*Evil cackles*! Yue is *so* going to play with Syaoran…
Syaoran: Eek!
Hm. This has suddenly become a crossover with the King Arthur movie. I'll set it 6 months earlier…
Disclaimer: Don't own CCS or King Arthur. `Nuff said
Notes: ** for thoughts. This will be Yue x Syaoran
Chapter 2
Three days had passed since they met up with Commander Arthur's party and his knights. They were now nearing Hadrian's Wall. It was within a mile or so…
It seemed all of the knights had tried to hit on him one way or another, but Yue had ignored their advances, and last night when…Dagonet had tried to sneak into bed with him, he had found himself on the receiving end of Syaoran's sword, thus proving that no, it was not just for decoration, and yes, the boy had been trained.
Well, that had deterred the others quite nicely…
Sharing a bedroll with Clow's descendant was… odd. True, he was still young, but the intimacy was more than he would have liked.
It might have been suspicious otherwise, however, and they did not have another blanket to spare… so he'd endured it.
Syaoran was picking up English quite quickly… with the aid of one of the cards, Dash, to speed the process… However, he didn't speak it, preferring to listen to the others talk quietly. They believed the boy mute.
It was no matter to him…
“We have arrived.” Arthur smiled as Yue and Syaoran followed him into the fort. “Do not worry. I'm sure you can stay at the inn…”
“Many thanks for your kindness.” Yue said formally, and then nodded. Syaoran followed him quietly, as he began to speak to Vanora, the tavern wench, and Bors's wife-to-be… within moments, arrangements were made - he would get free room and board as long as he helped with the cooking and chores, and Syaoran did too.
It could have been worse…
Syaoran sighed. This was all his fault…. If only he hadn't used Return, they would not be stuck in the past for Lord knows how long…
Still, he'd try his best not to get in Yue's way and cause trouble… with a sigh; he picked up a dishrag and began to wash dishes…
It was quite dark before the work was done and he and Yue were sent upstairs to their room with orders to rest and be ready to work again tomorrow.
Yue watched as Syaoran slipped out of his green over-robe and slippers and flopped onto the bed. “You seem weary, Clow's descendant.”
“It's nothing.” * I deserve this punishment… and it wasn't so bad, just mind-numbing… however… I can't say that. *
“Very well.” Yue replied. He climbed into bed next to the boy, feeling him tense. So Syaoran did feel the pull…
His moon magic was bound to Clow's blood after all.
“Sleep…” Yue whispered, eyes glowing gold softly, as he used his hypnosis…
And Syaoran did, despite the pink tingeing his cheeks, he slept well…
“Quiet boy.” Vanora told Bors as they lay in bed together that night. “Shame he's mute…”
“I'm not sure he is.” Bors said quietly. “It seems so, but maybe he's just silent.”
“I only wish our children were that quiet!”
Bors sighed. “I see…”
The two soon decided, however, that there were better things to do then talk, so they commenced…
Two days later the knights rode off again.
“You know, I never thanked you.”
“Mm?” Syaoran yawned, having just woken up from the best night's sleep he'd gotten in a while. “What do you mean?”
“You saved those men from finding out my secret.”
Syaoran blinked at Yue for a few seconds, before the guardian decided to spell it out for him.
“Had you not interfered with your sword, the knight would have discovered I am not the female I appear to be.”
“Oh!” Syaoran colored. “It's nothing, Yue-san…”
“As you say. However, I offer my thanks despite the circumstances.”
“If it hadn't been for my folly we would not be here.” Syaoran muttered under his breath, but Yue did not reply.
Changing his robes for a gray homespun dress Vanora had kindly loaned him, Yue sighed as he tied his hair back out of the way. It was lucky they hadn't noticed how long his hair really was…
Well, no matter. For now, he would bear this place…
At the very least, it kept his mind off Clow's death…
“Time!”
What was the foolish boy doing now?
Yue watched in horror as the familiar brown spread over the area, and yes, time was moving forwards, trying to catch up with the present where the belonged, however…
“You idiot boy!” Yue shouted, as he forcibly took control of the card and shut it down. “Have you no sense at all? Using the Time card *would* have sent us to the future, but you don't have enough life to spare!”
Syaoran blinked fuzzily up at Yue in confusion.
“Look at yourself!”
Syaoran did, shakily, and bit back a cry of surprise. He had gained almost four inches in height and…
“You see? I highly doubt you will live a thousand years. You'd be dead in the attempt before we even made a dent in the distance!”
“I… I didn't think…”
“No, you obviously didn't, Clow's descendant.” Yue murmured. “Tis lucky that the card only affected your height…” The boy was still as slender as ever… his hair was slightly longer, but those minor differences could be hidden.
Syaoran flushed under Yue's scrutiny. * Can't I do anything right? *
“Well, now we both have work to do. We'll discuss later.”
Illusion… the card fell under his control, and he had hidden his hair and wings and otherworldly robes…
Syaoran would be fine though. If anyone asked, a growth spurt would explain things nicely…
The illusion hid Syaoran's robes and change in… age as well, so everything ought to be fine…
No doubt Return's power would wear off soon enough and they would be back in Tomoeda where they belonged…
He would just hold out until then.

Syaoran: Why am I such an idiot?
Phantomness; You're not really, I mean, it makes sense, but still…
Yue: …
Now, I'm taking liberties with the powers of Time and Return here. Hope nobody minds!
