Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Icy World ❯ The Battle and Confrontation ( Chapter 4 )
Disclaimers: Nope I don't own it. It belongs to someone else.
A little summary: "It is to either accept my challenge of a duel with magic. Or to lose all your magic." Sakura said.
The Battle and Confrontation
"Then I choose to duel. However, under one condition." Syaoran said. "Then what is your desire?" Sakura asked sharply. "To receive the information that you know of the murders and of the jewel if I win. But if I am to lose, then I would gladly let you take my life." Syaoran answered. "Fine with me. But I prefer to keep things clean as possible. If you lose, then I would cast you to the World of the Demons (A/N: it's the underworld…you know, Hades). But if I am to lose, then you can take my life after I give you my information." Sakura declaimed. "Key of the crystals, I, Sakura under the ice and star's contract. Release!" Gripping her black and white winged crystal staff, she chanted a spell. While doing that, she saw Syaoran draw out the Li Clan sword and some ofudas.
In an instant, a blizzard surrounded them and Eriol. Eriol took a step back just in case, to aid his half daughter. Slamming on an ofuda, Syaoran cried, "Lightning!" Dodging it with expertise, she attacked. "Shadow! Twin! Snow!" The three elements merged into the blizzard. It doubled and the snow increased. All of a sudden, Sakura disappeared. Syaoran having a difficult time to locate Sakura gave her a chance to strike. "Sword! Shield!" Cutting a long gash upon his upper arm, made him stumble back. (Damn! This girl's good! But I can't see her, so how can she see me? Unless…) His thoughts broke as Sakura lashed at him once again. Now fully prepared, he held out his sword in front and pushed it forward. This time, Sakura fell to the ground and disappeared into the shadow again. Panting, she said to herself "He is good, but not enough. Strong but powerless."
"Come out! Unless you are afraid to fight. Hiding in this storm, using the shadows as a diversion. Or I would have to fight until you are willing to die!" Syaoran yelled thru the howling of the winds. (Grr…. how dare he! Thinking I'm a coward when he is the one that is not fighting back!) Jumping out with a back flip, she pierced her sword into his shoulder deeply. Instantly, he cut her on the right side of her stomach, making her grimace. "Ice! Loop! Bind him!" she called out. Using his quick reflexes, he nimbly jumped up and slammed out another ofuda, "Fire! Melt the ice!" he commanded. Quickly, he flipped behind Sakura, and instead of being binded. Sakura was the victim. Jumping in front of her, he declared, "You've lost. And now, to the 3 conditions." Smirking at him and laughing lowly, she murmured, "I think not. Have you forgotten? This is my magic, not yours and I could release myself anytime I want." Holding back the surprise, he blurted, "Your bluffing. You can't do that! You are too weak." "Oh? Are you sure? Because I think that you should expect the unexpected! Loop! Woody, Watery, Windy! Keep him down!" Sakura commanded.
(Soon, after two more turns, it will be over. If my prediction is not correct.) Eriol thought to himself. After the two attacks have been sent from the fighting duos, they stand there panting heavily. "Seems like that you are more powerful than I predicted from a girl." Syaoran commented. "Huh? Humph, you are weaker than I thought you were. Especially after defeating one of my snowstorms." Sakura said taking deep breaths. (Why is my sight getting blurry? What's going on? I feel so weak...) "Eriol-kun, help…" with that, Sakura fainted, dropping with a THUD on the snow-covered ground. Running to her, Eriol picked her up and whistled for the unicorns outside of the cyclone. Glancing at Syaoran, he said, "You have come a long way descendent. I am proud to say that you would be honored to have your father's title as the king. Come, as an escort, I would grant you entrance to the kingdom of my half daughter." Syaoran stood there, confused and puzzled at what Eriol had just said, but then hopped onto Eriol's unicorn.
On the palace grounds
Seeing Eriol coming into the gates of the palace, Fujitaka and Touya walks to him. When he got closer, Touya saw another person with him. Pointing at him, he asked, "Who is this? An outsider that has come to invade our kingdom?" Shaking his head, Eriol nodded to the small figure lying in his hands. Fujitaka's eyes widen at the sight and summoned for the female servants. "Chiharu, Naoko, Rika… take care of Mistress and make sure she is well." "Yes Fujitaka-sama." With a deep bow, the girls hurried over to Sakura and brought her upstairs into her room.
As Fujitaka welcomed Eriol inside, Touya shot a glare at Syaoran, and then Syaoran sweat-dropped. "What is he up too?" Syaoran mumbled to himself dryly. Then Fujitaka turned to Syaoran, "You may come in as well. I believe that Eriol has something to discuss that might includes you." Bowing in respect to his kind host, Syaoran followed him at a slow pace.
(Wow, this place is amazing. The beautiful carved crystals and fancy details. They must be rich…No duh Syaoran, that girl you just battled was the queen of the kingdom.) Syaoran mentally hit himself with his fist. "Please, take a seat. Make yourself comfortable." Said Touya with difficulty. (I don't really trust him; he seems…different and weak…but a stable magic link. I hope there's a good reason in why the kaijou is hurt, or else…that kid there is gonna get a piece of my mind)
Up in Sakura's room
"Mistress, Sakura-sama? Sakura-chan? Are you okay? Are you hurt? What happened?" all of her maids asked in worry. (Ugh…where am I? Who is talking so loud? Where is the trespasser?) Groggily, she opened her eyes. The first thing she saw was her maids/friends. Then her eyes scanned the room and saw many familiar objects. "Where am I? What happened?" she asked dizzily. "Sakura-chan, what happened to YOU?" Chiharu asked. "I don't know. Tell me, who brought me home?" Sakura questioned. "Eriol-kun brought you back on your stallion. I think you passed out. Then on his horse, there was this handsome guy with chestnut-color hair and amber-ish eyes. I supposed Fujitaka-sama told him to come in." Rika explained. "Lets leave Sakura-chan alone. She needs rest and her magic needs to recover." Naoko said. They all nodded, and left Sakura at her own thoughts. Looking down, she saw that she wasn't in her battle outfit anymore. Dressed in a fancy pale rose color gown with sakuras and ribbons all around it. It was sleeveless and reached to the tip of her toes. (A/N: long nightgown, ne?) (I need to see father and thank Eriol-kun. And I also need to kick him out too.)
Running downstairs to her father's study, she halted in a hurry as she heard voices. "Fujitaka-san, as you've might have figured out by now, it was my descendent, Li Syaoran that had battled with Sakura. She was determined to win, but was weak from her daily routine. Though he means no harm to the kingdom, I think, he might be able to be under my watch. I hope you can give him your permission to stay…" Charging into the room, Sakura said immediately "No, he may not stay when I am queen. Whether he likes it or not." Everyone diverted their attention to the unfully dressed queen. Syaoran gasped and everyone else looked away. Seeing this, Touya punched his head away from Sakura. Then noticing the strange reaction, she blushed. "I'm sorry for not being dressed properly, but he is not permitted to stay! If he is to stay under father's permission, then he must stay under watch of my guards." Sakura said. "Sakura, why don't you go back upstairs to change and we can talk about this when you come back." Fujitaka reasoned. "Of course." Then glaring at Syaoran, she whisked away.
At the dinning hall
"Now, what is your reason to come here?" Touya demanded. "I'm to find the murderer of my people, or trespassers to you, and to revive the hidden jewel of Nadeshiko Amamiya. I would be grateful if you could tell me any information that you know of these matters." Syaoran said. "You may not tell him anything Touya, I believe that he is a spy and would take the treasure once we tell him. I don't even care if his is the descendent of Clow-sama or if he is the king of the Li Clan." Sakura said hotly. "Sakura, please take your seat." Fujitaka said sternly. Taking her seat, she looked away and stared at the painting of her mother. ^ "Sakura, sit still please. Or you would have to go to your room and not come out till the party is over." Said Nadeshiko. She kept squirming making Touya pinch her and she had tears welled up in her emeralds. WAAAAAAAAAA… "Mommy, onii-chan pwinch me!" "Touya! Would you please bring your sister to the study, I would talk to her." Nadeshiko said. Half walking and half being dragged by her brother, she quieted.
Sitting on the big white fluffy couch, she waited for her mother. Then the doorknob clicked and she came in. As if gliding to Sakura, she sat down and patted on her lap. Little Sakura crawled over to her mother and sighed. "Mommy, why are wall thwose pweeple outsiwde wearwing wbig hats? Why do you wook so sad? Why is Mommy crwing?" the little girl looked up to see her mother crying gently. "Sakura, when you grow up, be good. Mommy wouldn't be here to see you anymore. Mommy has to go somewhere with those people. Remember, be a better queen than Mommy ever was." Crying into her daughter's hair, Sakura wiped away some tears with her chubby hands. ^ "Sakura…Sakura? Hey kaijou, you in there?" Snapping back to reality, she stomped on her brother foot. Making Touya turn purple for holding back a scream. Smiling at her success, her attention went to Syaoran. His amber eyes pleading for Sakura to change her decision of kicking him out. Giving a deep sigh, she nodded and said, "You may stay, but we will not tell you anything but this. I feel that you would be shocked and would want to kill me. But it was I who killed all the people of your world.
