Chapter Two: Pain

By KellyQ

Kouji woke to the sound of thrashing and moaning. At first it took a moment to figure out what was really going on until he looked again to see Takuya thrashing violently in his bed. I've got to wake him before he wakes the whole neighborhood. He quickly got out of bed ran over to the deaf boy. It took a moment for Kouji to get a hold of Takuya's wrist's hopping that if he stopped part of his body from moving that would wake the deaf boy ... it didn't though .... only one thing to do ... Kouji got right on top of Takuya and slammed him down pinning his whole body down causing the other boy to cry out in pain.

The first thing Kouji did was backed away knowing that he caused something ... oh god what have I done ... he knew that he was going to regret this day for the rest of his life .... he could see it know 'Kouji Minamoto paralyzing an innocent deaf boy in his sleep'. Kouji was so deep in thought he didn't even hear Mrs. Right and the nurse came racing in ...

"Kouji! Kouji!!"

"Hmmm?"

"Kouji, what happened? Did you do this ..."

"It was an accident! I ... I ... I didn't mean to ---"

"Izumi," Mrs. Right said totally ignoring Kouji's tearful face, "get the rest of the kids out of here!"

"Shouldn't I stay ---"

"You've done enough damage for one day."

"But ..."

"Out!!"

Kouji just stood there transfixed until Izumi walked up putting her hand on his should turned him around and lead him out.

"I swear! I didn't mean to hurt Takuya! If I didn't try and wake him he was going to wake the whole neighborhood!"

"I know you didn't." Izumi said sympathetically getting a little annoyed.

"Then why won't Mrs. Right let me see him?"

"I don't know," she said with an annoyed look then closed her eyes, "now if you excuse me," she paused getting to her feet, "I have more important things to do than here your complaints!"

Izumi turned heal and walked away ...

"Fine! Go ahead! Hate me like everyone else does!"

She acted like that comment didn't hit her but it did. Her expression changed to sadness. I'm sorry that things have to be this way between you and Takuya ... believe me he hates it too.

Izumi slowly opened the door to see Takuya jamming his pencil down on the table with great frustration in his face. She walked to the bed took hold of his wrists shaking her head.

<Takuya, you need to calm down!>

He just glared at her yanking his hand free.<How can I calm down! Mrs. Right thinks it's Kouji's fault.>

<I know,> Izumi sighed, <I'm sure Mrs. Right has a reason for this.>

Takuya sighed too. Izumi could tell that he starting to feel a little lonely without seeing Kouji. He looked back down at this damaged piece of paper. That's when she noticed that tears where coming down his face.

"Ohh ..."

Izumi moved the tray table scooted closer so that he didn't have move his back but he could still hug and cry in her chest. She felt really bad for seeing Takuya like this ... why just the other day he was saying that he finally got Kouji's attention and know why he looked so sad.

Now this.

Kouji was not to far off though. He sat on the swing; the rain drenching his clothes but he didn't care. He just wished he knew where Takuya was and see if he was all right. Even if the brown haired boy was he had a bad feeling that Takuya would hate him ... that was the one thing that he feared.
