AUTHOR'S NOTES:
YAY! I actually did a Chapter 2 (*dances around*) Hehehehe! Poor Poor August… she's been living with Kouji a week and is already getting thrown head first into situations with Digimon :p Heh! Well she's my character so I can do what I like with her ^_^ And I'm guessing you'll be wondering at the end of this chapter what the difference is between "Spirit Evolving" and "Spirit Fusion" Well "Spirit Fusion" is when someone fuses with a spirit rather than evolves from it…and the digimon created tends to have traits from the human…like when Rika spirit fuses with Renamon's spirit she becomes DarkLady Sakuyamon… mostly because Rika is a Goth and darkness is her nature…
…and yes Rika IS a Goth in the story…just thought it would be interesting!
That's pretty much all I wanted to say… hope you all enjoy this chapter…chapter 3 is coming soon!

LAST EPISODE:

JUNPEI: - While walking back to his dorm room one night Kouji saves a young girl by the name of August from three mean looking men and gains a long seeked for roommate in her. Meanwhile three men, believed to be the three Kouji confronted, were found murdered in the college grounds...

Episode Two: - "Big Garmmon on Campus"

It had been a week since August had moved into Kouji's dorm room and the two of them were getting on great, almost as if they had been roommates all their lives. Although August was still weary of a few things Kouji could tell that she was settling in fine, she even could stand his brother, which he found unusual...

...no one else could stand him.

Kouji sighed as he gradually came out of his thoughts and looked down at the blank piece of paper in front of him. The newspaper article he and TK had to right for their English course was due in soon and they had worked very hard on it, but for some odd reason he was finding it hard to concentrate tonight.

He sat back from the desk and slouched in his chair with a large sigh he then looked up at the hamster cage, which was stood on top of the desk in front of him. His brown, grey and white hamster, Huckleberry, was running around his wheel as fast as he could then stopped and walked over to the bars when he noticed Kouji looking at him.

"You have life so easy" Kouji grunted at the little creature. "What I wouldn't give to be a hamster right now"

Just then there was a small knock at his bedroom door, Kouji looked towards it as August slowly opened the door and popped her head around it.

"Still can't concentrate?" she asked. Kouji shook his head.

"I don't understand why..." he told her. "...I normally have good concentration but my mind has been wandering all day"

"Well both you and TK have been working very hard on this project" August replied. "Why don't you just take a break from it..." Kouji smiled and agreed reluctantly to leave the work...at least until later. "Anyway I'm off to grab a pizza for us"

"Okay" Kouji replied as August left the room. He silently listened as she moved about in the dorm then finally she left.

Kouji went back to watching his hamster as he went about shoving pieces of hamster food into his pouches. Then he heard a small bang come from behind him. Kouji spun around in his chair, but saw nothing. Thinking he was just hearing things he turned back towards the desk, but as he did he heard another band.

"Now I know I heard something that time" he said to himself as he got out of his chair and followed the sound to one of his draws. As soon as he opened it, the sound stopped.

Curiosity overtaking him, Kouji rummaged through the draw which mostly had a collection of writing pads and stationary in it, then as he moved back one of the writing pads he uncovered his D-Scanner, right at the bottom.

Kouji smiled as he saw it, memories of the digital world and his friends came flooding back to him. Then he noticed the D-Scanner was doing something unusual...

...it was glowing.

For some odd reason this glowing was attracting Kouji to his D-Scanner, almost as if it was calling for him. Without even thinking he slowly reached out with his hand and touched the front of the device.

Suddenly a surge of energy went through Kouji's body, making him cringe with pain. Then he suddenly let out a loud yell as light began to surround him...

"Hiya Junpei!" August greeted Kouji's friend as she walked into the local pizza place where Junpei worked part time. Junpei greeted August with a warm smile as he walked up to the counter.

"Hi August, what can I get ya?"

August looked up at the large menu hanging behind Junpei.

"How about a large pepperoni..." August replied. "...with extra peppers"

Junpei wrote down August's order and gave it to another guy behind him, he then turned back to August.

"It'll take a few minutes yet...," he told her. "...so how are you and Kouji getting along?"

"Fine!" replied August with a smile on her face. "It's almost as if we've known each other for years. He's having a little trouble concentrating on the English assignment he's doing with TK so I thought a pizza break would do him some good"

"Yeah..." agreed Junpei. "...that guy works way too hard sometimes, he's probably working as we speak..."

Unknown to them both Kouji was in a whole lot of trouble. He was trying to pick himself up off the floor after being what seemed to be shocked by his own digivice, but as he got to his feet he happened to stand up in front of a small mirror on his bed side cabinet, as he did his eyes went wide open as he gasped at his reflection... he was no longer himself...

...he was Garmmon!

Kouji felt his stomach turn as fear began to over take him, he began to shake his head viscously as if trying to shake off what had just happened to him but it was no good. With that he lifted his head high in the air and roared with frustration.

"Hey Kouji! I got us a pepperoni pizza..." August called out as she entered the dorm room and sat the pizza down on the kitchen table. After a few seconds August realized Kouji hadn't called back telling her that he'd be out in a minute. "...Kouji?" Once again she got no reply.

"Hummm! Maybe he just fell asleep," she told herself as she approached his room. She lightly knocked then opened the door slightly.

"Kouji...?"

As she opened the door wide she gasped and fell to the floor in shock as she saw a huge metal wolf like creature right before her. Her sudden movements caught Garmmon's attention, he glanced at her for a while then quickly jumped through the closed window, shattering the glass and landed with ease on the ground below.

Panicking August watched the creature leave then grabbed Kouji's mobile phone and quickly found Takuya's phone number on it. She waited for a few seconds as it rung then Takuya finally answered it.

"Hello..."

"Takuya! It's August..." August replied fast. "...I think you should come over here, something weird just happened. I went into kouji's room and there was this HUGE metal wolf like creature in here and Kouji isn't around anymore..."

"A big metal Wolf like creature..." Takuya replied in disbelief as his mouth slowly opened as realization to what this creature was sunk in. The phone's receiver fell from Takuya's hand and landed on the floor as he quickly sped out of his dorm room, leaving August on the other end.

"Hello? Hello?"

August just hung up in anger then she too left her dorm room in order to find the creature she had seen.

As she ran out of the building she saw Garmmon before her, attacking pretty much anything, which moved. As she watched in horror Takuya joined her and gasped at the sight.

"Kouji..." he whispered. He then raised his voice so that garmmon had a chance to hear him. "...KOUJI!!!!"

His voice rattled around the college grounds, making Garmmon turn around and look at them. August just gazed at takuya in shock as she pointed towards the creature in front of her.

"Are you trying to tell me that creature is Kouji!!!!"

Takuya just nodded, as his eyes narrowed. "But he should be able to control this thing..." he told her. "...why is Garmmon acting this way?"

"Well if that's Kouji he should be able to listen to us," said August as she ran towards the creature despite Takuya's yells telling her to stop. She slowed down as she got closer to Garmmon and stopped when she was about twenty feet away from him.

"Kouji listen...!" she shouted to him. "I don't know what's happened to you but you have to stop! You're going to hurt someone!"

Garmmon watched her silently, not moving a muscle as he saw this girl plea desperately to him to stop what he was doing. August relaxed a bit thinking that she had gotten through to Kouji... but suddenly Garmmon opened his mouth and a small spark of light began forming in it.

"AUGUST WATCH OUT!" yelled Takuya as he ran towards her.

"SOLAR LASER!!!!" Garmmon yelled as he released a giant beam of light towards August. The girl just screamed and cowered waiting to be hit by it but luckily Takuya managed to just reach her in time and push her out of the way. Both of them fell hard to the ground then looked up at Garmmon who was aiming for them again.

"Argh! Not good! Not Good!" yelled Takuya as he helped August up and dragged her along as he began to run fast. As they ran Garmmon began firing attacks at them each time just missing.

"Down here!" Takuya quickly said pointing down a narrow pathway. Quickly the two darted down there, with Garmmon close behind. Then the two stopped running when they realized they had come to a dead end when they reached a wall, which was way to high to climb. Takuya and August just turned around to face Garmmon as he slowly approached them like a lion stalking its prey.

"Oh, blasted to bits by my best friend..." Takuya said. "...not exactly how I planed to end the day"

Back near the dorm apartments a large group had gathered to see what was going on. One of which was Rika Nonaka who watched the events with interest as the small cool night breeze whipped through her long black hair. She pulled out her D-Power from her trouser pocket and looked at the device.

"If only Renamon was here...," she said to herself. "...then I could help them..."

Another breeze, stronger this time, whipped around Rika, but as it did she seemed to hear something on it...a voice...

"I am here Rika..."

Rika frowned as she walked as far away from the rest of the crowd as possible, then stopped and spoke with a low voice.

"Renamon...?"

"Rika I'm here..." Came the reply. "...but I can't come to you in physical form...I'll have to submit my spirit to you"

"Your spirit?" asked Rika. "But how?"

Another wind blew around Rika and as it did the tamer looked up at the dark sky and saw the clouds above her swirling around, then a light yellow beam shot from the clouds towards Rika and as it reached her it circled around her on the wind. Rika watched in amazement with a smile on her face as she watched this amazing display, she then held up her D-Power, which the beam of light flew into transforming her D-Power into an advanced form of the D-scanner, which was light and dark blue. Rika looked at her new digivice and a small smirk grew on her face as she saw Renamon's image on the screen.

"Okay!" she said. "Lets get busy!!!"

With that she raised her left hand in front of her. The beam of yellow light shot from the small Ariel on her advanced D-scanner to her hand, which it circled around, then she scanned the light with the small scanner on the side of the digivice creating sparks as she did.

"SPIRIT FUSION!!!!" she yelled, while scanning the spirit of Renamon. Then the spirit flew from her hand and circled her creating almost like a cocoon of light around her as the spirit began to change her appearance, fusing her with Renamon's spirit. Eventually the cocoon of light broke and a black coloured meaner looking version of Sakuyamon flew out from it with the huge crow like wings, which were attached to her back.

"DARK-LADY SAKUYAMON!!!!"

"Kouji! Please stop!" August pleaded with her roommate as Garmmon continued to approach them, but he just ignored her. Takuya growled quietly under his breath as he stepped in front of August and scowled at Garmmon.

"Kouji! I know you're in there, damnit! I know you can hear us!" he yelled as tears filled up in his eyes. "You have to stop this!"

Garmmon gradually stopped walking and glared at Takuya and August.

"Ta...ku...ya?" he said slowly.

"Your getting through to him" said August. Takuya nodded with a triumphant smile on his face, but his face then turned to shock as Garmmon began to roar loudly.

"I...can't...hurt...them..." he heard him say. "They're my...friends..." But once again the B-spirit took over and Kouji once again lost control. Garmmon opened his mouth getting ready to blast takuya and August with his "Solar laser" attack. The two just closed their eyes and cowered in each other's arms.

"SOLAR LA...."

Garmmon suddenly broke off his attack as a sudden beam of black energy flew past him and hit the wall beside him. The digimon looked up to see another digimon flying towards him. Garmmon snarled as this digimon landed before him. Takuya and August opened their eyes and gasped.

"Wh... who is that?" Takuya stuttered. The digimon turned around to look at him and smiled.

"I am DarkLady Sakuyamon..." she replied. "...and I'm here to help" With that she turned back to Garmmon. "I won't let you hurt them"

"So be it!" Garmmon sneered back as he got ready to attack DarkLady Sakuyamon. "SOLAR LASER!!!"

Acting quickly DarkLady Sakuyamon held up her hand slowly and called upon one of her attacks.

"DARK SPIRIT STRIKE!!!!"

Dark spirits flew from her hand and as the two attacks collided there was a huge explosion. Both Takuya and August looked away shielding themselves, and then when they looked back they realized that they could get away while the two digimon were surrounded by smoke. Takuya motioned for August to follow him and both of them quietly began to crawl away on their hands and knees, hoping they could get past Garmmon while the smoke provided cover...

... but that wasn't to be!

Takuya who was in front stopped when he felt himself bump into something... both of them looked up to see Garmmon stood above them once again getting ready to blast them. They stood no chance of surviving a powerful attack like that while up close to Garmmon, but both of them were so scared they couldn't move.

Takuya closed his eyes tightly waiting for the final blow, the only thing that ran through his head was wishing that he had his D-Scanner with him, maybe then he'd have a chance to stop Garmmon.

As Garmmon was about to fire his attack at them, Darklady Sakuyamon flew straight into his side, causing him to fire the attack high into the air as the two digimon plummeted into the wall beside them. Both Takuya and August heard the crash and opened their eyes wondering what had just happened.

They stood up as the smoke began to clear, revealing both Rika and Kouji, now back in their normal forms, lying amongst a large pile of broken bricks looking pretty dazed. Eventually Rika stood up and after gaining her balance she began to brush off the dust from her black top and trousers.

"You guys alright?" she asked takuya and August as they carefully helped Kouji stand up.

"Yeah we're fine, thankyou," replied Takuya.

"Don't mention it" Rika replied. "Names Rika by the way"

"Takuya" he then looked towards August who was propping up Kouji. "And this is August and Kouji"

"Well make sure you keep that Kouji on a leash from now on, okay?" Rika joked, before turning her back on them and walking off. The others just watched her leave before turning their attention to Kouji.

"Man! You had us really scared" Takuya said with amusement in his voice, it then became slightly more serious as he carried on. "What exactly happened?"

Kouji just sighed as he lowered his head in disgust at what he had done as Garmmon, he really was going to kill two of his friends and because of that Kouji couldn't even bare to make eye contact with Takuya.

"I'm sorry..." was all he said. Takuya realized that this was probably not the best time to be asking kouji questions on what just happened, so he turned to look at August.

"Take him home..." he told her. "...he needs rest, I'll create a convincing covering story to explain all this"

"Like what?" asked August as they all began to make their way home, with August helping Kouji as he as limping badly on his right leg.

"Er...does alien wolfs from mars sound convincing enough?"

When they got back to the dorm August helped Kouji to lay down on the sofa then got some ice from the freezer for Kouji's leg. As she put in down on him Kouji winced in pain for a few seconds before relaxing again after the pain had passed.

"How are you feeling?" August asked.

"Like I've been hit by a couple of large trucks" came Kouji's reply as he shuffled to try and get in a more comfortable position on the sofa. "That Rika girl can sure pack a wallop!"

There was then an awkward silence between the two of them before August began to speak.

"I know it's not a good idea to be asking you questions after what you've been through but... what happened? How did you become that...thing?"

Kouji looked up at August slowly and realized that he couldn't hide his past with digimon from her forever, especially not if things like this might keep happening. Kouji took in a deep breath as he began to explain about the digital worlds, how most of the people he knows on the campus were digi-destinds and his own adventure in the digital world with Takuya, Junpei, Izumi and Tomoki. August listened with great interest as kouji quickly ran through the basics, but after a while he began to feel tired and gradually drifted off into a deep sleep on the sofa.

August smiled at her roommate as she stood up and pulled the cream blanket, which had been on the back of the sofa, over Kouji so he wouldn't get cold. Then she left the living room to give Kouji a bit of peace.

Meanwhile Rika was sat by the window of her dorm, looking out at the dark nights sky. She then looked at her new digivice and smiled as she looked at Renamon's image once again in the screen.

"Fighting together once again...," she said before once again looking out her window.

NEXT EPISODE:

KOUJI - While we are all trying to figure out why the spirits Takuya, Junpei and I have are getting restless, Kouichi, feeling uneasy around Rika, leaves to find fun around campus, but after almost running into Kari Kamiya on his skateboard the two of them get more what they bargained for when they're faced with an unstable guy who holds up the college cafe, but is there more to this guy than it seems?
