DIGIMON TAMERS: RECONFIGURED

Disclaimer: Still don't own `em, still wish I did, still gonna get the next chapter of DH done eventually, still probably talking out of my ass on that last one.

Narrator: So Ashley met the others in the park, but when Henry arrived she issued a challenge to Rika. She had Impmon attack Rika in order to get Renamon out of hiding, then the fight began. Ashley and Rika both used a series of strategic cards in order to gain the advantage and it seemed like it was decided when Renamon digivolved, but Ashley digivolved Impmon to Satamon. His attacks almost took Kyubimon out of commission for good, but one unexpected attack from Kyubimon drained both their powers. I guess it's true that fights don't have a winner.

THEME

"Dark Beast"

(Leomon's darkness. Fight, Bakemon!)

(Jeri's home)

Jeri: I can't believe this.

Bakemon: Believe what?

Jeri: Believe what happened yesterday. Did you see the pure hatred in Ashley's eyes? Did you see how much she wanted Rika dead? What could make someone hate someone else so much?

Bakemon: The only thing I can think of is a deep grudge. Like she was deeply insulted or even injured at some time.

Jeri: It would have to be really deep. You saw how she instructed Impmon even when it was clear he wouldn't survive his own attack.

Bakemon: That is because she is new to Taming. Give her time and she won't let Impmon fight in such a situation even if it would cost her her own life.

(Cut to the Wong household)

Janyu: So, Henry, I understand you invited this girl to stay here?

Ashley: I have a name you know.

Janyu: Sorry, Ashley. In any case, I don't think I can approve of this.

Henry: Why not?

Janyu: Do I really need to explain this?

Henry: She had nowhere to stay. What was I supposed to do?

Janyu: Wait for one of your female friends to invite her to stay.

Henry: The females in the group are her, Suzie, who's in this house anyways, Rika, who she wanted to kill, and Jeri.

Janyu: And what was wrong with Jeri?

Henry: Jeri has a whole set of issues I don't want to go into.

Janyu: It still doesn't seem right.

Henry: Dad, you know how mature I am.

Janyu: That's one of the reasons I'm concerned.

Henry: (thinking) What does that mean? Kazu wouldn't… but then I also thought he wouldn't… (out loud) What are you talking about?

Janyu: Come on, you seriously didn't think I would notice all that memory being used up? I may be a nice guy, but I'm not stupid.

Henry: A nice guy wouldn't send his son's best friend away, possibly forever.

Terriermon: Well, at least it wasn't.

Janyu: Look, it was either that or let the D-Reaper destroy the entire world. Would you rather lose Terriermon again or not have anything for him to come back to?

Ashley: What's all this about?

Henry: He helped design the program which brought the D-Reaper back to its original harmless state. Unfortunately it also sent our Digimon back to the Digital World.

Ashley: And as for the computer memory?

Henry: That shouldn't be openly discussed around Suzie.

Ashley: Oh…

(Ashley starts looking slightly nervous)

Henry: It's all fantasy. Nothing I would ever consider trying. Most of it's physically impossible anyways. There's no need to be concerned.

Ashley: I sure hope not.

[Takato: Digimodify! Break activate!

Computerized Voice: We'll be right back.]

COMMERCIALS

[Impmon: Hey, whaddayaknow? We're back!]

(Takato's house.)

Takato: …So then when Henry and Suzie show up this girl challenges Rika to a Digimon duel. Both Impmon and Renamon are nearly deleted in the battle, but Marineangemon ends up saving them and Ashley agrees on a truce when she finds out that Shadowdevimon's killed the woman she was living with since she ran away. So she somehow ends up living with Henry, who, as was previously established…

Mr. Matsuki: Okay, okay. I only asked what you did today. I didn't ask for everything which happened to everyone today.

Takato: Sorry, I got a bit carried away.

Mr. Matsuki: Yeah, a little.

(Cut to Henry and Ashley)

Henry: Okay, now you know my little secret, so please tell me what's with you?

Ashley: It's hard to explain.

(Flashback to a young Ashley sitting by her mother. Her mother has red hair and hazel eyes, just like her.)

Mother: Ashley, I'm not going to be around much longer.

Y. Ashley: Why not?

Mother: I have cancer.

Y Ashley: Cancer?

Mother: Yes, it's in my lungs. It's from the cigarettes.

(Close up on Ashley's frightened eyes)

(Flash forward a few years to a slightly older Ashley and her father after her mother's funeral. Her father has blond hair and is only seen from the back or in hand close-ups.)

Ashley: It's your fault.

Father: What?

Ashley: You could have stopped her, but you were too busy with your job. You could have noticed us instead of just your job.

Father: That's not true.

Ashley: You were never there for me.

Father: What are you talking about?

Ashley: Mom told me that you were called into work on the day I was born.

Father: Ashley, you may not realise it, but I have a very important job.

Ashley: More important than your own daughter? What do you do, save the world?

Father: I can't tell you what I…

Ashley: Skip it. If you had been around more you would have known she never smoked without this…

(Ashley angrily slams down a silver lighter)

Ashley: …and you would have taken it away from her. I hate you.

(Ashley runs out the door)

Father: Ashley, wait!

(He sees that she's gone, picks up the lighter and flicks it open, then closes it.)

(end flashback)

Henry: That explains how you got onto the streets, but not why you hate Rika.

Ashley: You know how Rika is now?

Henry: Yeah?

Ashley: Well, when I first got into school she was in my class, she was a thousand times worse, and she targeted me. I had been through a lot just weeks earlier and I instantly took on a hatred to her.

Janyu: Time for bed.

Henry: See you in the morning.

Ashley: See you.

(The next day Henry is on the phone)

Henry: Why are we going to the park again?

Takato: It's the most convenient meeting place. You found out anything about Ashley?

Henry: Well, her mother died just weeks before she was supposed to start school and she ran away, Rika was a bully back then and made her life a living hell. That's about it.

Takato: Okay, see you in the park.

Henry: See ya.

(Both hang up)

(Cut to Jeri and Bakemon who are already on their way to the park)

Jeri: Through here, it's a shortcut.

Bakemon: If you insist.

(They duck into an alley. As they walk they don't notice a digital field forming behind them or Shadowdevimon slicing it open)

Growling noise

Jeri: Bakemon, was that you?

Bakemon: No.

Jeri: Then…

(Jeri turns around and sees a shadowy figure emerge from the field)

Jeri: Shit! Bakemon, run!

Bakemon: I can't, I don't have legs.

Jeri: Then hurry up. We've got something after us, and it seems pissed!

(without thinking, Jeri turns down another alley in order to throw the pursuer off.)

Jeri: That should do it.

(The figure turns into the same alley)

Jeri: SHIT!

(Jeri sees that she's running towards a dead end.)

Jeri: I'm fucked!

(Jeri then turns around as her pursuer comes into the light and reveals…)

Jeri: Leomon?

Leomon: Fist of the Beast King!

(The attack flies straight towards Jeri's head)

[Guilmon: Time for a snack, but we'll be back]

COMMERCIAL[(Spinning logo)

C Narrator: Next time on Digimon

(Image: Shadowdevimon standing over Mr and Mrs Matsuki's fallen bodies)

C Narrator: Shadowdevimon's gone too far.

Takato: NO!

C Narrator: And Takato's not taking anymore.

Takato: Growlmon, destroy him by any means nessecary.

(Image: Growlmon changes straight into Megidramon)

C Narrator: But will the solution be worse than the threat?

Rika: Not again!

C Narrator: Find out next time on an all new Digimon.

[Terriermon: Momentai, we're back.]

(Reshot of the past few seconds of the show)

(A/N: Don't you hate how they do that like we have the attention span of two year olds?)

(Bakemon floats to Jeri's side)

Bakemon: Dark Claw!

(The two attacks collide and cencel each other out)

Jeri: It's no good. Leomon, even in this state, is a Vaccine type.

Leomon: That's right, so why don't you just give up now?

Bakemon: I have to protect Jeri no matter what.

Jeri: (thinking) Bakemon aren't known for their strength so… (out loud) Digimodify! Power activate!

Bakemon: Thanks. Dark Claw!

(The attack hits Leomon)

Leomon: Lion Sword!

(He slashes at Bakemon)

(Bakemon is thrown back)

Jeri: Maybe this will work better. Digimodify! Reprogramming activate!

(Bakemon develops a grey glow around him)

Bakemon: Let's try this now. Dark Claw!

(The attack hits and damages Leomon much more severely than before)

Leomon: Fist of the Beast King!

(The attack barely phases the powered up Bakemon)

Bakemon: Now to end this. Evil…

Jeri: No, don't!

Bakemon: Why not?

Jeri: I've seen a Leomon deleted before. I didn't like it.

Bakemon: Fine. Dark Claw!

(Bakemon's attack hits Leomon in the head, shattering him into his component data)

Jeri: Not again. Dammit, I told you not to…

(A black stream of data flies out of Leomon's data. The rest then reassembles.)

Leomon: Jeri? What have I done?

Jeri: Leomon! How did you…

Leomon: That's not important. What's important is… what is that?

Jeri: That's Bakemon, my new partner.

Leomon: I've been replaced? With a Bakemon no less.

Bakemon: Sorry, but you were dead for an entire year.

Jeri: Now what? I can't have two partners… can I?

Leomon: I believe there is precedent. However, I do not believe that is in fact the situation.

Jeri: Then what…

Leomon: Didn't you have a brother?

Jeri: You mean Mikiko's…

Leomon: One of our true Tamers.

(Jeri gasps)

(Cut to another alley where a man and a woman are walking)

Woman: This seems like a strange place for a date…

Man: I told you, it's just the way to get there.

(Shadowdevimon appears behind them)

Woman: What's that sound?

Man: I'm sure it's nothing.

(Shadowdevimon moves closer to them)

Woman: Don't tell me you didn't hear that.

Man: I heard it this time.

(the man turns around to see Shadowdevimon slink into the shadows)

Man: That's not normal.

Shadowdevimon: Indeed not. Shadow Strike!

(The dagger made from the man's shadow cuts his hand off. The man collapses, with his remaining hand clutching his bleeding stump of an arm.)

Woman: No!

(The woman tries to run away)

Shadowdevimon: You're not going anywhere. Dark Entrapment!

(The woman's shadow turns into a chain with spikes on each link. As it ties her up she bleeds wherever the spikes are.)

Shadowdevimon: Too perfect. Such an opportunity. A two-for-one deal. Final Darkness!

(All the shadows in the area turn once again into a giant shadowsword. Shadowdevimon grabs it, then stabs it through the man's neck. He pulls it out as the man falls to the ground, clutching his neck and bleeding profusely. He then stabs it through the woman's chest and watches in a kind of sick pleasure as she tries to remove it. When they both die, the shadows go back to normal.)

Shadowdevimon: DNA Data Conversion!

(Shadowdevimon absorbs energy from the bodies of his two victims, then leaves. We get a good look at the woman's face, and it's Talley. (Hypnos employee) The screen then fades out.)

[Ashley: Don't believe everything you hear, but we'll be right back]

COMMERCIALS

[Takato: Heads TV, tails homework. Looks like it's back to Digimon.]

(Int. Hypnos building the next day)

Riley: Sir, Talley didn't come in today.

Yamaki: Do you really think I can't see that?

Riley: Sorry, Bossman. I'm just concerned. Yesterday she had that big date in the afternoon and today she doesn't show up.

Yamaki: I'm sure it's nothing.

(Yamaki walks out of the room and turns on a tv in another room.)

Yamaki: I have to find out if that creature's caused any further damage.

Reporter (on TV): …trial starting today is expected to be short. In other news, the killer Digimon which claimed the lives of Dan Ishonda and Carrie Migaya claimed two more victims yesterday. Talley Onedora and an unidentified male companion were found in…

Yamaki: Shit. I knew we had to do something.

(Yamaki goes into the main room)

Yamaki: We need to reprogram Yugoth immediately. That thing is a major threat. It killed Talley.

Riley: What? But, Yugoth only worked before a complete bioemergence. After that there was nothing we could do.

Yamaki: You mean we're…

Riley: Completely helpless.

Narrator: Whoa, that's not good. How are the tamers gonna defeat that thing? More importantly, will they all survive? Don't miss the next Digimon: Digital Monsters.

Well, some big clues as to Ashley's parentage in this one (read: the only people who wouldn't get it were still wondering about the Digimon Emperor's identity after "The New Digitude" or have never seen an episode of Tamers in their life). And Ashley's past is nowhere near complete yet. She didn't lie to Henry, she just omitted certain facts.

Yep, Leomon's back, but why did I chose to include Jeri's brother as a Tamer? Well, that would be telling plot-points. He will have a very important role in an upcoming episode.

What happened to Calumon? Well, he hasn't been much use up to this point, but soon he will be very important. Once again, telling you how would give away a major plot-point.

To anyone who was shocked by the brutality of Shadowdevimon's latest attack, I warned you that as the rating went up it would get worse.

Finally, I have never heard the name of Jeri's brother in the English version and it seems unlikely that they would keep the Japanese name which I don't know how to pronounce, so I thought like a dubber and gave him a Japanese-sounding name which could be pronounced easily, and started with the same letter. The result? Mikiko. If anyone has the actual English name for him, please tell me.
