala might be hurt in any way.She wawed her hand,and Tala materialised in front of them.Kai felt relief as he saw that the redhead was alright.He appeared to be in a state of deep sleep,his chest slowly rising and falling.The girl followed his stare.
"Oh,he is fine.Just sleeping,that is all",she chuckled.
"Humans are not supposed to be here you know,and yet there are two here tonight",she stated.Kai frowned.Two?The girl nodded.So she was reading his mind too.
"The other one is a ruthless, young man that has no soul or heart.I wont go easy on him",she said and crossed her arms.How can I find Dranzer?he thought.She looked him straight in the eye.Those eyes of hers..They were so deep and loving,not the eyes of the little girl she was.She smiled at him again,only her eyes showing that she was serious.
"Just let your heart guide you to her.If you can excuse me,I have another visitor...I wonder what the Black Angel is up to this time".Kai`s eyes widened as he heard whom she spoke of.Brooklyn was here too?He closed his eyes and concentrated hard on finding Darnzer.
