This is the fourth chapter of this story and there are tons of new surprises that I plan for everyone! I'm not going to give much away, but there is going to be a brand new Ion! If you want to know who, you are going to have to read and find out! Plus, the violet power rings are going to make their appearance onto the scene as well. And there is more to come, everyone, but if you want to find out what, you are going to need to keep, guys and gals!

 

Before I start I would like to give credit to Time-warlock for the inspiration of the idea, how the rings get into Naruto's `realm', Naruto and Itachi getting certain Lantern Power Rings, and other material that I didn't mention in this commentary.

 

Also, I would like to say that my information may not be perfect, so, expect plenty of OOC (out of character) attitudes, situations, and whatnot by the characters in this story.

Chapter 4: Return of Ion and Star Sapphires

 

(In the Hidden Rain Village; Just before Sasuke battle Itachi)

 

Deep within the Hidden Rain Village, we find Jiraiya, battling injured, his throat crushed, and bleeding greatly, writing something on Fukasaku, an elder of the Toads, and the five remaining Pain bodies look to see numbers on Elder Fukasaku's back. They immediately charge into attack and they smash where he and Jiraiya are, sending the dying Jiraiya into the water.

 

One of the Pains, known as Deva Path, says, plainly, “The frog got away…”

 

Deep within the water, the dying Jiraiya thinks in his mind, “The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant will have a better ending now, I think. It is just barely glorious, but glorious indeed. Now, it is time for me to put down my pen…”

 

Just then a white light appears besides Jiraiya and a voice calls out into his mind, “It is not time for you to die, yet, Jiraiya the Gallant.” Jiraiya weakly looks towards the white light and he feels his body getting stronger and stronger as the white light is surrounding him. The voice tells Jiraiya, “The sequel is coming and you have a major role in the next story even through you are not the main character.” Just then the chakra spikes in Jiraiya's back vanish and his left arm start to grow back like a lizard's arm as images come into his mind including an image of Naruto battling against foes that look like Lantern but using ring that use darkness and leading Lantern from different Corps including Green, Blue, Indigo, Star Sapphire, and unknown Lantern Corps using alternating lights of rainbow and white joining up with four powerful entities that look very much human. Two of these entities are female and two of them are male in which Jiraiya says one of them having beautiful silver hair in two pigtails that are heart-shaped heads and a boy with wildly spiked silver hair of his own welding a strange blue and golden device with huge dragon with black armor and a laser cannon on his back. A golden eight-pointed star appears in Jiraiya's mind as well and the voice tells him, “The next tale is the tale of Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, Lantern, Ion, and Greatest Ninja of All, but there is a tale after that you must witness. This story is `War of Realms: Spectrum Wars' and Naruto will need you to become what you saw in his future. However, you must allow Naruto to believe that you died in your battle with Pain until the time is right to return. Jiraiya, Sanin of the Leaf Village, you must decide to fade away or go into the future.”

 

As Jiraiya is surrounded in a sphere of white light, his full strength is restored and he asks, seriously, “What about the others? The Leaf Village?”

 

The voice says, no longer in his mind, “The Village will be greatly destroyed, but the people will survive and they will rebuild, thanks to Naruto. However, we need to think that you are dead to learn great lessons. The war to come is great and will fill many other worlds beyond your imagination. What you saw is Naruto helping four critical people that will aid against the coming darkness, but Naruto plays just as vital role as these four and he will become the leader of Lanterns from many Corps. He holds greater strength than you know, Jiraiya. He will need to aid him in his path, but you need to learn what Naruto needs to learn to gain what he needs to ensure that life goes on in all worlds. You are never too old to learn Jiraiya.”

 

Jiraiya says, with a smirk, “You do have a sense of humor, huh? That means that you are not bad at all. If I'm still needed in these `new stories' then I'm going to come along. Personally, I think that `my story' could end with a greater ending.”

 

The voice tells Jiraiya, slyly, “Your story, as you call it, is going to end with you becoming myth and legend, but Naruto's story will be remember for as long as time continues even if there isn't any of humanity left in any universe.”

 

Jiraiya says, with a sly smile, “That's something to look forward to in the future, my friend. Let's go to wherever you are taking me, pal.” Soon after, Jiraiya and the entity with him in the white light vanish as the white light fades away.

 

Back with all five remaining bodies of Pain, Deva Pain says, plainly, “If we didn't have our secret, we wouldn't have beaten Jiraiya-sama. Jiraiya-sama has proven to be an excellent opponent.

 

Just then Jiraiya's voice booms out, “I will see you soon, Nagato…” Deva Pain and the other Pain bodies look around for any signs or try to find Jiraiya, but they feel his chakra aura just fade away…

 

Deva Pain says, plainly, “Just my imagination.” However, Deva Pain gets a bad feeling that they didn't truly kill Jiraiya and if they saw what happened, they know that they would be right.

 

(Much later; At an Akatsuki headquarters)

 

At one of the Akatsuki's bases, the evening of the day that Sasuke renamed his team from Team Snake to Team Hawk, we find Sasuke talking with Madara, who still had his mask on because of the `jutsu' that Itachi put Sasuke's eyes, in which Sasuke tells about remembering that on the day of the massacre, he remember that he did activate his Sharingan by instinct on that day and attacked Itachi, knocking off his headband, in which before he passed out, Sasuke saw Itachi crying which confirms to Sasuke more than ever that Madara's story is true.

 

Madara asks Sasuke, “About Itachi's eyes, Sasuke? Will you transplant them?”

 

Sasuke replies, with a plain tone, “I won't transplant Itachi's eyes. What Itachi wanted and what I will be doing are two different things. I don't want his eyes to see what I'm going to do because I'm going to restore the Uchiha in my own way.” Sasuke looks at his new yellow power ring and he says, with a serious tone, “The Uchiha name was once feared and I intend to make sure that they are feared again.”

 

Madara thinks in his mind, with a sinister sly tone, “I'm glad to hear that Sasuke.”

 

(Back in the Leaf Village; the following morning)

 

Inside of the Hidden Leaf Village, we find Naruto wondering about his meeting with Itachi and learning about Itachi's death by Sasuke's hand while he is recharging his Green Lantern ring.

 

Naruto says, “In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power… Green Lantern's Light!” In a bright green flash, Naruto's Green Lantern ring is recharged and he is revealed in his Green Lantern uniform. Soon after, he puts his battery back in its pocket dimension and returns to his normal clothes in which he puts on his Blue Lantern ring. Just then he senses someone nearby and he looks to see Kakashi and Guy Gardner at his window.

 

Guy says, with a smirk, “You are pretty good with the oath, kid.”

 

Kakashi tells Naruto, with a plain tone, “Lady Hokage is wanting you, Naruto.”

 

Naruto says, with a nod, “I'll be down in a minute, Kakashi-sensei.”

 

(Inside of the Hokage's office; Sometime later)

 

Within the Hokage's office, we find Kakashi, Guy, and Naruto entering the office and sees Tsunade and Shizune at the Hokage's deck with Sakura, Sai, and our three other Earth Green Lanterns with three toads and the largest one carrying Fukasaku on his back.

 

John tells Hal, with a plain tone, “I am not going to get used to this world, Hal.”

 

Hal says, with a nod, “I agree with you, John.”

 

Fukasaku asks Tsunade, with a Scottish accent, “This is the child that's Jiraiya-boy's student?”

 

Tsunade says, with a nod, “He is, Fukasaku-sama. This is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, son of our Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, and the `child of prophecy' that you told me and Jiraiya about.”

 

Fukasaku says, with a nod, “The Fourth Hokage's kid, eh?”

 

Naruto says, with a perplexed expression, “A geezer frog? This is new!”

 

Tsunade yells at Naruto, annoyed, “Watch your mouth, Naruto! This is the respectable Fukasaku-sama, great hermit toad of Mount Myoboku. He came all this way to speak with you, Naruto.”

 

Fukasaku tells Naruto, “In fact, I'm a Great Hermit Toad. Are you really Jiraiya-boy's student?”

 

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “Jiraiya-BOY?! How dare you treat the Pervy Sage like a kid? Who do you think you geezer toad?!”

 

Tsunade yells out, annoyed, “I told you to watch that mouth, Naruto! He is the elite teacher that taught Jiraiya a powerful jutsu known `Hermit Mode'!” Naruto's eyes widen to Tsunade's comments while Fukasaku laughs at something.

 

Fukasaku says, with a cheerful tone, “Pervy Sage, huh?! That's an excellent nickname for Jiraiya-boy!”

 

Naruto asks, curiously, “What does the Geezer Hermit want with me?”

 

Fukasaku's expression becomes solemn and he says, solemnly, “I'm not sure where to begin, Naruto-boy, but I should tell you that… Jiraiya-boy died in battle.”

 

A solemn expression comes over the ninja group and Naruto asks, stunned, “W-What are you talking about?” Fukasaku then explains about what happened in the battle between Jiraiya and Pain after he and his wife are brought into the fight with Jiraiya and he then reveals the message on his back.

 

Shizune says, plainly, “It's a code.”

 

Fukasaku covers himself up again and he says, plainly, “I'm sure it was to make sure that Pain wouldn't catch on and that's about it for Jiraiya-boy's effort.”

 

Naruto asks, solemnly, “You let him go Granny Tsunade?”

 

Tsunade says, with a sigh, “That's right, Naruto.”

 

Naruto, his expression becoming one of anger with a green glow in his eyes, yells out, angered, “Why did you let him take that risk, Granny Tsunade?! You knew the Pervy Sage better than anyone here! You were teammates! How could you let him go on a dangerous mission?!”

 

Kakashi tells Naruto, scolding tone in his voice, “Stop it right now, Naruto. You know should know Lady Hokage's feeling out of all of us!” Naruto gives a scowl and lowers his head, but his two Lantern rings glow in which his clothes change into his mixed Lantern uniform.

 

Guy says, nervously, “This isn't good, guys.” Naruto then shoots a beam of green energy that forms into a hand that opens a window in which he quickly flies out off.

 

Sakura yells out, worriedly, “Naruto, where are you going?”

 

Naruto says, with a serious and angered tone, “I need some fresh air! You know what, Granny Tsunade? If the Pervy Sage had been the Fifth Hokage, he wouldn't have sent you out on that mission!” Naruto then flies off into the distance as quickly as he can.

 

Sakura yells out, concerned, “Naruto, don't go yet!”

 

John says, with a groan, “We had better go after him.”

 

Kyle says, with a plain tone, “I'll see what I can do.”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “Better call Superman, Supergirl, and Steel.”

 

Tsunade says, with a plain tone, “I think that it is best that all of you let him be for now.”

 

Kakashi tells Fukasaku, “Fukasaku-sama, I'm sorry for Naruto's behavior. I'll arrange to bring him back.”

 

Fukasaku says, with a plain tone, “Not a good idea, sonny. It is good idea to let him be for now.” Fukasaku says, with a serious tone, “I think that boy was much cared for by Jiraiya-boy and those two shared a bond. And with all this that I saw, I'm sure of it now that Naruto-boy is indeed the child of the prophecy.”

 

Guy asks, perplexed, “Prophecy?”

 

Tsunade says, with a plain tone, “The Hermit Toads of Fukasaku-sama home predicted that one day that one young ninja, a boy from anyone's standards, would be trained by Jiraiya and he will have the ability to change our world forever. He would either bring peace or destruction.”

 

Fukasaku says, with a serious tone, “And from what I see, he will bring peace. He is the child that will bring final peace in our world and that means no more wars and such with everyone living in true peace.”

 

John asks, curiously, “Is that a bit much to be putting on one kid's shoulders?”

 

Fukasaku asks, with a plain tone, “Like asking him to become a warrior in a war for the multi-verse isn't? But remember, the ring chose him and I think that's significant. Being with the boy, don't you think that he is different even from our world's standards?”

 

Kyle says, with a plain tone, “We have been here only for a limited time, but he does seem to be different from many other people here.”

 

Fukasaku says, with a plain tone, “I've only see him this once and I can see that he is meant for great things. I keep wonder that Naruto-boy is destined for things far greater than we imagine for him. For now, we should allow him to vent and get his feelings together or he won't be in any condition for what's to come. In which, I need to talk to you, outsiders, about his future training.”

 

(On the meanwhile; At the Akatsuki headquarters)

 

Inside of the Akatsuki's headquarters, we find Sasuke, Team Hawk, Kisame, and Madara assembled together as they prepare to talk about their plans for the future including the destruction of the Leaf Village.

 

Madara asks, curiously, “How are you going to destroy the Leaf Village?”

 

Sasuke replies, with a plain tone, “The elders and Danzo have to die and the other I could care less of.”

 

Kisame tells Sasuke, “If you aim high, the ones lower than them will shield them. The four of you won't be enough on your own Sasuke.”

 

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “If they try to stop us, they shall know fear.”

 

Suigetsu tells Kisame, with a smirk, “You shouldn't underestimate us. Sasuke is wearing the same ring that Itachi used to fling you around like a rag doll.” Kisame growls slightly at that remark and Suigetsu says, with a smirk, “But Sasuke doesn't need to do a thing since I'm here to finish you, Kisame-sama.” Suigetsu then charges at Kisame and prepares to attack him with his sword, which belonged to Zabuza, but Madara easily blocks the attack with one arm.

 

Madara says, plainly, “Sasuke, you lack control of your team.”

 

Suigetsu thinks in his mind, stunned, “This guy stopped me with his arm and he didn't use that ring of his!”

 

Karin yells out, annoyed, “Suigetsu, are you that stupid? This isn't the time for this!”

 

Suigetsu says, annoyed, “I'm in this group for Samehada and I've only been here to get my hands on it.”

 

Jugo, the silent giant male of the group, asks, plainly, “Sasuke, what do you want to do?”

 

Sasuke replies, with a plain tone, “Do as you please Suigetsu, but you aren't strong enough to take Kisame on yet.”

 

Suigetsu yells out, annoyed, “That's a major dis, Sasuke! But don't worry, I'll be giving you some yummy shark fin soon enough!”

 

Madara says, with a plain tone, “The manpower of the Akatsuki is getting low, everyone. But we share common interest and the Akatsuki and Hawk should work together.”

 

Sasuke asks, with a plain tone, “What's in it for us?”

 

Madara replies, “We will share the Tailed Beast with you.”

 

Sasuke tells Madara, “Tailed Beasts? The ones like the Nine-Tails?”

 

Madara says, with a nod, “I see that you know about them, Sasuke.”

 

Karin says, with a smile, “Who doesn't know about the Bijuu?”

 

Madara says, with a plain tone, “Then you should know that they are chakra `monsters'. With his Wood Style jutsu, the First Hokage kept a few of them under his control and he used them to maintain the balance of power and control by disturbing the Bijuu to other lands.”

 

Karin says, with a nod, “You can call them `ultimate chakra weapons' and it is real tempting, Madara.”

 

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “You have caught my interest through my ring can give me more than enough strength to rip the village.”

 

Madara tells Sasuke, “Remember, Naruto Uzumaki carries two rings of his own and the blue ring has the ability to weaken our yellow rings. We are going to need an edge and Naruto may need to be put `out of the way' Sasuke.”

 

Kisame says, with a plain tone, “Other than that brat, Naruto Uzumaki, there is one more Bijuu left out there.”

 

Madara tells Sasuke, “We will leave that one, the Eight Tails, to you. It will be in the Land of Lightning and its container is part of the Cloud Village. The Akatsuki will take care of Naruto since I sent our second strongest member other than myself out to get him.”

 

Sasuke says, getting to his feet, “That's fine by me, Madara. As long as you hold out on your end of the deal, Madara, I don't care about doing the dirty work. Plus, Madara, this is a chance to test out my ring.”

 

(Evening at the Hidden Leaf Village)

 

It was late in the evening and Naruto, in his mixed Lantern uniform, is looking up in the sky and thinking about the times that he had with Jiraiya, his father's, Minato's, former teacher and he looks into the sky on top of the Hokage's monument while glancing at his rings.

 

Naruto thinks in his mind, “All this power that I have gained and I couldn't save the Pervy Sage! Now, he is gone and I feel kind of lost and alone! He was my godfather!”

 

Just then he hears someone call out to him, kindly, “I thought that I would find you up here, Naruto.” Naruto looks to see Iruka, his former teacher from his academy days coming up to him.

 

Iruka sits by Naruto and he tells him, with a plain tone, “Naruto, I heard about what happened to Jiraiya-sama.”

 

Naruto says, solemnly, “I wanted him to keep watch over me since he was my godfather. He was the only `family' I had left and he is gone now in which he only saw the un-cool side of me.”

 

Iruka tells Naruto, with a smile, “Jiraiya-sama had only great praise for you, Naruto. He said that you were like the grandson that he never had.” Naruto's eyes widen at this and Iruka tells him, “He felt that you would be a great Hokage one day and you would inherit everything that he had. I believe that he is still watching over you and I don't think that he would want you to be so blue if your blue ring would forgive the pun. I think that you should remain the same cheerful kid that he remembers.”

 

Naruto tells Iruka, with a smile, “Thank you, Iruka-sensei.” The two of them continue to small talk not knowing of the violet `comet' that zooms by their village that night.

 

(That same evening; Inside of the Hyuga compound)

 

Within the Hyuga compound, we find Hinata Hyuga in a restless sleep as she dreams of Naruto, wearing clothes similar to the Fourth Hokage as well as a hat similar to the Hokage's hat, but there is a golden eight-pointed star insignia instead of the kanji for Hokage on it. Naruto is leading various Lanterns and other warriors, including DC superheroes, into battle with mysterious Lantern using darkness from their rings instead of light. Naruto is then confronted by Madara, who is still wearing his `Tobi mask', and he uses a yellow ring and `darkness ring' against Naruto as well as tons of other jutsu in which Naruto responds with incredible attacks of his own causing a huge explosion of energy and light.

Hinata wakes up in a cold sweat and with a start causing her to think, “What was that all about? Naruto-kun fighting that Madara character and leading an army of warriors? Is that the future?” Hinata puts her hand to her heart and she thinks, “I'm so worried about all this ever since Naruto-kun got that ring, I've been having dreams like this! I just want to tell him who I feel and about these days, but I'm so… afraid and shy.”

 

(The following morning; Inside of the Hokage's office)

 

Inside of the Hokage's office, we find Fukasaku looking at a piece of paper that has one sentience on it with our DC superheroes, Naruto, Tsunade, Sakura, Shikamaru, Kakashi, and a blond hair woman with glasses known as Shiho, who is a member of the Cipher Corps.

 

Fukasaku says, reading off the paper, “The real one is not among them? That's interesting to know everyone.”

 

Naruto asks Fukasaku, curiously, “Does it make any sense Geezer Hermit?”

 

Fukasaku is in deep thought for about a few minutes and he says, with a sigh, “I'm not too sure, laddy! It is not too clear to me, everyone.”

 

Shikamaru asks, curiously, “Do you have any theories then?”

 

Fukasaku says, with a plain tone, “I told you all that I know about Pain and he seems to come back from the dead, so, I don't make any theories at this point, boy. I do say that we shouldn't take Pain on yet.”

 

Kakashi asks, curiously, “How are the other investigations going Sakura? The autopsy and interrogation?”

 

Sakura says, with a plain tone, “They are going to take sometime.”

 

Naruto asks, annoyed, “How much more is this going to take Sakura?”

 

Sakura says, with a sigh, “I don't think that even they know, Naruto.”

 

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “What do you mean? What are they goofing around here? We're running out of time here everyone!”

 

Sakura yells out, a bit annoyed, “Never mind the interrogation, Naruto! A full autopsy requires a full detailed analyses down to the cellular level and it is not just dissection! It just takes time!”

 

Tsunade says, with a plain tone, “It will take a week at best, Naruto.”

 

Naruto says, with a sigh, “It's that long, Granny Tsunade? That a bit too long.”

 

Shikamaru asks Tsunade, “Lady Hokage, what should we do?”

 

Tsunade says, with a plain tone, “Shizune is heading the autopsy, so, it should be faster than usual. We are going to need to wait everyone.”

 

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “Forget that Granny Tsunade! I'm going to make them hurry!”

 

Sakura exclaims, annoyed, “Naruto, if you bother Shizune-sensei, I won't forgive you!”

 

Naruto says, with a serious tone, “I really don't care, Sakura! I need to avenge Pervy Sage!” Sakura yelps back in shock and Naruto says, seriously, “I can't just see here and do nothing!”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “Vengeance won't solve anything, Naruto. You should remember what happened to me, even through I was controlled by Parallax.”

 

Naruto says, with a sigh, “You do have a point, Hal-san.”

 

Fukasaku tells Naruto, with a plain tone, “Naruto-boy, we did all we could with the code that Jiraiya-boy left behind. There is only a few things that you can do outside of it right now.”

 

Naruto asks, with a curious tone, “Like what, Geezer Hermit?”

 

Fukasaku tells Naruto, with a smile, “You need to go with the outsiders into the other realm. You need to learn to fully utilize your rings' abilities and gain their trust that you can use it wisely.” Fukasaku says, with a smile, “However, during your free time, you are going to come with me to my home and I'm going to train you to use `Hermit Mode' and all the jutsu that come with it. I'm going to hammer it into you like I did with Jiraiya-boy.”

 

Naruto asks, curiously, “Do you think that it can help me beat Pain?”

 

Fukasaku says, with a smile, “Normally, I couldn't say, but I think that it combined with those darn rings of yours could make an excellent combination. I'm not totally sure about Pain's fully abilities, so, I can't say for certain, Naruto-boy, but you would be quite formidable.”

 

Tsunade asks Fukasaku, “Fukasaku, how are you going to train Naruto while he is in another reality?”

 

Fukasaku says, with a smile, “I do have a theory about that.” Fukasaku snaps his fingers and toads about the size of Tsunade's desk bring two large scrolls out in which Fukasaku says, “I want Naruto-boy to perform a summoning jutsu when he reaches the alternate reality. Summoning Jutsu is kind of teleportation in which the animal being summoned is being moved through space and time. We, toads, have the ability to bring people to our home in the same fashion through a process of `reverse summoning', but it only works on those that signed the Toad Contact like Jiraiya-boy or Naruto-boy. If he can bring toads into another reality, it means that we can bring him back to ours and our home through the same process. These scrolls will act as a beacon for while Naruto has to go back to the alternate reality to train with those darn rings that he now has on his fingers, Tsunade-girl.”

 

Naruto says, with a foxy grin, “If the Pervy Sage can use that `Hermit Mode' stuff, then I'm in! If he can do, then so can I.” Naruto looks at his two rings and he says, “And when I earn the ring to keep theses and use them to their fullest, there is nothing that I can't do and I'll stop Madara right in his tracks! Believe it, everyone!”

 

Fukasaku thinks in his mind, with a sly smile, “He has got to be the child of prophecy! I know it, Jiraiya-boy!”

 

(In the Land of Lightning; on the meanwhile)

 

Within the Land of Lightning, we find a ninja with a Cloud Village headband on his forehead getting trapped in yellow energy binding made by Sasuke and his new yellow power ring.

 

Sasuke says, with a plain tone, “You don't stand a chance against our power. It is time for to tell us where the Eight Tails is hiding.”

 

The Cloud Ninja tells Sasuke, groaning as he is crushed, “Don't underestimate our clan, Akatsuki. I'm not going to tell you a thing about Bee-sama.”

 

Karin asks, curiously, “What now Sasuke?”

 

Sasuke says, with a plain tone and closing his eyes, “A fearful heart is easier to crack, Karin.” Sasuke opens his right eye and unleashes a powerful Genjutsu on the Cloud Ninja and his eyes go blank. Sasuke tells the Cloud Ninja, “You will give us the Eight Tails location.”

 

The Cloud Ninja says, his voice sounding distance, “He is training at Storm Cloud Ravine…”

 

Sasuke asks, with a plain commanding tone, “Any distinguishing features about the Eight Tails?”

 

The Cloud Ninja replies, “He welds eight blades… has the word `steel' tattooed on his right shoulder… tattooed bull horns onto his left cheeks…” The Cloud Ninja then collapses and Sasuke closes his eyes as the yellow bindings vanish from the Cloud Ninja causing him to drop onto the ground with a `thud'.

 

Sasuke then turns around and he says, with a plain tone, “Let go, Hawk.” The four members of Team Hawk, wearing Akatsuki cloaks, are heading off into the distance to find the `container' for the Eight Tailed Beast.

 

(Back in the Leaf Village; Sometime later)

 

Naruto, wearing his regular clothes and a backpack on his back, is walking towards the front gate of the village where our DC heroes will be waiting for him to head for their spacecraft. He plans to go to their universe and Oa and Odym to get his training to use his two Lantern rings. When he is nearing the gate, he looks to see Hinata in front of him.

 

Naruto tells Hinata, “Hi there, Hinata-chan!”

 

Hinata asks Naruto, curiously, “N-Naruto-kun, are you really leaving the village?”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “Just to get myself trained on how to use my rings. I think that I know well enough already, but there is always room for improvement.”

 

Hinata asks Naruto, “How long are you going to be gone?”

 

Naruto says, with a shrug, “I'm not really sure, Hinata-chan. I'm not sure if time works the same in their reality as in ours.”

 

Hinata tells Naruto, nervously and blushing, “N-Naruto-kun, I want to tell you something.”

 

Naruto tells Hinata, curiously, “What is it, Hinata-chan?” Hinata tries to get the words out, but she can't seem to say anything to Naruto. Out of pure instinct, Hinata kisses Naruto right on the cheek and Sakura arrives to see much to her surprise in which Naruto blushes from the kiss. Hinata, realizing what she did, really blushes and fights really hard not to faint.

 

Hinata yells out, nervously, “G-G-Good luck, N-Naruto-kun!” Hinata then runs off as Naruto looks at her leave while rubbing the cheek that she kissed with a blush on his cheeks. Sakura sighs at this and she smiles, but her smile is quite weak and she is solemn within her own mind.

 

Sakura then yells out, trying to remain composed, “Naruto, the others are waiting for you!”

 

Naruto comes out of his stupor and he says, nervously, “Sorry about that Sakura-chan!” Naruto then runs off to get to the front gate while Sakura gives a weak smile, but she gives a solemn sigh as well.

 

(A short time afterwards; at the front gate)

 

We find Naruto with our DC heroes in front of Tsunade, Shikamaru, and Sakura and Naruto's clothes have become his mixed Lantern uniform now.

 

Naruto tells them, “I should be heading off now everyone.”

 

Shikamaru tells Naruto, “Don't worry about us, Naruto.”

 

Tsunade tells Naruto, “We'll send word once we have the results and Fukasaku-sama is leaving a messenger frog with us. If anything comes up, we will send him the information and he will be waiting for you at his home, Naruto.”

 

Sakura tells Naruto, with a smile, “Good luck, Naruto. And remember, you are representing us in that `other world'.”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “Don't worry about it, Sakura-chan!”

 

Kyle tells Tsunade, “You can be assured that Naruto will be take care of, Lady Hokage.”

 

Tsunade says, with a smile, “I know that you will.”

 

Guy says, with a sly grin, “Come on, kid! We're off!”

 

Naruto says, with a snort, “I'm not a kid, Guy-san!”

 

Guy says, with a sly smile, “You are to me, kid! But you earned my respect by whacking Sinestro to the furthest reaches of your world, kid!” Soon after, our DC heroes fly off into the distance and Naruto follows them to their ship in which Sakura and on top of the building of the Lea Village, Hinata, watch him leave with concerned looks on their expressions.

 

(A bit later; Back in the DC universe)

 

From the same area where our DC heroes entered Naruto's world, we find the same ship coming out of the portal used earlier and inside Naruto looks out the screen as he sees the vast outer space including stars, planets, and whatnot in front of him.

 

Naruto yells out, amazed, “This is incredible everyone! Into the heavens themselves and I thought it was just stories!”

 

Supergirl says, with a smile, “We kind of do this every other week, Naruto. Hal and his buddies aren't the only ones going into outer space regularly.”

 

Superman says, with a smile, “That's a bit of an overstatement, Naruto.”

 

Supergirl asks Naruto, with a sly smile, “By the way, Naruto, do you have a girlfriend? Someone as awesome as you has a girlfriend, right, Naruto?”

 

Naruto says, nervously, “Actually, Kara-san, I really don't have a girlfriend.”

 

Supergirl asks Naruto, with a sly grin, “Really, Naruto? Isn't there some girl that's close to your heart? Two girls since you seem to be quite the charmer?”

 

Superman says, annoyed, “Kara, please cut it out!”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “Sorry about Kara, Naruto.”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “It is no problem, Hal-san!” However, Naruto thinks about the kiss Hinata gave her and he thinks about Sakura, Hinata, and his teams with both of them. He can't to feel warm around Hinata, but he feels the same around Sakura. Naruto thinks in his mind, “Why did Hinata kiss me like that? Could she be? It can't be that! She wanted to wish me luck!”

 

Chizuru AKA Kyuubi tells Naruto, slyly, “I'm not sure about that Naruto-kun! That Hyuga girl has it in for you! And I've got to admit that I thought that banshee was bad for you, but she is much better since she learned about me being inside of you and learned what you gone through. She is much better person than I originally thought and I sense her getting mixed feeling. She might have some for that Uchiha brat, but she becoming quite attached to you!”

 

Naruto tells Chizuru, “You have got to be kidding me, Chizuru-chan! Why would Hinata like me? And Sakura really likes Sasuke! That's all there is to it!”

 

Chizuru says, with a sly tone, “If it was years ago, then I would agree with you, kit! I would also try to keep away from her, but that Uchiha's betrayal left a nasty hole in her heart and it looks like your meeting with him didn't help things alone. Seeing how he would ruthlessly kill you without a thought really damaged her `faith' in the Uchiha brat! It seems like that `hole' is being filled by you, Naruto-kun! You are really capturing the eye of the ladies lately and pink haired girl might be flat chested, but I've got to admit that she has got a fine pair of legs and her body shape isn't that bad either!”

 

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “You are one perverted fox, Chizuru-chan! And you are a girl yourself!”

 

Chizuru says, with a sly tone, “And like that perverted teacher of yours, I'm proud of my perverseness, Naruto-kun! And I'm bisexual!”

 

Naruto tells Chizuru, with a major sigh, “I keep wondering if I'm better off you threatening to get out and kill me, Chizuru-chan.” Chizuru gives a mental sly giggle as Naruto tries to `filter her out' for the rest of the trip to Oa.

 

(Sometime later; on the planet Oa)

 

On the planet Oa, we find the ship landing in the main spaceport where Kilowog, Ganthet, and Arisia, a veteran Lantern that also survived the Blackest Night and who also has major feeling for Hal Jordan, look on as Superman, Supergirl, Steel, our four Green Lanterns, and Naruto leave the ship.

 

Kilowog yells out, with a serious tone, “It is about time that you, Poozers, got back!”

 

Arisia asks, pointing at Naruto, “Who is the kid?”

 

Naruto yells out, annoyed, “Why does everyone keep calling me a kid around here?!”

 

Kyle says, with a smile, “Arisia, this is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, one of our newest Lanterns.” Kilowog and Arisia gasp in shock and Naruto proudly shows the rings in his right hand.

 

Arisia yells out, stunned, “He is two rings on him! A Blue Lantern and one of ours!”

 

Kilowog asks, with a snort, “No way, Hal! This little kid is one of our newer recruits!”

 

Guy says, with a smirk, “Don't underestimate this kid, big guy! He sent Sinestro packing when he came to his home!”

 

This catches the attention of the other Lanterns in the area especially those with excellent hearing and Arisia asks, amazed, “He fought Sinestro and won?!”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “I wouldn't believed it if I didn't see it for myself.”

 

Kilowog tells Hal, “I would normally take your word for it, Hal, but I don't believe it! A kid like him beating Sinestro! It just isn't heard of around here!”

 

Naruto says, wit ha serious tone, “I did do that! When that jerk came to my village and threatened my precious people, I gave him what he deserved: The boot out of my village, big guy! Believe it!”

 

Kilowog tells Naruto, going over to him, “I don't believe it, little Poozer! Maybe you should give that ring back and go home to your mother.” Naruto gives an annoyed snarl and bashes him right the face sending Kilowog flying through the air and landing on the ground, hard, about five feet away.

 

When Kilowog gets to his feet and wipes the blood off his lips, Naruto tells Kilowog, with a foxy smile, “Go any more `smart remark' you ugly jerk!”

 

Kyle says, with a sigh, “Here we go everyone.”

 

Kilowog says, with a snort, “Okay, little Poozer, no one sucker punches me and gets away with it! It is so on, little Poozer!”

 

Naruto says, with a serious tone, “Bring it on, big guy!” Kilowog charges Naruto and he blocks Kilowog's punch in which he judo throws him onto the ground. Naruto then says, with a smirk, “Gotcha, big guy! Time for a little respect!”

 

Kilowog says, with a serious tone, “No, little Poozer, it is time to teach how we do things around here!” Kilowog uses his power ring to grab Naruto by the leg and he yelps as he throws him high in the air. As Kilowog gets to his feet, Naruto barely to back flip onto the ground in which he slides back a few feet.

 

Naruto says, with a serious tone, “That does it, big guy! I'm really getting serious now!” Naruto puts his hands into a classic ninja hand sign as he prepares to use one of his jutsu.

 

“Shadow Clone Jutsu!”

 

Just then four dozen Naruto Shadow Clones appear besides the real Naruto and Arisia and Kilowog give more curious than surprised looks.

 

Arisia asks, curiously, “A human with a duplication ability?”

 

Hal replies, with a plain tone, “Not really, Arisia.”

 

Naruto and his Shadow Clones yell out in unison, “Dog pile on the big ugly jerk!” Naruto and Shadow Clones charge against Kilowog and grab his arms in which he uses his power ring to unleash a burst of energy to blast them off which cause them to `poof' out in puff of smoke.

 

Kilowog says, with a smirk, “I see, little Poozer. You can make create energy duplicates of yourself. Nice trick, but it will take more than that to beat me.” Kilowog fought hard with more Naruto Shadow Clones, but he found a way to knock them in one more or another.

 

But then Naruto's voice booms, “Really, buddy? How about this?” Kilowog then looks to see the real Naruto diving down on him with a sphere of wind chakra in his right hand.

 

“Wind Style: Rasengan!”

 

John says, seriously, “This has gone too far, Hal.”

 

Hal says, with a nod, “I agree, John.” John and Hal then use their power rings to yank Kilowog away as Naruto's attack slams into the ground causing a huge explosion of man-made ground.

 

Kilowog yells out, annoyed while looking at John and Hal, “What was that for? I wasn't going too hard on the little Poozer!”

 

John says, with a plain tone, “He was about to do that to you, Kilowog.” When everyone looks where the attack hit, they see a ground sized created where Naruto's Rasengan hit and John says, with a plain tone, “And that's one of his own abilities and not created by the ring.”

 

Kilowog says, with a snort, “Okay, I'll admit that the little Poozer is tougher than that I thought and with abilities like that, I do believe that he has a good chance against Sinestro, but that doesn't mean I admit defeat or he could have won against Sinestro.”

 

Ganthet says, shaking his head, “If you are done, Kilowog, I think that we should greet your Corps newest member.”

 

Naruto looks at Ganthet and he says, “Do I know you? Wait a minute, here! You are that `Ganthet' guy, who was kicked because you and another experienced emotions!”

 

Ganthet says, with a smile, “I see that your new ring has shown a lot!”

 

Naruto says, with a foxy smile, “That's right! The name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze, the next Hokage or leader of my home, and hoping to be a new Lantern to protect my world!”

 

Ganthet says, with a nod, “You are an interesting human to say the least, Naruto Namikaze.”

 

Kyle asks, curiously, “Shall we escort him to Sodam and Salakk?”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “That's a good idea, Kyle.”

 

Guy says, with a serious tone, “Come on, kid, follow us!” Naruto gives a snort as he followed everyone else towards Planetary Citadel.

 

(Sometime afterwards; Inside of the Planetary Citadel)

 

Inside of the Planetary Citadel, we find Salakk, current keeper of Book of Oa, Sodam, the current and only Guardian of the Universe from the Green Lantern Corps, and Soranik Natu assembled around Ganthet, our four Earth Green Lanterns, Kilowog, Arisia, and Naruto in which they hear the story from Naruto and our four Earth Green Lantern as well as use the rings to show off `records' of what happened.

 

When everyone was said and done, Soranik says, amazed, “I can't believe it! This kid beat Sinestro!”

 

Salakk says, with a plain tone, “Even if the boy comes from a `breed' of humans with incredible abilities, it isn't easy to beat Sinestro. I must say that this boy does have the qualities needed to be a Green Lantern.”

 

John asks, curiously, “Are we sure about this?”

 

Guy tells John, with a plain tone, “He followed the munchkins around this time and what did we get, John? That whole `Blackest Night' mess, that's what John!”

 

Sodam says, with a serious tone, “I know that we can't afford to make such mistakes ever again and I'm going to make sure of that!”

 

Arisia tells Sodam, with a serious tone, “You are kind of new to the whole `Guardian of the Universe' thing. Even through you had experience as Ion, you are new as a `mortal' Guardian of the Universe, Sodam.”

 

Guy tells Sodam, “She does have a point, bud. But I don't think recreating those munchkins is going to help out and it just might lead to the same mistakes!”

 

Salakk says, with a plain tone, “I'm not sure about that. The Guardians were blinded by Scar's treachery.”

 

Guy asks, with a snort, “And who's fault is that? And who's fault by ignoring such things as the `Blackest Night' out of experiencing fear?”

 

Hal tells Guy, plainly, “This isn't the time for a `blame game', Guy.”

 

Naruto asks, with a plain tone, “Geez, you guys! If you are having leadership problems, why don't you form some kind of council with this guy as its head or something?”

 

Everyone looks at Naruto in surprise and Kyle says, with a surprised tone, “Naruto does have a point everyone.”

 

Salakk says, nodding his head, “The young one does indeed has point. Thanks to your research into his home's political structure, I do believe that it would prove valuable since our leadership is currently in chaos. However, I believe that only top members of Corps currently, including senior members and Honor Guard members, should make up this council and Sodam, as the last remaining Guardian, should make up the leader of this council. It will be temporary until we find a permanent solution and the Corps is reorganized completed.”

 

Guy says, with a sly grin, “The kid had a good idea! Your friends back at home would be proud of you, kid! You showed that miracles can happen!”

 

Naruto says, with a snort, “Very funny, Guy-san.”

 

Soranik asks, curiously, “Shouldn't we be putting the new rookie through his training? With Sinestro and the Orange Lantern in that universe not to mention some kind of `immortal' guy with a Sinestro Corps ring running around, they are going to need the newbie as quickly as possible. Shouldn't get started right away?”

 

Ganthet says, with a nod, “I believe that's very wise.”

 

Kilowog says, with a sly tone, “Hear that Poozer, you are in my court now!”

 

Naruto says, with a foxy smirk, “Bring it on, big guy!”

 

John says, with a moan, “Here we go, Hal.”

 

(Back in Naruto's reality; on the meanwhile)

 

It is late at night and we find one Hinata Hyuga heading out to training field 7 where Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto became a team for the first time and she looks to see Sakura looking at the stars there.

 

Sakura asks Hinata, when she sees her, “Hinata, what are you doing here?”

 

Hinata says, a bit nervously, “J-Just out for a walk, Sakura-chan.”

 

Sakura asks Hinata, with a smile, “Really, Hinata-chan?”

 

Hinata asks Sakura, curiously, “W-What are you doing here, Sakura-chan?”

 

Sakura says, a bit nervously, “I'm here to look at the stars. I'm wondering if they have the same stars where those guys came from.”

 

Hinata replies, curiously, “I really don't know, Sakura-chan.” Hinata goes over to Sakura and Sakura look at Hinata with a weak smile.

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “Hinata-chan, I saw what happened when Naruto was leaving.”

 

Hinata blushes and she replies, nervously, “You saw, Sakura-chan?!”

 

Sakura says, with a nod, “I did and it is common fact that you have something for Naruto-kun.”

 

Hinata says, with a sigh, “Hanabi told me as much, Sakura-chan.”

 

Sakura says, with a smile, “I'm not surprised that you like Naruto-kun so much. He always seems to bring out the best in others.” Sakura asks Hinata, curiously, “Why don't you tell him how you feel, Hinata-chan?”

 

Hinata says, nervously, “It's j-just I-I can't Sakura-chan! Naruto-kun has been such an inspiration for me and more. Even when he left, it was inspiration to make me stronger. He is just so strong from the start and I felt so weak from the beginning. To me, he is so far away even when he is near. And plus, he really likes you.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “I think that you are making an impression on him. Out of all our friends, Hinata-chan, he talks about you the most.”

 

Hinata asks Sakura, curiously, “Really, Sakura-chan?”

 

Sakura says, with a smile, “He told me about the missions that he had with you and others before he left, Hinata-chan. He mentioned you a lot and I'm not pulling your leg here.”

 

Hinata says, with a smile, “That's nice for you to say, Sakura-chan.”

 

Sakura says, with a weak smile and nervous tone, “I know that Naruto-kun likes me a lot and I'm not sure if I can deny this, but I'm starting to really `warm up' to him myself.” Hinata looks at Sakura in surprise and Sakura says, with a sigh, “Hinata-chan, I want to tell you something about Naruto-kun. Something that I learned about him that shocked me to the core and made me more amazed about him, but it is a top secret of the village and if anyone found out that I told you, I'm not Lady Tsunade would be able to prevent my execution. You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone, Hinata-chan.”

 

Hinata replies, nodding her head, “Okay, Sakura-chan.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, “Do you remember the Nine-Tailed Fox, Hinata-chan?”

 

Hinata tells Sakura, with a nod, “Of course I do Sakura-chan. It was the demon fox that attacked our village around sixteen years ago that our Fourth Hokage died to destroy.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a plain tone, “The Fourth Hokage didn't destroy the Nine-Tailed Fox since it was impossible to kill. He had sealed it within a newborn baby and the jutsu needed to do that killed our Fourth Hokage.”

 

Hinata asks, amazed, “Who was the newborn baby?”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a plain tone, “Remember, Hinata-chan, the day that the fox was sealed was the day that Naruto was born.”

 

Hinata quickly got the point and Hinata asks, stunned, “You mean that?”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a nod, “Naruto-kun was that baby. When I learned this fact, I realized why he had such a horrible childhood and why the villagers beat up on him. It horrified me to the way that I treated Naruto-kun in the past. In my mind, it was totally unfair that Naruto was treated as if was the fox and not the `container' of the fox. Naruto found out about the fox when Mizuki tricked him into getting the forbidden scroll.” Hinata was shocked and horrified about this fact about her crush that Sakura revealed to her, but it made her realize that it was why Naruto became the way that he is.

 

Hinata tells Sakura, with a smile, “If you are worried about me, Sakura-chan, because that doesn't change my feelings for him. It makes me horrified that the villagers would treat him so badly, but it makes more amazed that Naruto-kun can overcome such stuff. It shows me that Naruto-kun is more impressive than ever and it makes grow fonder for him.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “I'm really glad to hear that Hinata-chan.”

 

Hinata asks Sakura, curiously, “Sakura-chan, if I'm curiously, I thought that you still cared for Sasuke-san.”

 

Sakura's expression becomes solemn and she says, solemnly, “I did, once, Hinata-chan, but after what happened nearly three years ago. I saw Naruto-kun so badly beat up and learning that Sasuke was so willing to kill him for the strength to kill his brother, it horrified me beyond all rational thought. And Sasuke and Naruto-kun were like brothers to each other! Seeing him again just awhile ago didn't help things and seeing him so willing to kill Naruto without a thought, I was so horrified. It put a hole in my heart and Naruto-kun seems to fill it. To be honest, I really don't know. I'm so confused. I still feel something for Sasuke, but I feel so much for Naruto-kun. I felt it was like brother and sister, with Naruto-kun's attitude, but now, I'm not so sure. And knowing that you care for him so much and after seeing you `show your affections', it has got me more confused and torn up inside.”

 

Hinata tells Sakura, with a smile, “You are a strong person, Sakura-chan. I've seen you work things out.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “I'm not as strong as you think, Hinata-chan. I couldn't help Naruto-kun out really and that fox nearly took control of him during our mission to save Sasuke.” Sakura then explains what happened on the mission with Yamato, Sai, and Naruto. When she was done, Sakura says, solemnly, “Naruto recently restored his seal and we found out that the fox isn't really a demon, but a fox spirit that was controlled by Madara Uchiha for some kind of revenge, but the fox's chakra isn't still good for him. And that mission showed that even through I'm much stronger than before, Naruto is far stronger and I'm still lagging behind him and Sasuke.”

 

Hinata tells Sakura, with a smile, “I see, Sakura-chan.”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “Guess you aren't the only one with confidence issues, Hinata-chan.” The two girls share a good laugh and look up into the sky. Sakura tells Hinata, with a smile, “I really missed Naruto-kun. His antics always brought a smile to my face even through they annoyed me and with him gone during all that time, this village really became `dull' if you know what I mean Hinata-chan.” Hinata nods her head in agreement with Sakura, but then the images of her dreams come back to haunt her and she becomes solemn.

 

Hinata asks Sakura, “Sakura-chan, can I tell you something?”

 

Sakura tells Hinata, curiously, “You can tell me anything, Hinata-chan.” Hinata then explains to Sakura about her recent dreams and Sakura gasps in shock when she hears them.

 

Sakura tells Hinata, with an amazed tone, “I've been getting similar dreams, Hinata-chan!” Hinata gasps in shock and Sakura explains, seriously, “I've been seeing Naruto-kun fighting in the same manner that you have been, but he is wearing robes similar to the Fourth Hokage's clothes and a hat similar to the Hokage. He has some kind of sword with him and he is leading men and women like those four `Green Lanterns' against some kind of enemy welding `dark energies' coming from rings like the one Naruto-kun has been using. Then I see him helping a powerful being and he get sneaked attack by Madara Uchiha, who is wearing that mask, of his. The two of them battle intensely and they fall to the ground, but that's when I wake up.”

 

Hinata says, worriedly, “I'm really worried, now, Sakura-chan. I think that they were visions of the future.”

 

Sakura says, with a nod, “I feel the same way and it makes me more worried for our friends and family since they become part of our dreams. But it makes me really worried about Naruto-kun. I know that Naruto-kun isn't one to be taken down easily and I hope that he is all right, wherever he is, but I can't help to worried about him, Hinata-chan.”

Hinata replies, nodding her head, “I know how you feel Sakura-chan.”

 

The two of them think at the same time, “I really wish that we can help Naruto-kun!” Just then the two of them notice violet lights heading towards them and they leap towards the source in which the leap back as they violet glow get near them causing two familiar violet rings to appear in front of them.

 

Hinata asks, curiously, “Violet rings?”

 

Just then one of the violet rings spoke, in a female voice, “Sakura Haruno and Hinata Hyuga, you are both capable of great love.”

 

Sakura says, realizing something, “Wait a minute, here, Hinata-chan! Violet rings? You are rings of the Star Sapphires!”

 

The violet ring replies, “That's right, Sakura Haruno. We have been in search for people with the capability of great love and you and Hinata Hyuga are those two people.”

 

Sakura replies, seriously, “Sorry, lady, but we are not biting! We know all about the `emotional spectrum' and the Star Sapphires. Let's just say that the information wasn't too good and I already had caused enough trouble when another ring `possessed' me! Let's go, Hinata-chan!”

 

Sakura and Hinata turn away and the violet ring asks, “Will you not join to save the people that you love especially the boy that the two of you love so much?”

 

That question catches the two kunoichi's attention causing the two of them to look at the rings and Hinata asks, curiously, “What do you mean? How do you know?”

 

The violet ring replies, “We know, Hinata Hyuga.” Just then an image of Naruto Uzumaki appears and the violet ring says, “This is the boy that you care about so much. Naruto Uzumaki, welder of a Green Lantern and Blue Lantern ring. We have learned much about him and we know about the `Spectrum Wars'. The energies of the emotional spectrum course through him like his own blood and he will prove vital factor in the `Spectrum Wars', but it will make him a target as well. Sinestro and Madara will only be the first. There will be many others that will come out to take his deeper powers away or destroy him and they will be far worse than the enemies that you face.We fear that his death in the upcoming conflict is highly possible even with his skills and abilities.”

 

Hinata and Sakura gasp in shock and Sakura yells out, a bit angrily, “This has got to be a trick! You are trying to use our feelings for Naruto-kun!”

 

The violet ring replies, “Can you take that risk? I know that you have heard things about us, but they are based on the loveless Guardians of the Universe even if they are mainly no more and they have been recently `replaced' by a new `mortal' Guardian. There is more to the Star Sapphires than you have heard. We merely wish to protect and spread love to all reaches of our reality and beyond. Sakura Haruno, you have a great hole in your heart. Your `childhood crush' turned into love, but he didn't return that love and he nearly killed Naruto Uzumaki, who you care for so much, right now. You also found out a great secret about him and became guilt of the pain that you gave to him in the past.” Sakura gasps at the violet ring's knowledge of that much and the violet ring tells Sakura, continuing its `explanation', “You grew fond of him and cared for him, knowing the full facts about the person that's your `teammate'. In a way, he helped inspire you to get stronger and you desired and needed to help him. You became more hurt when you found that the person that you gave your love once before ready to kill Naruto without hesitation. However, you still care for him, but you also love and care for Naruto Uzumaki as well. You are torn and there is a hole in your heart that wishes to be healed. We can help you fill that void and give you the strength to help both of you protect him. Hinata Hyuga and Sakura Haruno, if you come to us, we can help you save him. Naruto Uzumaki's future, with the hidden strength inside of him, looks beaks as he will make sure to defeat all of his `precious people' and the energy of the `emotional light spectrum', all of it, course through him like his own blood. He has willpower, hope, compassion, love, rage, and so much more within him. The darkness will take notice and threaten his life.”

 

Sakura thinks in her mind, “Can we take that risk? With this wacky stuff that's happening, things are going to get more intense! There could be a greater evil at work here and Naruto-kun can be in danger!”

 

Hinata thinks in her mind, “What if what this ring told Sakura-chan and me is true? What if Naruto-kun dies in the future? What if the visions that we saw come to pass and Naruto-kun won't survive? How can I just stand here and do nothing?”

 

Sakura and Hinata look at each other and the violet ring asks, “What is your choice? If you choose not to take the rings, we shall leave without any hesitation. What will you do?”

 

Sakura and Hinata extend their right hands and they say in unison, “We accept the rings and we choose to become Star Sapphires.”

 

Immediately, the rings attached to Sakura's and Hinata's right ring fingers and the violet rings say in unison, “Welcome to the Star Sapphires!” Sakura and Hinata yelps as they are encased in violet crystals and after a minute, the crystal burst to reveal Sakura and Hinata in new Star Sapphire uniforms.

 

Sakura has light magenta eyeshadow, deep violet lips, and she is wearing a Star Sapphire uniform similar to Fatality's Star Sapphire uniform.

 

Hinata has deep violet eyeshadow, deep sparkling violet lips, and she is wearing a Star Sapphire uniform similar to Carol Faris' Star Sapphire uniform.

 

The two new Star Sapphires look at each other and Hinata asks, with a smile on her lips, “What do we do now?”

 

Hinata's Star Sapphire ring replies, “Follow your heart.” The two new Star Sapphires smile warmly at each other and quickly take the skies in which they feel a new sense of `freedom' as they fly through the air.

 

Hinata tells Sakura, amazed, “Sakura-chan, this feels wonderful!” Sakura nods her head, but then two of them look to see Star Sapphire Carol Faris fly towards them.

 

Carol tells the two of them, with a smile, “My name is Carol Faris and I'm leader of the Star Sapphires.”

 

Sakura says, with a smile, “Sakura Haruno, Carol-san.”

 

Hinata says, with a bow, “And I'm Hinata Hyuga, Carol-san. We are honored to meet you.”

 

Carol tells the two new Star Sapphires, with a smile, “Sakura, you and Hinata will need to follow me to Zamaron.” The two new Star Sapphires nodded as all three of them fly off into the night sky and Sakura and Hinata look at the village one last time before vanishing into the night sky.

 

(A few days later; Back on Oa)

 

Right now, we find Naruto, in his Green Lantern uniform, facing off against multiple opponents including a few veteran Green Lanterns that survived `Blackest Night' and when they attack him, Naruto uses a combination of his ninja skills and his Green Lantern ring to deflect, block, or stop their attacks and take them down without too much trouble through the veteran Green Lanterns were tougher than most. Kilowog and Salakk are watching with amazement and great interest as Hal flies onto the field.

 

Hal asks, curiously, “How is his doing?”

 

Kilowog says, amazed, “The little Poozer is incredible! He is taking to the training very well and he soaks my demonstrations up like a sponge. Don't make things too complex for the kid and he gets it in a snap!”

 

Salakk says, with a nod, “Lantern Rookie Naruto from Universe fifty-three has become very excellent. His self-studies of the ring and his combat skills that he learned from his native realm made him quite fit for duty. If he keeps this up, his training will be done in no time.”

 

Hal asks, curiously, “Universe fifty-three?”

 

Salakk says, with a plain tone, “Any universe beyond the fifty-two that we know of have to be named, so, we decided to start with Lantern Naruto's realm with fifty-three and we are planning to find the other realms that the other rings have gone into as well. With the damages from `Blackest Night' and the gateways to realms beyond the fifty-two known alternate realities wide open, we are going to need to expand since Sinestro and his Corps rings, the Red Lantern rings, and the Orange Lantern have found their way into these realities. Most likely, the Green Lantern Corps is going to need to be an interdimension rather than a universe police force at this time and Lantern Naruto will be the first recruit.”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “Normally, I wouldn't say it is right for to influence realities beyond ours or at least, the ones that we know, but thanks to that whole `Blackest Night' mess, we are going to need to. With all those rings and the `emotional light spectrum' in all realities, as long as those gateways remain open, infinite realities are in danger.”

 

Salakk says, with a nod, “And we can't just rush into these other realities since they might be very different from ours. We need Green Lanterns from these realities in order to show those people the Green Lanterns are a force of good, understand the other realities that we are going into, and aid in cooperating with these alternate realities if we are going to survive this upcoming `Spectrum Wars'.”

 

Kilowog says, with a nod, “I've got to admit that Salakk has a point and we do need to booster our forces. Our Corps is a total mess and this young Poozer could be a great help, like it or not, if you are going to help protect these other realities from stuff in our universe, Hal.”

 

Naruto then calls out, “Kilowog-sensei, I think that everyone is finished!” The three Green Lanterns look to see the Lanterns that Naruto was battling are all over the ground and rubbing their heads.

 

Kilowog says, with a smile, “Okay, Poozer, you did great! Your training for today is finished!”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “That's great, Kilowog-sensei! Catch you later, everyone!” Naruto then flies into the sky and away from the others. When he is a good distance away, he bites his own finger and performs a Summoning Jutsu in which Fukasaku appears in front of him.

 

Fukasaku says, amazed, “It is about time, Naruto-boy! I was worried that it wouldn't work and that first time was a fluke!”

 

Naruto says, nervously, “I've actually been getting used to life here Geezer Hermit!”

 

Fukasaku tells Naruto, with a smile, “You must be working really hard!”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “It isn't too bad, but learning these rules from that big book and stuff makes my head spin! I'm not too good on books!”

 

Fukasaku says, with a sly grin, “I can see that Naruto-boy!”

Just then a familiar voice calls out, “Hey, kid, who said that you can bring frog legs here without our permission?!” Naruto yelps as he looks to see Guy, Kyle, and Soranik in front of them.

 

Fukasaku yells out, with a serious tone, “I resent that greatly young fellow! Come on, Naruto-boy, we have got training to do!” Fukasaku then vanishes in a puff of smoke.

 

Naruto says, nervously, “Tell Kilowog-sensei I'll be back soon everyone!” Just then Naruto vanishes in a puff of smoke much to Soranik's surprise.

 

Soranik asks, surprised, “How did he do that?”

 

Kyle says, with a smile, “It is a long story, Soranik.”

 

Guy says, with a smile, “Don't worry about it! That kid isn't going to skip out on us or Corps! He isn't the type! And Sodam and Salakk already know about this `bit'! He is just going to get trained in more of his home's ways.”

 

Soranik asks, perplexed, “He has returned to his home reality?”

 

Kyle says, with a smile, “I'll try to explain Soranik, but it will be awhile.”

 

(At Mount Myoboku; A bit later)

 

Back in Naruto's home reality, we find him in front of Gamakichi, who has grown large enough for Naruto to be able to stand on his head, in the huge tropical paradise of the ninja toads.

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “Nice work, Gamakichi.”

 

Gamakichi says, with a smirk, “No problem, Naruto! It looks our jutsu can make us travel through realities.”

 

Fukasaku says, with a plain tone, “I wasn't sure, but it looks like that summoning is like space/time transport, it works while even in other worlds, Naruto-boy. So, you and I can go back and forth as we please.”

 

Naruto says, with a nod, “That's good to know Geezer Hermit, but we need to learn as much as I can. They only gave me awhile and who's knows if our time is like their time.”

 

Just then Naruto's Green Lantern ring blares out, “Attention, Lantern Naruto Uzumaki. Ion entity detected. Repeat: Ino entity detected.”

 

Gamakichi asks, perplexed, “Who is this `Ion' that this ring is talking about?”

 

Naruto says, with a serious tone, “He is supposed to be some kind of living being made of willpower, but he can't do anything unless he has a host. He is supposed to be a `symbiotic' or whatever. In short, he lives within you and you get to use his incredible powers that can make you do practically anything that's above and beyond this ring can do.”

 

Fukasaku asks Naruto, with a curious tone, “Does these `Ion entity' be some kind of green energy being that looks like a cross between a shark and a whale?”

 

Naruto yells out, stunned, “You know where he is Geezer Hermit?!”

 

Fukasaku says, with a nod, “Sometime ago, this strange entity appeared here and we didn't know what it was, but we sensed that there was no evil in it. We then felt it and it managed to communicate with us showing that it is made of pure willpower. We had an ancient crystal that said to be filled with `Willpower's Light' and we took him there in which the crystal kept the entity healthy and well, but we leave that he is a symbiotic organization that needs a host. We can take you to him right away.” Fukasaku hops off into the distance with Naruto running after him.

 

(Elsewhere in the ninja toad's home; a good time afterwards)

 

Within the cave that housed the strange crystal and the Ion entity, we find Naruto and Fukasaku in front of the Ion entity inside of the crystal.

 

Naruto says, amazed, “That's Ion all right, Geezer Toad!”

 

Fukasaku says, with a plain tone, “Since that there Ion thing is pure willpower and this ancient crystal contains willpower energy, we knew that this can support it.”

Naruto yells out, excitedly, “Ion, the name is Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze! I'm a new Lantern that lives here! I'm here to take you home!”

 

Fukasaku tells Naruto, with a plain tone, “Naruto-boy, this Ion might be a benevolent entity, but it isn't much of a talker. You should take the crystal back to its home world and let them sort this out.” Just then Ion focuses its eyes on Naruto and then the crystal gives off a powerful green glow that focuses Fukasaku to cover his eyes, but Naruto doesn't need to for some reason. Just then Ion entity emerges from the crystal and before Naruto can say or do anything, it dives into Naruto's body and bathes in powerful green light and flames causing Naruto to cry out as energy flows through his body. When the light and flames died down and Fukasaku can look again, he gasps to see Naruto wearing Kyle Rayner's `uniform' when he was Ion!

 

Naruto asks, perplexed, “What just happened here folks?”

 

Just then a gentle voice tells Naruto, mentally, “I merged with you of course, Naruto Namikaze. It is unusual for me to talk with my host, but you are different since you are the `container' for something already.”

 

Naruto asks, surprised, “Ion? Is that you?”

 

The voice replies, “That's right, Naruto. The immense willpower within you and other `unique qualities' allow me to communicate with you unlike my pervious hosts like Kyle Rayner and Sodam Yat. I have known about you since I came here, Naruto Namikaze. There is a great war coming and many worlds and infinite number of lives are in mortal danger. And I know all about the threat since our merging. Naruto, you play an important role in upcoming events. You are very vital and your survival much be ensured. Right now, you are the best candidate to be my host. And I've already met your `tenant', but you and your `tenant' are two different things. You have great willpower and the qualities to be one of the best Lanterns in which you need to be. Your world and countless others will have their `fates' determined by the choices that you make and your survival. Since this is the case, for this moment, you are the new torchbearer for the Green Lantern Corps and my new host! You are the new Ion!”

 

Naruto asks, curiously, “Are you sure that you have the right guy?”

 

Ion replies, with its gentle voice, “I know so, Naruto. All you need to do is host my being inside of you and all of my powers are yours.”

 

Naruto asks, curiously, “Isn't that kind of unfair to you?”

 

Ion replies, “I am a being of willpower and unlike Parallax, I am a symbiotic being. It is interesting that you are concerned about me, but this is how I merge with my hosts and give them complete free will. And I know that you will use my powerswisely, Naruto.”

 

Naruto looks over himself and he thinks, “If Lee and Gai-sensei got a look at me, they would have a field day!” Naruto then smiles and he thinks in his mind, “But this feeling is unbelievable! I feel like I do anything! Madara and Pain, watch out because I've got a major upgrade!”

Fukasaku asks Naruto, “Are you feeling okay Naruto-boy?”

 

Naruto says, with a smirk, “Better than ever, Geezer Hermit! And by the way, you call me another name and its Ion!” Naruto's whole body gives a powerful green aura and Fukasaku can't help to smile at Naruto's confident smile in which he says, with a foxy smile, “Let's get to work on that Hermit Mode!”

 

(A few days later; At Zamaron)

 

At the planet of Zamaron, home base to the Star Sapphire Corps, we find Queen Apa'po in front of Sakura Haruno and Hinata Hyuga with a warm smile on her face as Sakura and Hinata wipe tears from their eyes.

 

Hinata says, lowly, “It was so wonderful…”

 

Sakura says, with a smile, “I felt it… the true love of people of this universe and beyond… I don't know how to describe it…”

 

Queen Apa'po says, with a nod, “It is truly the most wonderful of things and today, you, both, have become truly one of us. Welcome, Star Sapphire Sakura Haruno. And Star Sapphire Hinata Hyuga. You are both our representatives in your universe, Universe Fifty-Three, and charged with protecting and spreading love through our world, yours, and beyond.”

 

Hinata says, with a warm smile, “Thank you, Queen Apa'po-sama. We are truly honored.”

 

Queen Apa'po says, with a warm smile, “And we are honored to go have you join us. It will soon be time for you to return home.”

 

Sakura tells Queen Apa'po, with a warm smile, “When true love is in danger in our world or beyond, Hinata-chan and I will be there, your majesty.”

 

Queen Apa'po tells Sakura and Hinata, “Your fellow Star Sapphires are waiting for you. Carol shall aid you in your journey home. You will need her power along with your own to create the portal home.”

 

Hinata says, with a bow, “We understand, Queen Apa'po-sama.” Hinata and Sakura then head down to join the other Star Sapphires while Queen Apa'po heads inside to her `palace'. Once inside, she is joined by her attendants with images of Naruto Uzumaki projected by crystals in front of them.

 

One of her attendants says, amazed, “A man of such purity! I had never heard of such a thing!”

 

Queen Apa'po says, with a smile, “It is very rare, but not unheard of. He has captured the hearts of our two newest Star Sapphires and information that they gave us to show that he is nearly as pure as the wind. His teacher might have `tainted' him a bit, but he has suppressed or gotten rid of that `taint'. He shows to be one that wins the hearts of women through his bravery, kindness, compassion, and more. He considers those that are close to him `precious' be it male or female. His home disgraced him for something that he isn't and he defends and cares about them with his heart. He has great willpower not to fall into the darkness of such pain and misery. He has overcome incredible fear and that makes him an excellent choice for the Green Lanterns. But since he has two rings, the ring of willpower and the ring of hope, he has shown to be much more.”

 

Queen Apa'po's attendant asks, curiously, “Who will he choose? Will he choose them both?”

 

Queen Apa'po replies, with a smile, “He is shown as a being that will do like our Star Sapphires do: He will follow his heart. He has great love within himself as well as great willpower, hope, and compassion. His traditions will demand to `use' him for his `bloodlines', but he will not be `used'. He is too strong for that and he will only take the hands of woman that he loves and love him back. He is just such a being.” Queen Apa'po says, with a smile, “We may have to meet this Naruto Uzumaki Namikaze and judge him for ourselves.”

 

(On the meanwhile; Back on Oa)

 

Returning to Oa, we find Hal, Kyle, Guy, John, and Kilowog assembled together as they wait for the return of Naruto from his home world at the ninja toads' home.

 

Kilowog asks, curiously, “Are you sure about allowing the little Poozer to run off like that?”

 

John says, with a serious tone, “I didn't like it as much as you, Kilowog, but this toad known as `Fukasaku' argued greatly about Naruto's training with him. Normally, the Guardians would make sure that it goes there way, but they are not exactly here right now and our Corps isn't in a good way.”

 

Guy says, with a sly grin, “And this kid isn't somebody that runs off!”

 

Kilowog says, with a nod, “I've got to admit that little Poozer takes his training seriously and with a smile, too! He is one tough kid!” Just then a small cloud of smoke appears in front of them and when the smoke clears, they gasp to see Naruto in his new Ion uniform in front of them.

 

Naruto says, with a foxy smile, “What's up everyone? You look like you've seen a ghost!”

 

Kyle says, stunned, “Naruto, those clothes…!”

 

Naruto says, rubbing his head sheepishly, “Oops, I forgot about that for a moment! You see, I found out that Ion entity was in Geezer Hermit's home and when I prepared to him back here, it jumped inside of me!”

 

Guy yells out, stunned, “Don't tell me that you are the new Ion?!”

 

Naruto says, with a nervous smile, “It is actually what I'm saying, Guy-san! Amazing, isn't it?!”

 

Guy slaps himself on the forehead and John says, drolly, “That's one way of putting it.”

 

Kilowog yells out, stunned, “How does this Poozer do it? He is barely here and he has become the new torchbearer for our Corps!”

 

Hal says, with a plain tone, “We had better talk you to Sodam and Salakk and you had better explain to them there.”

 

Naruto says, with a smile, “You got it, Hal-san!”

 

John says, with a sigh, “I don't know how we are going to explain this to everyone!” Soon after, all of them start heading off to the Planetary Citadel to find out about how Naruto became the new Ion, the torchbearer for the Green Lantern Corps.
