Note: I'm sorry about what I've done to TK. And I'm sure that I'll receive plenty of flames from Davis haters and Takari fans. But I'll make it clear now: I do NOT hate TK.

Episode 2: Falling Hope, Rising Darkness

Cody (Voice Over): We received a message from the digiworld warning of great danger, so we responded immediately. All except TK that is. Things seemed quiet, until Chronomon appeared. We found that DNA digivolving wasn't working at first, and Armor Digivolving seemed to have stopped working entirely. When I finally decided to let Armadillomon digivolve and try to fight Chronomon. And he did more than I had thought. He digivolved to his ultimate form: Paleoankylomon and defeated Chronomon, who turned out to have been made from Control Spires, and we all know what that means... Arukenimon's back!

(Theme)

(Davis and Kari are walking through a mall with their digimon following closely behind them)
Kari: great idea, Davis.
Davis: thanks, Kari
(They run into TK)
Kari (whispering to Davis): Remember, he doesn't know yet, so try to go easy on him.
Davis (whispering back): I won't say a word. But, what's our story for if he asks?
Kari (whispering back): We came here and accidentally met up. Then we decided we should go together.
TK: What's with all the secrecy?
Davis: I was going to ask you the same question, why didn't you respond to the warning from the digiworld?
Kari: (Quietly) Davis, take it easy on him.
TK: So, Kari, as long as we're both here, why don't we go to a movie or something?
Kari: (nervously) I have plans already...
TK: Then how about lunch?
Kari: I don't think so
(TK sees Gatomon and Demiveemon)
TK: Oh, I see. You don't want to draw attention to them.
Kari: That must be it...
TK: then why not leave Davis to take care of them?
Davis: No chance, TB.
TK: If Kari wants to then it's her choice, definitely not anything you have control over. How did you two meet here anyways?
Davis: We were both here and we figured...
Kari (interrupting): No, Davis, tell him the truth.
Davis: We're on a date.
(First TK looks stunned, then bursts out laughing)
TK: No, seriously.
Davis: We've been going out since shortly after Malemyotismon was defeated.
Kari: It's true. TK, just let go.
(Davis and Kari walk off, leaving a very confused TK behind)

(Late at night in TK's room)
TK: I know, Kari has a phone in her room. I'll call her to tell her that her little prank worked.
(TK dials a number)
(The phone rings)
Davis (on the other end): Hello.
TK (really pissed off): Davis! What are you doing there at this hour?
Davis: We told you, but you didn't believe us.
TK (Still angry): goodbye Davis.
(TK slams down the phone)
Kari: (to Davis) why are we always interrupted at the crucial second that we can't get back to, you know, somewhere between fore...
Davis: It's some kind of curse. And we'll just see if we can't get back to it!
(Davis reaches down)
Kari: Was that TK?
Davis: yeah, he seemed pretty mad.
(Davis continues to reach down)
Davis: (to Kari) can't get back to that second, eh?
Kari: (between gasps) I was wrong.

(The next day, TK is thinking)
TK: (Thinking) how could this happen? Did I not make the move soon enough? Did I make it too soon? The Crest of hope, what is that? The odd crest out. On the original team, I was just Matt's little brother. On this team, I'm T Whatever-letter Davis thinks of.
(TK's crest starts fading away)
TK: I know what I'll do, I'll make an identity for myself. One which they'll never forget!
(Patamon flies in)
Patamon: TK, your crest, it's fading.
TK: (thinking) let it fade. I don't need it anyways. Not with my plans. (Out loud) Patamon, have you noticed Kari and Davis have been spending a lot of time together?
Patamon: You finally found out?
TK: I ran into them at the mall. But I didn't believe them, so I phoned Kari at about 1 this morning.
Patamon: and...
TK: Davis answered the phone. I'm going away to build a personality for myself. Are you with me?
Patamon: (suspiciously) what kind of personality?
TK: One that will make them regret their decision. I found some codes still hidden deep in Ken's computer and...
(Patamon flies away)
Patamon: I have to warn the others, if he's thinking about what I think he is.

(Meanwhile Tai's woken up and walked to the door of Kari's room)

Tai: Look, Kari, Davis, I don't mind that you're experimenting, but could you please keep the noise level down?
Kari: if you don't like it then you can sleep at Sora's house for the twelfth time this month.
Tai:...
Tai: Kari!
Kari: Well, it's true.
(At this second Patamon flies in through the window)
Davis: incoming
Patamon: TK opened a portal to the digiworld.
Davis: and that's a BAD thing?
Patamon: I saw his crest fade away. He was talking about code left over on Ken's computer.
Davis: I doubt he's serious. But we'd better go just in case.
Kari: I'll call the others.
(While Kari makes the calls Davis is typing away at the computer)
(Kari comes back just in time)
Davis: (at the computer) Digiport open!
(Transportation sequence)
(In the digiworld Davis and Kari seem to have landed in an area near where Puppetmon's mansion used to be)
(The others appear in just about the same spot)
Cody: Now, what was so important?
Davis: We believe TR's gone Emperor on us.
Yolei: in English?
Davis: TP may have appointed himself as the new emperor.
Ken: What gives you that idea?
Patamon: he was talking about codes that had been left over on your computer.
Ken: I knew I should have deleted those.

(A large, dark fortress appears out of nowhere)
Davis: Call it a hunch, but I think we came to the right conclusion.
(The fortress lifts into the air and a platform rises up revealing TK in full emperor gear)
TK: Thank you all for coming here. I had wanted you to see the ascension of Emperor Takeru, but wasn't sure how to get you here. And Patamon, it's so nice of you to have returned.
Davis: Look, TV, when something doesn't go your way...
TK: It's TK! TK! Try to get it right, unless you can't even spell it.
Davis: We've all been through harsh times, but this is just a little extreme!
TK: When you fought Chronomon, did you like the design? I made it myself! This is not new. I've been planning this for quite some time. Ever since I 'borrowed' a few codes from Ken's computer. There was a lot leading up to this. What happened yesterday was just the straw that broke the Monochromon's back!
Davis: (suddenly realizing) You're the one who revived Arukenimon, aren't you,
TK: And it only took you one guess. I guess you're smarter than I've given you credit for!
Davis: I'm going to have to stop you now. Veemon...
Veemon: Sure, no problem
(Digivolving sequence)
Veemon: Veemon, digivolve to...
Exveemon: Exveemon
Cody: I don't want to hurt anyone. But I have to save the digiworld so...

(Digivolving sequence)

(appears as a larger version with shark spikes all over his body)
Poisonstingmon: Poisonstingmon
Poisonstingmon (with analyzer screen): I am Poisonstingmon, Stingmon's ultimate form. My Toxic Strike attack should take care of my enemies, if not immediately, then shortly with its poisonous effects.
Davis: Come on, Exveemon. We need to take control here!
(A crest appears on Davis' chest)
Exveemon: That's the crest of leadership. Only a true leader can posess it
Davis: Now that I have it, I know how to use it!
(digivolving sequence)
Exveemon: Exveemon, digivolve to...
( appears as a mechanical form)
Mechanoexveemon: Mechanoexveemon
Mechanoexveemon (with analyzer screen) I am Mechanoexveemon, Exveemon's ultimate form. My Mecha Blast attack will send my opponents to the scrap yard
TK: I'd love to stay around and fight you, but I have to be going. I have to meet with some potential allies.
Mechanoexveemon: What, and miss all the fun? Mecha Blast!
Poisonstingmon: Toxic Strike!
Paleoankylomon: Bone Tail!
Angewomon: Celestial Arrow!
(TK vanishes before the attacks hit him)
Davis: How'd he do that?

(later, back in the real world)
Davis: I trust you all caught TO's little disappearing act.
Kari: yeah, though it was pretty hard to believe.
Cody: If TK could turn evil like that, then how do we know it couldn't happen to one of us?
Ken: and how did he get the code? The first thing I did after I realized what I was doing was delete the code for anything to do with the emperor.
Yolei: Do you think that Malemyotismon is back?
Davis: No, the look in his eyes wasn't a controlled evil, it was an all-consuming evil.
Yolei: I meant as the "potential ally" that he was meeting?
Davis: I never thought of it that way.
