Chapter 10

 

"Kari your stomach is starting to look round!" Hotaru said happily.

"Well I'll be three in a half months in a few days. So I'll start to show."

"I see, have you decided on a name yet?" Rei asked.

"No I haven't" 'he said a name for him, what did he mean?'

"Let me decide please...!" Mina went unheard by Kari who was lost in thought.

Kari's thoughts were interrupted by arguing.

"You're not naming her baby Mina!" Serena said quite loudly.

"Why do you care Serena? You didn't think of a smart name for Kari, silly meatball head!" Rei cut in.

"Butt out Rei, besides you never even let the beginning of a name come out your mouth!" Serena shot back.

"That's because Kero-chan interrupted me and then everyone else did!" shouted Rei.

"I have the most beautiful name in the galaxy I should get to name her!" Lita stated forcefully.

"I'm the princess of Venus. They say girl's come from Venus and Clow said the baby will be a girl. If girls come from my planet I should get to name her!" Mina stuck her tongue out at Serena.

"But Darien is Kari's godfather, he will want me to name her!"

"So what if Darien is her godfather. We're all like family to Kari!" piped in Hotaru.

"Oh... don't remind us Hotaru!” Amara moaned.

"Please everyone don't argue over my child's name. Besides, only me & Yue are going to give her her name.”

“Spoken like a champion!” Trista stated.

“So true.” Michelle said.

“Aw..but I want to give her a name too!” Mina & Serena both whined.

“Serena is such a royal pain in the ass!” Rei said nonchalantly.

“What was that Rei!” Serena screamed.

“Now now girls no need to get a hissy fit!” Michelle tried to stop them but couldn't succeed.

The usual arguing ensued & this time Kari, who was very hormonal at this time, decided to put the arguing girls in their place.

 

“Stop it, both of you right now! You're giving me a headache. If you don't shut your damn mouths right now I'm kicking you out, do you understand!” She screamed at the two startled girls who didn't respond.

Everyone sat staring at Kari, not believing what they had just herd come from her usually calm mouth. Trista decided to try to calm her with a light massage to her slightly swollen feet.

“It's ok Kari you know they have to work on their maturity!” Trista stated matter of factly.

“I agree with you Trista.” Hotaru said while grabbing a brush from the nearby dresser. She began lightly brushing Kari's seemingly endless sea of hair while whispering to her. “It's ok Kari don't let them get to you. Picture a warm beach, soft sand between your toes, a cold lemonade, Yue, however you perceive him at his sexiest!” Hotaru along with the others and Kari began to giggle hysterically.

“I always see him as a sexy hunk of a guy especially without clothes on!” She began to laugh harder and the other girls `ooed' and laughed themselves to tears.

"I have an idea that might work!” Amy spoke up after she calmed down.

“What's that Amy?” Lita asked.

“Well since everyone wants to name the baby, we should all give her a name & everyone can call her that name they gave her!"

"Why would we want to give her 10 different names? Wouldn't she get confused as to what her real name is!" said Michelle.

“She has a point.” Lita spoke.

Amy spoke up again "children are actually quite smart. As long as everyone calls her by her real name for about her first full year of life she'll know what her name is, trust me!"

"Alright then Ames I'll do it!" said Lita.

"I will too!" said Serena.

"Count me in. I'll think of the most cutest name ever!" said Mina.

"I don't know why but I'll do it!" said Trista with a heavy sigh.`How do I let them talk me into stuff like this?' she thought to herself.

“I guess I'll go along with this. Maybe it'll work." said Rei.

"You do Rei? Because I don't see it working in the future" said Michelle.

"Come on Michelle. Like Amy said once she gets to be a certain age she'll understand all the different names. How hard can it be? Most parents call their children sweetheart, but I have yet to see a kid say “my names sweetheart”! It'll be just like that” said Amara.

 

“I get what you're saying. I'll do it then, couldn't hurt to have fun!” Michelle agreed.

"Me first, me first!” Serena jumped up & down excitedly. “Can I call her princess!" said Serena joyfully.

“Sure Serena that's ok” Kari laughed “next?”

“I think I'll call her Small lady" said Trista.

"That's cute Trista!" said Kari.

Amara had a devious grin on her face "I'll call her, Ike!" said Amara.

Everyone stared at her like she was crazy and Kari eyed her evilly.

"What? You said anything! Alright alright, I'll call her...Tima. Like that better! "

"Yes- very- much- thank you. Tima that's so cute maybe that should be her name?" replied Kari with a renewed smile.

“Are you serious that's what you're going to name her!” Lita said a little too jealously.

“Calm down Lita I'll consider it!” Kari reassured the lightning sailor soldier who was eyeing Amara evilly.

"I'll call her little angel because I'm sure she'll look like you Kari" said Michelle.

"That's pretty Michelle, and thank you!" Kari replied blushing that someone had said she looked like an angel.

"Don't be disappointed Kari because I'm calling her by whatever name you give her!" said Hotaru.

"I see nothing wrong with that Hotaru. That's nice of you to be simple, not complicated, like some peo-p-le" Kari said.

“I thought you liked this idea Kari!” Amy said a little upset and accusingly.

“I really do Amy. I find it quite fun to hear the names you come up with, but It's also complicated when you look at it all the way through.”

"Ok ok enough with the chit chat! Can we get back to this name game?” Lita rushed them secretly hoping to top Amara and have her name considered to be the permanent name of the unborn baby girl. “I think I'll call her...Kaori!" said Lita.

"Alright Lita that's really cute!" Kari smiled

“And!” Lita said expectantly.

“And what!” Kari asked.

 

“That's all, nothing special about that name. It's not going to be the `one'?” Lita emphasized one with quotation of the fingers.

“Well yeah, but, what's the `one'!” Kari imitated her but was really confused at this point.

“Never mind her Kari. She means will you pick that name for the baby. It's another failed `top Amara' scheme of hers!” Mina explained.

“Shut up Mina. What do you know!” Lita threatened the love soldier with her fist and Mina retaliated with her own.

Kari quickly reminded them. “Don't you dare! The same thing that goes for Serena and Rei goes for you two, & you & Amara as well Lita! I'm warning you don't fight around me or her when she's born. I don't want her picking up your bad habits!”

“She started it Kari!” Mina pointed to Lita.

“I don't care who started it, drop it or I'll finish it! I'm pregnant, I'm very hormonal, & I'm dangerously short tempered so I don't want to hear it!” Kari backed her threat with a serious glare to the three girls who gulped & sat as straight as little kids when a teacher walks into the room.

"Thanks, now I'll call her-“ Rei stopped as Yue came into the room.

“Hi honey!” Kari greeted as she pulled herself up to get off her bed.

“Stop don't get up Kari!” Yue ran to her & sat her back down.

“I'm ok now Yue. My feet feel better thanks to Trista.”

“Are you sure? Does it still hurt? Your feet still look a little swollen!” Yue checked her every sore.

“He's so protective of you Kari!” Hotaru giggled along with the other princesses.

“I know, honey I'm ok now really!” Kari tried to reassure him, but of course the angelic husband was paying as much attention as a tomb stone.

“Are you hungry at all? Do you want something to drink? Are you too hot or cold? You look a little flushed are you tired? Maybe you should go to bed early. Would you like a back rub? What about a bubble bath!” Yue rambled on and Kari rolled her eyes.

The questions were as endless as their galaxy perhaps even annoying, but Kari took them as patiently as she could. Sure he was babying her, but he loved her & was doing it to make her first pregnancy as comfortable as possible.

“No thanks Yue, but I do want something.” Kari smiled up at him.

“Some ice cream? I'll get your favorite, chocolate chip!”

 

“Umm...Yue, we don't have chocolate chip in the palace right now. Believe me, I checked!” Serena said guiltily knowing she was the one who ate the last of it.

“Well I'll go get some! Even if it means going to another planet I'll get her some!” Yue said determined. All the girls just laughed.

“It's ok Yue I don't want ice cream. I want a kiss.” she told him boldly.

“A kiss?” Yue asked.

“Yes, a big, wet kiss!” she said in a nasty way that made the other girls gag.

Yue leaned in to give her a kiss and just when their lips were about to meet he asked “are you sure you don't want the ice cream?”

Kari giggled and replied “shut up & kiss me Yue!”

“Why last?” Serena looked hurt.

“You'll see. Hurry Lita, Amy, Rei if you want to feel!” She looked to the three princesses who quickly ran over & took a quick feel.

 

Once everyone moved Serena came forward. Kari instructed her to get on her knees & place her whole head on her stomach. She did and after a few seconds laughed.

“Is she hyper or what? What did you eat today pure sugar!” Serena laughed as the baby kicked a response.

“She must like your voice. She hasn't given such a response before. She's been big enough to kick me since last week!” Kari smiled.

“You think? Hello in there, I'm your god grandmother Princess Serena of the moon. Your mommy's trying to figure out what to call you, but don't worry we'll have it figured out before you come out of there. We'll have so much fun together! I'm going to buy you clothes, shoes, & jewelry! I'll take you ice skating, horseback riding & a lot of other cool stuff! Spoil you like a grandmother should!” Serena said to the baby girl who just kicked her approval.

“Ok ok Serena you have to stop talking to her now, she's getting over excited! God she's kicking like crazy on my bladder. I'll have to keep running to the bathroom now!” Kari pouted.

“Oops sorry about that!” Serena said to Kari who was running to her bathroom.

“Well if she doesn't need anything I'll be leaving now.” Yue said a little sadly.

Trista, sensing this tried to cheer him up. “Don't worry Yue she'll need you in time.” the oldest sailor scout smiled.

“Yes she'll be begging for you when she goes into labor.” Michelle prompted.

“Is it that painful Michelle!” Mina asked curiously frightened.

“Hell yeah, haven't you seen a woman in labor? It's like the most scariest moment not to mention painful! Amara answered.

“That's true. It won't be long before Kari goes through the same thing.” Amy said.

“I don't want her to be in pain. Not like that.” Yue spoke feeling guilty this pain was his fault.

“Don't worry Yue she can handle it. Kari is strong. I bet it'll only take her a few minuets to bring your daughter into the world.” Hotaru said cheerfully.

Yue left smiling truly believing they were right. His feisty, caring, 21 year old wife of 4 months could stand anything for their love, even him.

Kari came back sighing “1 trip down, who knows how many more to go.” She looked around “he left already? Jeesh he could've at least said good night!” She complained sitting back down.

“Stop complaining he does so much for you already Kari.” Trista said.

“Yeah he was in the dumps about you not working him like an earth slave!” Amara said smiling.

 

“Yeah I know. I appreciate absolutely everything he's doing for me right now. Heaven knows I can't stand doing a lot of things nowadays. Especially since I spend most of my mornings with my new friend toilet bowl. Imagine not being able to eat as soon as you wake up, but instead you throw up the crap you ate the night before plus any midnight snacks in between!” Kari ranted.

“& that's what it'll remain as, an imaginable idea!” Amara said sharply.

“Amara isn't the kid lover is she?” Rei stated.

“When hell freezes over!” Amara replied.

“Ok but I'd like to move on now, the name I'll call her is Emerald!" said Rei

"Emerald huh? What made you think of that Rei"? Kari asked.

"In a fire reading I did just a few days ago I saw you with a girl with green eyes. Emerald green eyes. They were so beautiful, but that's all I saw was those beautiful emerald eyes.” Rei looked rather spacey.

"Oh ok well I like it" said Kari. “Amy you haven't gone yet & then finally Mina!”

"I'll call her...Alima" said Amy.

"Alima!" said the other girls.

"yes it's-." Amy tried to explain her choice.

Mina cut her off "but Ames what kinda name is Alima!"

"You didn't let me finish. Alima was the first woman to explore the earth a long long time ago. I found her in one of my text books!"

"Oh no not again!" everyone groaned.

"I like it Amy!" said Kari. Everyone stared at her like she was crazy.

"You do?" they all asked surprised.

"Yes as a matter of fact I do. There's nothing wrong with a name from history you should be ashamed of yourselves!” Kari replied

"Well good because my names gonna be the best of all. I'm going to call her-" before Mina could say anything a voice yelled down the hall.

"We're under attack, we're under attack, everyone get ready we need you!"

The girls ran outside Kari's bedroom door. Artemis & Luna were the ones yelling down the hallway. Everyone was rushing down the palace hallways soldiers & maids.

"Girls!" Luna yelled "we need you, the kingdom is under attack!"

"Luna what's going on. Who's attacking!” Lita asked.

 

"No time, transform. Serena, Kari come with me, you two have to stay safe!" Luna started to take off, but Kari wouldn't move.

"You herd her let's go!" yelled Mina.

“No you can't, you'll die!” Kari yelled tears forming in her ruby eyes.

“We have to protect everyone Kari!” Hotaru smiled knowing Kari knew what was going to happen.

“That's right even if it takes our lives we have to protect Queen Serenity, Serena, & the kingdom.” Michelle offered her support along with Amara, but Kari couldn't accept that.

“It doesn't matter because they're going to die too. What'll it be for if you all die along with them? No one can be saved then!” Kari cried uncontrollably.

“We know, & that's why we're going.” Trista kissed her for what she believed the last time.

“Goodbye.” She smiled then ran off to fight, followed by the other outter scouts then finally the inner scouts.

They ran down the halls swiftly. They went to meet Beryl, Queen of the Negaverse.

"Let's do it!" said Mars.

“Mercury Star Power!”

“Mars Star Power!”

“Jupiter Star Power!”

“Venus Star Power!”

“Uranus Planet Power!”

“Neptune Planet Power!”

“Pluto Planet Power!”

“Saturn Planet Power!”

In a flash the princesses were replaced by the Sailor Scouts. "Ha.ha the universe is finally mine!" claimed Beryl.

"Don't count on it you evil witch!" a female voice challenged.

"Who's there!"

"We are the sailor soldiers sworn to protect the Moon kingdom from trash like you!"

 

"How dare you speak to me like that?" Beryl threw a blast of energy at the scouts and they dodged it.

"Let's attack together guys!" said Venus.

“Mercury Bubble Blast!”

“Mars Fire Ignite!”

“Jupiter Thunder Crash!”

“Venus Crescent Beam Smash!”

“Uranus World Shaking!”

“Neptune Deep Submerge!”

“Pluto Deadly Scream!”

“Saturn Glaive Surprise!”

They attacked together, but Beryl had a sheiled around her. When she attacked them back Venus, Mars, Jupiter, & Mercury didn't get back up.

"Mercury ,Venus, Mars, Jupiter!" yelled Uranus.

"Oh no!" said Pluto

"This can't be happening. They can't be...!" cried Neptune staring at the motionless bodies on the ground.

"Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter!" Saturn yelled.

Beryl laughed insanely "don't say goodbye Sailor Scouts. You'll be joining your friends right now followed by Queen Serenity and her retched daughter!"

"Saturn glaive Surprise!” Furious, Saturn tried her attack again.

Beryl hit her back into a pillar knocking it down "Sailor Saturn!” the rest cried but she didn't get back up.

"No.. not Saturn no..!" Uranus yelled.

"She's too strong for the three of us. Our only hope is if Queen Serenity uses the Silver Imperium Crystal to save everyone!" said Pluto.
