Chapter 1

Sakura hurried through her day, determinedly keeping her mind off of the dream from the night before. If I don't think about it, everything will be fine. She would just stick to her schedule and not deviate from it, not even a little bit. If she was careful, she might be able to avoid the embarrassment of that dream coming true. Yeah, right. Every 'prophetic dream' I've ever had alwayscomes true! Why did Kero-chan have to say that that's what this was?

"Sakura…" Sakura's best friend, Daidouji Tomoyo whispered her name softly, concern lingering on her pretty features. "Is something wrong?"

Blinking rapidly she quickly shook her head. "N-no! Nothing's wrong, Tomoyo-chan." She forced a quiet laugh and pointedly turned her attention back to the lesson being delivered by the teacher. This time I'm prepared. I will notopen any mysteriously hovering books. Not a chance. No way, no how. Spirits bolstered by her determination, Sakura focused on her class again and resolutely pushed all thoughts of the mysterious book from her dream out of her mind.

Tomoyo wasn't convinced. She remembered seeing her friend with the same distracted expression on her features years before when they were both still in Elementary School when she'd become Cardcaptor Sakura, a girl with the ability to use magical cards created by the long deceased powerful magician Clow Reed. Blue eyes narrowing in careful consideration, she decided that rather than pressing the other girl for answers she would simply create the costumes for her in secret, just to be prepared in the eventuality that she was correct in her assumptions. A small secret smile tilted her lips upwards as she clasped her hands tightly before her. At last! Another chance to film my beloved Sakura in action! I'm so excited!

Looking at her best friend from the corner of her eye Sakura suppressed a shudder. She recognized the look on the other girl's face all too easily. She had a feeling she was about to become the lead in another of Tomoyo's films. She just hoped she didn't have to wear too many outlandish costumes in the process. Sighing softly under her breath she shook her head slowly. No matter what Kero and Tomoyo said, she was not going to take on the responsibility of capturing these new cards. It would be much too embarrassing.

As the day progressed, Sakura began to relax as nothing out of the ordinary occurred. She was beginning to think that she had successfully avoided what she considered to be her doom. There was one little detail that she'd left out when she'd described the dream to Kero and later to Tomoyo. She winced and hoped her face wasn't as red as it felt. In the dream she'd seen the staff used in conjunction with the Book of Hentai and she prayed to all the gods and goddesses who may be listening that she never had to use such a thing.

"Kinomoto-san!" She blinked and looked up quickly to see the cheerleading squad staring at her impatiently. "Care to join us?"

Face reddening in embarrassment she nodded quickly and grabbed her baton. "Y-yes! Sorry!" She swiftly took her place in the line and smiled sheepishly at her friends. "Sorry." She repeated in a whisper much to the amusement of the other girls.

Practice commenced without any further delay and Sakura threw herself into the drills with the utmost concentration on her efforts. She couldn't help but think that the entire situation was eerily familiar. As she tossed the baton into the air, twirling it in the routine, she blinking in surprise as it seemed to transform before her eyes, elongating and…wobbling?

"H-hoeh?" She gasped and stared in horror at the giant dildo descending rapidly towards her. Face turning several shades of red she could only stare in mute dismay as it twirled in the air, descending in a slow-motion arc back towards her. She blinked and the baton was normal again, but her outstretched hand was grasping at nothing as it completed its descent and landed squarely on her head. "Oh!" Deafening silence greeted her monumental act of clumsiness as the baton clattered to the ground and she dropped to her knees holding her head against the stinging pain resounding through her skull. "Ouch!" Oh man! It's just like…just like back then!

Sakura sighed and shook her head slowly, gingerly touching her fingertips to the painful bump on her forehead as she walked the familiar route to her home. She refused to dwell on the strangely coincidental occurrences of the day. She wouldn't think about how similar it was to the day six years before when she'd first discovered the Book of Clow and inadvertently embarked on a wild ride of adventure and danger. Acting on impulse, she turned down the path that led to Penguin Park and smiled as she watched several children playing. She remembered when she had been a child engaging in the same activities. Sitting on a bench, she set her book bag down on the ground and withdrew a book. Staring at the cover she felt her face heating again as she remembered the book from her dream. Like the book in the dream, this one had a black cover with red binding and silver lettering. But instead of the words "Book of Hentai" written on the front, it was a book she needed to read for her reading and composition class.

Shifting uncomfortably on the hard bench she grimaced when her foot squished in mud. "Ew!" Looking down she scowled at the muddy mess clinging to her shoe and breathed a silent sigh of relief when she noted that her bag had missed the muck when she'd set it down. Shaking her head, she set her book in her lap and leaned forward to pick up a stick and scrape the mud from the sole of her shoe. "Gross!" With a gasp she scrambled to catch the book as it slid off her lap towards the puddle just as a pair of feet entered her peripheral vision. "Eh?" She blinked as the owner of the feet seemed to move in slow motion before she toppled forward, losing her balance, the book sliding from her lap to land with a plop in the mud, front cover down. "Oh no!" She gasped as she felt herself falling.

Suddenly she felt strong hands gripping her shoulder. "Are you all right?" She blinked, thinking the voice was somehow familiar and slowly looked up. "S-Sakura?"

Green eyes widening in surprised delight she smiled happily. "Syaoran-kun!" She jumped to her feet and threw her arms around the startled teenage boy. Pulling back with a flush, she looked up at him with a wide smile. "What are you doing here? I thought you were in Hong Kong! Why didn't you tell me you were coming for a visit?"

Blushing faintly, Li Syaoran shrugged and stuffed his hands into his pockets. "I wanted to surprise you." He blinked and pulled his hands out of his pockets and stared at them blankly for a moment. "Uh…" He looked down with a scowl. "Oh."

Following his gaze she blinked and stared at two books resting in the mud. "Oh." She bent to pick them up, but he moved faster. Grabbing the books, he carefully scraped the mud off of them and glanced at the covers before handing one to her. "T-thank you, Syaoran-kun." She smiled and looked down at the book for a moment, dismayed to see that the entire front cover had been soiled by the mud. "Oh no. I'll have to clean this off before school tomorrow." Looking back to her friend she smiled with another blush. "Are you in Tomoeda for long, Syaoran-kun?"

"Yeah…for a while. Meilin and I just transferred…again." He scowled and shook his head. "Mother's idea. Thought it would do us good to study abroad."

Sakura laughed and set the book on the bench behind her. "I can't wait to see Meilin-chan! It's been forever!" She clasped her hands before her and grinned. "It'll be almost like old times. Which school are you attending?" She wondered if they'd be attending the same school again.

"Um…Seijou High School."

"Really? That's great! That's the school Tomoyo-chan and I attend. I wonder if we'll be in the same classes." Her voice reflected her excitement as she practically bounced on the balls of her feet.

"Maybe." He smiled and lifted a hand to cup her cheek. "It's good to see you again, Sakura." He dropped his hand quickly, looking away and staring into the distance as his face flushed. "I better hurry. Meilin is waiting for me." He coughed and cleared his throat, obviously still flustered. "Um…I'll see you tomorrow, right?"

"Y-yes! For sure!" Impulsively she hugged him again before stepping back. "I'll meet you and Meilin-chan at the school gate tomorrow morning before class starts."

"Y-yeah." He backed away slowly. "See you then!" He turned and disappeared quickly down the park path.

Smiling happily, Sakura quickly stuffed her muddied text book into her bag and slung it over her shoulder before skipping down the path in the opposite direction, humming under her breath. She couldn't believe that after so long Li Syaoran was back in Japan and would be attending the same school that she was. Her smile slowly faded. Of course, the circumstances seemed rather mysterious to her. Shrugging the odd thoughts from her mind she looked up at the slowly darkening sky. Li Yelan, Syaoran's mother, was a strange lady to begin with, so something as unusual as sending her only son to study abroad in the middle of the school year shouldn't be all that surprising.

Stepping inside the door she drew in a deep breath and sighed, words of greeting dying unspoken. She'd nearly forgotten. No one was home. Her father was away for business for the next three weeks and her brother was at one of his countless part-time jobs. She had the house to herself for the next several hours. She set her book bag down and removed her muddy shoes, setting them just outside the door. She'd clean them later, after the mud had dried. "Kero-chan! I'm home!" She called out as she entered the kitchen. Strangely enough, she received no answer to her greeting. Shrugging, she opened the refrigerator and smiled when she saw the note on a plate of food addressed to her. "Onii-chan made dinner for me before leaving." She pulled the plate of sandwiches from the refrigerator and set it on the table before pouring herself a glass of orange juice.

Pulling the muddied book out of her book bag, she set it on the table beside the plate of sandwiches before pulling out a chair and sitting. Picking up the book again she frowned briefly before shrugging and grabbing a sandwich off the plate and taking a bite before opening the book. The next instant she screamed as the cover flew open and a whirlwind surrounded her. Green eyes widening in horrified shock she shook her head in denial before she squinted against the maelstrom blowing her shoulder-length brown hair about her face wildly. "No!" She screamed the denial shrilly as cards materialized and hovered before her for a moment before shooting off in all directions, magic lingering in their wake. "Not again!" She tried in vain to catch the magical cards before they could all escape, but they eluded her grasp. Through the high-pitched scream of the magically induced wind she could hear the telephone ringing. The next instant all was silent as the book flopped to the table and the cover closed, the mud flaking off to reveal the title. "Th-the…Hentai…" She whispered hoarsely as the cover began to glow and a pink figure began to emerge from it. The telephone continued to ring shrilly in the background as more of the creature became visible to Sakura. "No way!" She closed her eyes and shook her head sharply before opening them again. Before her hovered a small pink creature very similar in appearance to Kero's small form. Similar, that was, until one took in the unmistakable attire it was wearing. "L-leather?!" The word emerged as a squeak.

"Mmmm…" The creature slowly opened its eyes and stared directly at Sakura. "You going to answer that, sugar?" The voice was unmistakably feminine as the small creature winked at her.

Reaching blindly to the side, Sakura grabbed the receiver of the telephone, not daring to take her eyes off the strange form before her. "Y-yes? K-Kinomoto residence…" She spoke numbly, unable to fully grasp the situation unfurling before her.

"Sakura! Don't open that book!"

"S-Syaoran-kun?" She whispered hoarsely. "T-too l---"

"Don't open that book! It's…"

"The Book of Hentai." She stated the fact dully as she continued to stare at the pink creature wearing a black leather teddy. "Oh no…" She moaned softly before falling off her chair in a dead faint, the telephone clattering to the floor.

"Sakura? Sakura! What's wrong? What's going on?" Syaoran's voice rose from the telephone receiver and fell on deaf ears.

The pink creature flew over to the receiver and smirked before landing on the floor beside it. "Sakura can't come to the phone, sugar, she's too busy takin' a nap on the floor." It picked up the receiver and replaced it in its cradle before returning to the unconscious Cardcaptor. It tsked and shook its head before landing on the floor beside Sakura and folding its tiny arms over its chest, staring at the girl the entire time with a strange gleam in its eyes.
