Card Captor Sakura Fan Fiction ❯ Return of the forgotten ❯ Return ( Chapter 4 )
4. Return
"Hoe!", she yelled.
"I am sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."
"It's alright, Yue-chan, I just wasn't expecting this.", she answered.
"May I join you?", Yue asked.
"Sure!", Sakura replied and Yue sat down besides her and leant against the tree just like she did.
"It is nice up here.", Yue said, "Although every place would be nice as long as you are with me."
Sakura blushed lightly and laid her head on Yue's shoulder. Like this, the two remained for some minutes, inhaling the scent of spring and listening to the sounds of nature (AN: How melodramatic^-^).
Meanwhile, the rest of the group was sitting on the grass, chatting and laughing.
"I am curious what Sakura-chan and Yue-san are doing over there.", Tomoyo pointed out, "Too bad my camera broke this morning. I would have really liked to document on those two kawaii lovebirds."
"I am not sure if they'd appreciate that.", Touya replied, "It seems they enjoy being left alone."
"Yes, maybe.", Tomoyo answered, "But nonetheless…"
"Remember to put our names in the speech you'll hold the day you get your first Oscar for best director.", Yukito said.
"Oh, please.", Tomoyo said, blushed and scratched the back of her head.
"And the winner is: Tomoyo Daidoji." Everybody laughed except Tomoyo, who blushed even more and, after the other had calmed down, quckly changed the subject.
Sakura and Yue heard the laughter, but didn't pay much attention. They were too much occupied with themselves.
Sakura sighed and brought her lips to Yue's ear.
"Aishiteru, Yue-chan.", she whispered.
"Aishiteru, Sakura.", Yue replied.
Sakura suddenly shivered lightly.
"Daijobu desu ka?", Yue asked.
"Hai.", she answered, "It is just getting a bit chilly."
Sakura looked up at the sky and frightened with what she saw. The sun was being covered by a black swirl that grew bigger and bigger.
Suddenly, all the surroundings were enclosed by darkness.
"What's happening here?", Sakura asked and looked at Yue, hoping for an explanation. But Yue didn't reply. Instead, he clinched to his robe at about the place where his heart was.
"Yue-chan?", Sakura asked worriedly.
"This…", Yue spoke, "I somehow know this. It reminds me of something, but…I can't figure out what exactly."
"So you have really forgotten about me?". Sakura and Yue both looked around to see where that voice was coming from. Their eyes then met with a shadowy figure, slowly moving towards them. As it came nearer, the shadows slowly revealed a thin woman, seemingly at the end of her twenties. Her dark red hair was tied back in a long braid. Her eyes were dark purple in color. She wore a black robe with dark red ornaments on it that fluttered in the chilly wind.
"That women…", Yue whispered, "I feel like I have seen her before."
"It's really sad you seem to have forgotten about me, my love."
Sakura looked puzzled, did she just say "Love"?
"Who are you?", she finally asked.
"Who told you to speak up?", the woman hissed and lifted her hand. A blow of dark energy was sent forward and hit Sakura so that she was thrown against a tree.
"Sakura!", Yue yelled and tried to get to her, but was stopped. He was held by an amount of dark energy. He tried to move, but couldn't.
"You are coming with me, my love.", the woman said and her eyes shone. Yue recognized that he was drawn into a swirl similar to the one that had appeared at the beginning of all this.
"What's all this about?", he asked harshly.
"Just wait and see, my love, just wait and see.", the woman replied.
Yue wished he could move and attack her, but that wasn't possible. As he entered the swirl, the dark energy overflow him and he blacked out.
Sakura didn't know for how long she had been unconscious, but as she opened her eyes, she saw Yue and the women disappearing. She wanted to stop them, but before she was ready, they had already totally disappeared.
The darkness that had claimed the surroundings slowly dissolved. Sakura sank to her knees.
"Sakura-chan!", she heard a shout. Tomoyo and the others came running towards her.
"What happened?", Tomoyo asked, "You were suddenly in that dark
"Yue…", Sakura whispered.
"What's wrong with him, where is he, by the way?", Touya asked.
"That woman.", Sakura said, "That woman I saw in my dream. She took him along with her. I couldn't do anything, she knocked me out, I just saw them disappearing into the darkness."
"You mean Yue got kidnapped?", her brother questioned, "Why?"
"I don't know, onii-chan.", Sakura answered, "But referring to my dream, something very horrifying is going to happen."
"Is she going to kill him or what?", Touya asked.
"Not exactly.", Sakura replied. "I can't tell you right now. I need to talk to Kero-chan. So, could we go home now?"
"If that stuffed animal behaved well.", Touya said, "Otherwise, there wouldn't be much left to call home."
Sakura was very quiet all way back. As they arrived at the house (that was fortunenately still standing, cause Kero fell asleep after eating waaaaaaaaaayyyyy too much sweets), Sakura rushed into her room and locked the door. She threw herself on her bed, not noticing she landed on the sleeping Kero.
"Mmmmm, mmmmmmm!", came a sound and Sakura felt a light movement under her body. She rolled to the side and revealed a flat Kero.
"That hurt, Sakura-chan.", he complained.
"Gomen nasai, Kero-chan.", Sakura excused herself, "I didn't see you."
"Now how was the picnic?", Kero asked.
"I need to talk to you about something more important.", Sakura said.
"And what?"
"Remember I had that nightmare I told you about?"
"That one about Yue and that shadowy figure?"
"Yes, it is becoming true."
"Huh?"
"After the picnic, as Yue and I were sitting together, there suddenly appeared that woman. She was who I saw in my dream. She knocked me out and took Yue-chan along with her."
"So desu ka?"
"Hai. And now, I fear that everything else will also become true. You know, that part of Yue-chan being, how shall I say, possessed."
"Well…", Kero mused, "You have had some precognotic dreams before. But why should Yue let himself get possessed?"
"I don't know.", Sakura said, "But the dark energy that woman was using was very strong. She knocked me out with just a move of her hand and she immobilized Yue only with her will."
"How did that woman look?", Kero asked. So Sakura described anything as detailed as possible.
"Hm…", Kero hummed, "I feel like I have seen a woman like that before, but where? When?"
"Maybe I should call Eriol. He send me a letter some days ago that he was back in England. Maybe he knows something about that women."
"That sounds rational.", Kero replied and nodded.
So Sakura picked up the phone and called Eriol.
"Hai?", a young voice so familiar to her answered the phone.
"Eriol-kun, it's me, Sakura."
"I know.", he said, "There's something wrong, isn't there?"
"Hai.", Sakura replied, "A woman that was using powerful dark energy has taken Yue along with her and I couldn't do anything." She lightly sobbed, still frightened that her nightmare may become true.
"Calm down, Sakura-chan.", Eriol advised her, "Tell me how that woman looked, maybe I can provide you with some information."
So, Sakura began to describe the woman again. As she was finished, she heard nothing but a long silence on the other end of the line. That made her get even more worried.
"Eriol-kun?", she asked.
"Sakura, are you sitting right now?"
"No, why?"
"You'll better sit down then first."
"Hoe?"
"You sitting?"
"Now, yes. So, you tell me now what you know about that women?"
"I will. I can tell you her story, but I am not sure you'll like it."
"Please, tell me!", Sakura pleaded, "Who is it who causes all this?"
"Vaine…", Eriol spoke that name like it had a bitter aftertaste.
"Who?"
"Her name is Vaine. Let me tell you her story…"
AN: Ha! Curious about Vaine's story? Will be in the next chapter. I am evil, am I not? ^-^ Hope you enjoyed it so far.
