Chapter 39

"The Final Battle"

"We have to do something or the planet will be destroyed!" exclaimed Joey.

"Right!" agreed Sakura taking her wand out. "This is your last chance Diamond!"

Diamond laughed. "Number one, I can't stop it, and number two, you are no match to me."

"Wanna bet?" asked Sakura.

"That's sounds awfully like a challenge." Said Diamond.

"I can take you down any time, any place."

"All right, then." Said Diamond. He chanted something and everyone teleported to this big room. The room was HUGE! It had an ocean of quicksand underneath the platform.

"What the heck? Where are we?" asked Sakura.

"We're in the compete bottom of the colony." Answered Diamond.

Sakura noticed something, where were friends?

"What have you done to my friends?" asked Sakura.

Diamond pointed to a coliseum. "Right in there."

Sakura had to cross the quicksand to get over there. "After I'm done with you, I'm going to fly over there!"

"Whatever, let's just finish this!' exclaimed Diamond. "The first part of this battle will be an easy task." Diamond lifted his hands and pointy thorns appeared on every corner.

"What are you doing?" asked Sakura confused.

"I'm going to kill you!" exclaimed Diamond taking his sword out. "But beware, once you hit the thorns, you will die!"

"We'll see about that!" exclaimed Sakura. She turned her key into a wand. "Sword!" The wand formed into a sword. She ran to Diamond and stabbed him in the chest. Diamond laid there.

"That was too easy." Said Sakura.

"Not, uh, quite." Said Diamond.

"What?"

"RECOVERY!" exclaimed Diamond. Seconds later, he was recovered. He laughed. "At this rate, you'll never defeat me!"

Sakura gasped. = How am I suppose to beat him? =

"Now for part two!" exclaimed Diamond raising his hand. All of the sudden, the ground began to shake. This time, there were about ten thorns in each corner, surrounding Sakura and Diamond with just little space.

"Enough!" exclaimed Sakura. "Fire, destroy these thorns!"

Diamond grinned and raised his hand again. "METALIC THORNS RISE!"

Before fire hit the thorns, they turned into metal, causing no effect.

Sakura gasped.

"You have no chance against me!" exclaimed Diamond jumping to attack Sakura.

"Shield!" yelled Sakura. A shield blocked Diamond's attack.

"And now, reflect!" yelled Sakura. This caused Diamond to fall into the thorns.

Sakura closed her eyes.

CRACK! Diamond landed on the thorns. "AAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH! YOU'll PAY! RECOVERY!"

Diamond was back to normal.

"No way!" exclaimed Sakura.

"Ha! No harm done! Is that the best you got?" asked Diamond.

Sakura clenched her fist.

"Too bad. Because I have lots more tricks up my sleeve."

Diamond raised his hands again and chanted a spell. Sakura started flying, it was Diamond controlling her!

"Let me down!" exclaimed Sakura.

Diamond made the whole platform filled with metallic thorns. The only spot without thorns was where Diamond was.

Sakura gasped.

"All right, you want me to let go, I will."

"Don't you dare!" exclaimed Sakura.

Diamond waved his hands down.

Sakura was falling towards the thorns!

"You're going to enjoy part three!" exclaimed Diamond.

All of the sudden, Sakura was carried by wind.

"WHAT?!" yelled Diamond.

Then, Sakura disappeared.

"Syaoran and Yugi." Said Diamond. "They'll be back, and I'll be ready."

Inside the Coliseum…

Sakura was teleported inside. The first person she saw was Tea.

"Tea?" asked Sakura.

"Are you okay Sakura?" asked Tea.

"I'm fine. How did I escape?"

"Well, Syaoran used the wind to keep you up while Yugi teleported you here. They're a good team when they fight together."

"Yeah, but after this, I have to choose one of them. I mean, Yugi and I made up when Syaoran, or should I say Diamond, left. I loved Syaoran, though. I also love Yugi as much. Who should I choose? I mean, I've known Syaoran longer, but when I'm with Yugi, we have so much in common. What do I do?"

"Why don't you decide when we get out here?" asked Tea.

"Yeah." Answered Sakura.

Syaoran and Yugi entered the room. "Are you all right?" they asked at the same time.

"Yes. Thanks a lot." Answered Sakura.

"No problem." Said Yugi.

"Yeah. Anything for my Sakura." Said Syaoran.
Yugi got a little mad. "Your Sakura? She was dating me!"

"Only because Diamond told her I didn't love her! If it wasn't for him, we'd still be together!" exclaimed Syaoran.

"Enough!" exclaimed Sakura. "We'll figure this out later. Right now, I have to finish my battle with Diamond."

"You're right. I'm sorry." Said Yugi.

"Yeah, me too." Said Syaoran.

Sakura looked around. "Where's Joey and Tomoyo?" she asked.

"They're upstairs." Answered Tea.

Sakura saw carvings on the walls. "I wonder why Diamond teleported you in here."

"Who knows?" asked Joey. "So, who's going to battle him now?"

"Syaoran, Yugi, and I are going to battle him." Answered Sakura. "Now let's go. We're going to crash into earth unless we do something. Come on!"

All three of them flew over towards Diamond. The metallic thorns were gone, so they landed.

"Sorry for the little break." Said Sakura.

Diamond smiled. "It's okay. I've been doing some thinking about our battle. It's too--- simple. I want an exciting battle, and I've decided where to go."

"Where?" asked Sakura.

Diamond smiled. = My plan is working! =

"I would tell you, but I have a little errand to take care of first." He pointed his finger to Sakura and pointed up. This caused Sakura to fly again.

"Let her go!" exclaimed Yugi.

"In a minute." Said Diamond.

All of the sudden, the Yellow Card flew out of Sakura's pocket.

"NO!" yelled Sakura.

Diamond laughed. "I will finally have ultimate power!" he exclaimed when he got the card.

"I have all seven cards!"

"You won't in a moment!" exclaimed Syaoran running towards him. Before he attacked him, Diamond sent him and Yugi up in the air as well.

"No more interruptions. Now, I can get my wish!"

"NO! LET US GO!" exclaimed Yugi.

Diamond smiled looking at the cards. "Ah, I can feel the strong aura! All right, I SUMMON THE RAINBOW SPIRIT! COME GRANT ME A WISH!"

The spirit returned, now filled with each color. "It's about time, master! I was beginning to doubt you!"

"Yes, of course. I'm so sorry!" exclaimed Diamond. "At least you are free. Now, for my wishes,"

"Silence!" exclaimed the spirit. "You kept me asleep for over five thousand years, and you expect an award for that? Well, do you?"

"Stop talking and obey me!" yelled Diamond.

The spirit looked like he was going to kill Diamond, but he gave up. "Very well, you have three wishes."

"Right! For my first wish, I wish for ultimate power!"

"NOOOOO!!" exclaimed Sakura.

Nothing happened.

"Didn't you hear me? I want ultimate power!" exclaimed Diamond.

"But master, you don't need ultimate power, you have enough strength to destroy all of these humans!"

Diamond growled. "I DON'T CARE! GIVE ME MY WISHES!" exclaimed Diamond.

"No! I've had enough of you!" exclaimed the spirit starting to attack.

"Stop this! I'm your master!" exclaimed Diamond trying to escape.

"From now on, I have no master!" exclaimed the spirit getting inside Diamond's body.

"Ah, I finally have a full body again. It was hard being in seven different locations."

Sakura, Syaoran, and Yugi landed on the ground.

"Don't think you're getting off to easily. I myself want to destroy you! Now, I will take to the battle area my so-called master wanted."

In seconds, they were teleported into space. On their left side, was earth. On their right side, was the space colony.

"We're in space?" asked Yugi.

"Yes. Let's make it a fair match." Said Diamond (the spirit's inside Diamond so I'm going to call him Diamond).

Sakura, Syaoran, and Yugi were able to float and breathe in space.

"You don't have a lot of time to beat me. The space colony will probably hit you along with the planet."

Sakura looked at the space colony and smiled. "How about we make a deal? If we win, you grant us one wish, which will be to stop the space colony. If we lose, we'll go down with the space colony."

Yugi looked at Sakura. "Sakura, what about the wish to destroy the cards?"

"That's not our problem right now."

"Right."

Diamond grinned. "All right, then. Let's begin the final battle!"

Diamond got his rainbow wand out. "The only cards I'll use will the rainbow cards!"
Sakura gasped. "Guys, how am I going to beat him with those cards?"

"You can't." answered Syaoran.

"By yourself, that is." Said Yugi.

"YELLOW CARD!" exclaimed Diamond. He flew directly at Syaoran and punched in the stomach.

Syaoran yelled in pain. "You, son of a,"

Diamond punched him again.

All of the sudden, Syaoran began to fall down.

Diamond laughed. "Did I mention that if you lose your energy, you fall down?"

Sakura gasped. "SYAORAN!" She flew down to save him. It was hard, but she caught him.

"Heal Card!" exclaimed Sakura. Syaoran was healed in seconds.

"Sakura. When did you make that card?" asked Syaoran.

"I'll tell you later, right now, we have a battle to finish."

She flew back to the original spot.

Diamond frowned. = At that rate, I'll never kill them. =

He smiled. "Sorry, but this battle will never end, I have to make it more exciting." He created a barrier underneath everyone.

"What's that?" asked Yugi.

"It's a special barrier. Once you fall, you cannot return."

"Are you sure?" asked Sakura. "Because I can save them!"
Diamond laughed. "That's where you're wrong! Once someone goes in the barrier, no one can go back in. After one falls, I'll simply make another one."

"Why are you doing this? You don't have to be like Diamond!" exclaimed Sakura.

"That is true, but I did kill the guy, he's my master. The least I can do is finish you off for him."

Sakura frowned. = This is going to be the hardest battle I've ever been in! I hope I can beat him… =

"ALL RIGHT! LET'S STOP WASTING TIME AND BEGIN!" yelled Diamond.

Syaoran frowned. "Let's do it! We can beat him if we work together!"

"Yeah." Agreed Sakura and Yugi.

Diamond grinned.

"Ok." Said Sakura taking her wand out. "This is the final battle of our exciting adventure." She gasped.

"What's wrong?'' asked Yugi.

"Diamond stole my cards!" exclaimed Sakura.

Syaoran and Yugi gasped. "WHAT?"
"ENOUGH TALK! LET'S BATTLE!" yelled Diamond flying towards them.

"Wait! We don't have cards!" exclaimed Sakura.

"I DON'T CARE! YOU CAN'T BEAT ME WITH THEM ANYWAYS!" he yelled kicking Yugi.

"AAGGHH!" yelled Yugi falling down.

"YUGI!" exclaimed Sakura.

Yugi held his millennium item while he was falling.

"Don't fail me now!" he exclaimed. "YU-GI-OH!" He transformed and started flying up.

Sakura and Syaoran sighed. "That was close."

Diamond spat. "This is so boring!"

This was Sakura's chance to convince him. "We know this isn't challenging, so why don't you give us some of the rainbow cards? That way, we'll be equal."

"IT'S TOO LATE! THE CARDS ARE INSIDE ME! DUH!"

"We're running out of ideas." Said Sakura.

"We'll just have to battle with what we've got." Said Syaoran.

"ENOUGH! I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL FOR MAKING ME WAIT!" yelled Diamond flying towards Sakura this time.

Syaoran had an idea. "Sakura, how did you heal me?"

"With the heal Card." Answered Sakura.

"Didn't Diamond take the cards?" asked Yugi.

Diamond was getting closer to Sakura.

"Yeah, I guess I wanted the cards very badly! Maybe I can get them all back!" exclaimed Sakura.

Diamond was only several feet from Sakura.

Sakura concentrated real hard. "FIRE!"

The fire card created in Sakura's hand.

Diamond was now a couple inches away from Sakura.

= Come on! I need an idea. Fire isn't going to help me. Well, maybe I can burn his eyes! That would make everything easier! =

"FIRE! BURN THE SPIRIT'S, OR DIAMOND'S, EYES! FIRE!" she yelled.

"What?" asked Diamond. Seconds later, fire burned his eyes. "AAAAAGGGGGGHHH! MY EYES! I'M BLIND!" he yelled in pain.

"Yes! We're going to finish this battle in no time! But first, I want revenge for him punching me!" exclaimed Syaoran charging towards Diamond.

Yugi sensed something evil. "Wait Syaoran!"

"Don't be a party pooper! I'll let you beat him up after I get my revenge!" exclaimed Syaoran.

"I'm serious! STOP!" yelled Yugi.

"Make me!" exclaimed Syaoran. = He's just jealous because I'm going to get the victory and Sakura. Ha! I'm not going to let him take all the glory. = He flew faster.

"Argh! That Jack@$$!" exclaimed Yugi.

Syaoran finally punched Diamond in the stomach. Diamond yelled out in pain. Syaoran, however, enjoyed it. Soon, Diamond couldn't take it anymore and began falling.

"HA! I knew it! He has no strength, what a fake!" exclaimed Syaoran.

Yugi frowned. = Stop it Syaoran, before you make him mad, this isn't over yet! =

Diamond grinned. "HEALING!" he yelled. He got his sight and his strength back.
Syaoran gasped. "What?"

Diamond laughed. "You think you would get rid of me so easily? I'm sick and tired of this, I'm going to destroy all of you!" He pointed his finger at Sakura. "Enjoy your last breath."
Sakura closed her eyes.

"DARK MAGIC ATTACK!" exclaimed Diamond.

A black beam headed for Sakura.

"SAKURA!" exclaimed Syaoran and Yugi.

All of the sudden, a shield appeared in front of Sakura. The beam hit it and disappeared.
Sakura opened her eyes. "What? No blast?"

"Nope." Answered a voice behind her.
Sakura turned around and gasped. It was Cerberus and Yue.

"Cerberus? Yue?" asked Syaoran.

Sakura hugged both of them. "Where have you been?"

"All of us down at earth were studying this colony, the whole world knows about its crash course!" exclaimed Cerberus.

"Where's Meiling and everyone else?" asked Sakura.

"They're all inside." Answered Yue. He looked at Cerberus. "Well, are you going to tell her?"

"Yes, of course." Answered Cerberus.

"Tell me what?" asked Sakura.

"Sakura, you already know that you have no chance against this spirit, not even the Clow Cards can help you now." Said Cerberus.

Sakura formed tears in her eyes. "I know! I failed earth!"

The space colony was a couple of kilometers away from them.

Cerberus smiled. "No you didn't, there's one plan that can do it all."

Sakura wiped her eyes. "How?"

"You won't like the idea at first, but you'll know it's the only way. Now, if Yue and I go inside your wand, the wand will become invinsible!"

"Are you sure? I mean, it did beat Eriol, but Diamond's much stronger."

"Not exactly, if we give our lives away, then it will be stronger." Answered Cerberus.
Sakura eyes widened. "You mean?"

Cerberus nodded.

Sakura looked down. "All right." She hugged them hard for the last time. She cried more tears again. "I'll miss you both."

They turned into blue beams and went inside the wand. The wand grew bigger and bigger. It was now as tall as Sakura.

Diamond grinned and raised his hands. Once again, they were teleported. This time, they were teleported to earth.

"Why are we here?" asked Sakura. She looked around and saw that Diamond wasn't around. "Where is he?"

Syaoran and Yugi looked around.

"I'M UP HERE!" yelled Diamond. The space colony was a tiny speck compared to Diamond. "I'VE DECIDED TO MAKE EARTH'S END MORE, UMM, LESS SAD! BY MAKING THEM EXTINCT!"

His hands were filled with billions of beams. "EXTINCTION!" he yelled.

Syaoran got his sword out and shot a green beam.

All of the beams disappeared.

Diamond growled. "All right, if you want to die so bad, then so be it!"

"Fine! I'm coming right up!" exclaimed Syaoran.

"Syaoran, wait!" yelled Sakura.

"Yes?" asked Syaoran.

Sakura took some energy from her wand. "Here. It will help you battle him."
The energy went inside Syaoran's stomach.

"Thanks." He flew to Diamond.

"Good luck." Said Sakura.

"Hey Sakura," said Yugi. "Can I ask you something? Something important."

"Sure." Answered Sakura.
Yugi reached inside his pocket and touched a small case. = Is now a good time? =
