Chapter 4
"…I guess," Legend said before Kath could say anything.
"Damn it girl! Why'd you go and do that?!" Kath snapped, glaring at Legend heavily. If looks could kill. Foxermon thought to himself.
"Well…seemed like a good idea at the time," Legend said, forcing a bitter smile.
"Oy…oh well…I suppose I accept too…you just better not cause any trouble or else," Kath muttered to the demon.
"I'm not at all threatened by you. What my master could do is worse. So what you could do is nothing." The demon said calmly.
"Geez, so calm even though she's contemplating her own death! I find that amusing." Foxermon said, raising his head and looking at Legend.
"Kay…" Legend said, not really caring what Foxermon was saying. She was too concentrated on the demon herself, rather than what was really happening around her. Foxermon rubbed against Legend's leg, but even at that she didn't seem to notice.
"So…what is your name anyways?" Foxermon asked.
"Well..I couldn't tell you my real name, as you would all drop dead." She laughed flatly, but Kath didn't seem to get the joke. She looked angry at the remark. "But I suppose you could address me as…eh…Me-ness."
"Me-ness? What kind of name is that?" Foxermon asked. "I would expect something like…Demonia or whatever."
"I'm not that unoriginal," Me-ness sneered, "At least I have a name no other demon would think twice to use." She looked at her claw like fingernails, and held them up in a threatening manner. "and if they did attempt to steal my name, I'd kill them."
"I'm not that unoriginal," Me-ness sneered, "at least I have a name no other demon would think twice to use."
"Very comforting," Secenemon said. "Now what is this crap that keeps on infesting the digiworld? Remember your bargain…" Me-ness narrowed her eyes.
"Hmmm… actually that's this disgusting matter that the eggs grow within…"
"Eggs?" Legend's eyes went slightly widened. "What eggs?" Me-ness started laughing with amusement.
"Are you all retarded, or what? The eggs. The eggs of the warriors."
"What warriors?"
"…You are defiantly not with the times. Obviously, I must admit… now…you see…there happens to be a rather disgusting I must say insect like parasites that are trying to conquer this world…heh heh."
"That's comforting," Secenemon sighed. "How do we get rid of them?"
"Mmm…you can't." Me-ness said, a slight smile forming on her lips.
"Mmm...you can't," Me-ness said, a slight smile forming on her lips.
"What?! What do you mean we can't?!" Kath snarled. "We're fecking digidestined! We can do anything!" Me-ness sneered at that.
"Obviously you . . . pathetic I must say. . . digidestined allow your pride to blind your reason.. . . heh heh. . . You don't see events occurring behind your back. Foolish creatures. You run on blind hope. It disgusts me." Me-ness said flatly.
"Digidestined aren't immortal," Foxermon said. "Though they tend to get very lucky because of their destiny, there's no doubt that their not immortal." Kath looked devastated.
"Fine…whatever you say…just tell me one thing…" Kath said. The smile disappeared from Me-ness's face and the same stone cold expression remained as she had previously.
"What?"
"I thought you demon things were all-powerful…you know…like it would take a huge legend …not you Legend…but a myth or something to get a huge power to defeat one of you…and you always just come back…why can't you guys just kill these things?"
"My gosh. You really are stupid," Me-ness said. "All-powerful. Feh. I wish. We are very powerful, indeed. But we do have our limits. We can only slaughter so many damn aliens before we start to get our energy drained." Me-ness smirked.
"…oh…" Kath said.
"Also…their stupid building, nest things keep on fucking up our power sources. We aren't just walking powerhouses, you understand. All that power comes from somewhere. Usually ancient power generators that were created by some species that was here before digimon. But nooooo. Those damn aliens start building their nest things in the generators, and their like wasps you know, they'll hurt the hell out of you, and there's so damn many of them. A couple thousand will inhabit a nest. Anyways, they start bulding their damn nests in the generators, and the nests get bigger, and boom. Hasta luego."
"Hmm…" Kath said. "I sort of understand now…"
"Yeah, well you better." Legend blinked and adjusted her ponytail as such.
"Well we better get to the nearest digimon village and make sure their ok. If them aliens can wipe you guys out then their history," She said, putting her hand to her forehead and looking out over the south side, where it seemed the black gook was spread out farther than she could see.
"So their probably not even alive…" Secenemon said.
"They may," Me-ness said flatly. "I could smell live digimon when I went by there."
"Kay…so…I suppose we check and see if anyone's alive at the nearest villiage? What digimon live at the nearest villiage anyways?" Asked Kath.
"…Motimon," Foxermon said. Audramon gave him a look of disbelief.
"How exactly do you know this?" Asked she, tilting her head.
"I've been down that way before. It was the first one I encountered. Quite friendly, really." Foxermon sat back on his haunches and scratched his ear with his back foot, then shook his head and looked at everyone.
"Dur…so we head towards that village…I guess," Kath said, looking at Legend.
"Aye," Legend sighed.
