By KellyQ
Kouji looked down at this CD player really wanting to put the head-phones on to get away from the pain he felt. That's why he listen to music at all so it would flow through his ears making him feel like he was off somewhere else than here.
He really missed having Takuya around; it just didn't feel right not having him around. Sure. The brown haired boy was annoying but that's not what Kouji missed ... he really missed hearing the baby noises he made when he tried to get someone's attention or when Takuya slipped a sketch under his nose.
Sighing in defeat. Kouji sat down at the table took his head-phones placed them over his ears took the cd player, pressed play sat it down next to him turned his body so that his right leg was drawn to his chest and his left leg was dangling. He sat there for one moment slowly getting into the rhythm of the song when the music stopped; not again, he thought thinking that the batteries where dead. He opened his eyes turned his body and froze ... sitting across the table twiddling his thumbs, whistling was Takuya. Then it accord to Kouji that somehow he managed to turn his cd player off.
At first, Kouji was happy that the other boy was all right. Without realizing what he was doing he leaned across the table at the same time Takuya did then pulled away remembering what he did. The brown haired look at Kouji sadly.
"Ahaa ..." Takuya said pointing to the boy's chest.
"No, that's not it," Kouji looking away, "I hurt you ... you should just ignore me so I don't hurt you again."
With that, Kouji put the head-phones over his ears pushed play and sat in the position he was in before. Takuya frond, why was he ignore him? No one ignores Takuya! He took hold of the CD player and pressed stop. Kouji opened one eyes and looked over at the other boy to see Takuya looking a little upset ...
"What?"
"It's obvious mister 'know-it-all'! He wants to know why you chose to ignore him."
By now Kouji had both eyes open as Izumi walked up sitting next to him.
"Oh, look its 'miss-walking-stupidity'."
"Don't you dare mock me!" Izumi said angrily jumping to her feet slamming her hands on the table.
"Yea. Whatever."
The dark haired boy closed his eyes again reaching for his cd player; he opened his eyes again turned his head to notice that his cd player was missing ... and Takuya. Kouji slowly looked up to see that the other boy was really running out of the room with the CD player in his left hand.
"Hey! Come back here with my cd player you jerk!"
Kouji got up tore his head-phones off and started to chase after him.
Takuya looked over his shoulder with an evil grin on his face. He never had this much fun in a long time. He then stopped grinning when he saw Kouji running up with an angrily look. Whoa ... I better pick up my speed. Takuya kept on running but he was starting to warn out ... the boy's bathroom! Turning the corner he ran at the end hallway turned and dashed into the boy's bathroom. Knowing that Kouji was not very far away, an idea came to mind; he stuffed the CD player in his pant pocket and waited for Kouji to walk in.
Kouji dashed into the boy's bathroom one moment latter to see Takuya washing his hands.
"All right you jerk! Where is it?"
Takuya shrugged trying not to chuckle as he walked to the paper towel holder to dry his hands that's when Kouji noticed something in the other boys pocket ...
"All right! Hand it over!" Kouji demanded pointing to the boy's pocket.
The other boy just continue to smile thoroughly enjoying the moment but Kouji wasn't, he wanted it back before something bad happen to it.
"That' does it!"
Kouji took hold of Takuya and pinned him to the wall and reached for the cd. The deaf boy made a squeak when the dark haired boy put his hand in his pocket; by now Takuya's face was red as an apple and his body was a little shaky. He turned his head to see that Kouji's cheeks where pink as well.
After what felt like an eternity, the dark haired boys hand was removed and the other hand that was on the center of his back could not be felt. Takuya turned with a disappointing look on his face. He was hopping to have some with Kouji ... his little thought was interrupted by the lights flickering and loud thunder causing both boys to cover their ears. Kouji frond ...
"Can you hear that?" the dark haired boy asked pointing to his own ears as Takuya nodded.
Loud thunder rumbled again and the sky light up causing the lights to go out. Lightning forked again as thunder stuck causing Takuya to scream ... Kouji pressed his hands harder on his ears wondering what was causing the other boy to scream. The dark haired boy just watched as Takuya dropped to the floor shaking really bad and whimpered as they heard loud thunder. Kouji sighed and flopped down next to the other boy knowing that he was going to have to wait until they where found.
With Takuya it was a total nightmare. Every time he could hear the thunder and see lightening it was like he was reliving the care crash. He just wished it stopped; it dragged on long enough that Takuya started crying though. He knew that Kouji was there watching him, he was aware of it. Why now ... why?
"Hey, stop crying ..." Kouji said putting his hand on the other boys shoulder, "the storm will pass."
Takuya slowly lifted his head looking at the other boy. The dark haired boy merely paled seeing the pain in the other boy's eyes.
"Oh ... come here ...."
Kouji turned his body spread his legs apart pulled the other boy so that he was sitting between them. Takuya ... please! I know you're scared but just and relax ... please! This was starting to tare Kouji up inside; he never had to deal with someone tens and shaky in his arms before.
It wasn't long before the storm died down and rain started to spatter onto the window. That's it, Takuya ... just relax, the dark haired boy thought feeling the other boy stop shaking and started to relax a little more.
"Ahaa," Takuya pointed at the window.
"Yes, I know it's raining," Kouji said resting his chin on top of the other boys head pulling the other boy closer to him.
He slightly looked down at the bundle in his arms. Yes. Takuya was a bundle. His bundle that just let out a yawn as he rubbed his eye; and for the first time Kouji felt like he needed to protect the bundle that was in his arms.
"Good-night, Takuya." Kouji whispered seeing that the deaf boy asleep then kissed his head.
