Lights sprout up around the room as torches are light. In front of her is a group of three people in robes. Behind her is a group of creatures wearing cloaks.

“What do I have to do to get him back?”

“You will have to go through a series of challenges, if you win you two go back, if you lose I get to keep both of you.” Says a female.

“Alright.”

“It was the hardest thing I have ever done.”

“I am sorry.” Li whispers.

“Why did you die on me though?”

“I tried to protect you but I got so hurt and I couldn't take it anymore. I was happy knowing the last thing I saw was you…”

“Li…”

“I love you my lil' Firefly.”

She giggles looking away.

He places his hand on her chin lifting it up to him, he bends to her, “I love yo…”

“LI!!!” Yells Meilin running to them.

Li pulls away from Hotaru.

“Maybe another time,” she whispers before jumping into the trees running off.

“Who was that?”

“An old friend…” Li answers.

“Ah… Who?”

“Just an old friend.” He says as he starts to walk away.

Meilin runs next to him wrapping her arms around his left one as he puts his hands in his pockets. He moves from her.

“What was that for?!”

“Meilin… I am not in the mood to play games right now and you know it.”

He walks off to his house surrounded by cherry blossom trees and exotic flowers. He walks inside and goes to his room, shutting and locking the door.

“Hello.”

Li quickly jumps around in a fighting stance, but stops.

“My parents are fighting again; I didn't know where to go.”

“Come here.”

Hotaru walks to him.

He quickly wraps his arms around her, picking her up bridal style to lie down next to him on the bed. “You are mine, now and forever and don't you dare forget that.”

“How can I? You won't go away.” Hotaru giggles.

Li smiles gently into her hair as she rests her head on his chest. He kisses her neck.

“Stay here with me?”

“What?”

“Move in with me, it gets lonely here and I would like to have someone here with me.”

“But… I can't…I don't think…”

“Just sleep on it please?” Li asks almost begging.

“Alright, I'll think on it.”

They roll over into one another's arms to sleep.

Hotaru opens her eyes to see many stairs in front of her. “What now?” she asks.

A dark form stands behind her, breathing really hard.

Hotaru quickly jumps around to see who it is, “Who are you?”

The form comes into the light to show Li standing their.

“Li?”

Li moves towards her, his eyes turning pure black.

“What has happened to you?” Hotaru asks.

Li pulls his sword out and jumps at her slashing her shoulder.

“Ahh!” Hotaru screams falling back holding her arm.

Li keeps attacking her as Hotaru just lays there. He stops after a moment letting Hotaru up.

“Why?” she asks weakly.

“You are nothing to me,” he says sinisterly to her.

Hotaru's eyes begin to water.

“How pathetic, I can't believe I ever liked you.” He laughs.

She moves from him, stumbling. “I can't believe it, I don't believe it!” She screams at him.

He attacks her again but Hotaru dodges while hitting him in the back of his head with a stick she picks up. He falls over unconscious.

“I'm sorry…” she whispers.

The room quickly changes and she is back in the main room with the people in cloaks.

“What the…”

“You have finished your first task, but the second won't be as easy.”

“You called that easy?!”

“You succeeded, that is all that matters.”

“But why him?”

“Because you had to end his torment.”

“What are you talking about?” Hotaru asks giving the person a strange look.

“You will see…”

Hotaru is quickly thrown to the ground. She looks up to see she is in another room. Candles all around and all sorts of weapons rest along the walls.

“Now what?”
