Dan Da Dan is a romance, if it were created by the love child of FLCL and Bleach. There's psychic ghost monsters, aliens that want to remove genitals so they can breed their own race and stop cloning, a GILF with a terrible personality, and a Turbo Grandma. I did say this was a romance, but the anime is skipping a lot of the romantic elements in favor of the frantic action scenes and fights between the possessed male lead, the psychic girlfriend, and the various monsters of the week. Should you read the manga? If you want to understand the characters better, then yes. If you want the frantic animation like FLCL? Watch the anime. You'll probably end up doing both.
