YAY! Author's notes time…
…in other words I'm gonna ramble on for couple of paragraphs ^_^
What can I say about this chapter…except Kouji likes to hit things with sticks (*as proved by the first episode I wrote :p *) Kouichi's writing a new song about killer ferrets and that Takuya fans will hate me in a few episodes time (*read this episode, you'll find out why*)
Oh and I put one of HueStingmon's attacks in Japanese "Atarashii Yasashisa" I'm hoping means "New Kindness" ^_^;; Well I have a text file full of Japanese words on the computer so I might aswell use it!
Oh and Yolei makes her first appearance for all you Yolei fans out there ;) And yes…she's dating Ken :p
Oh well I'm off to spell check all this now ^_^ Hehehehe!!! (*Runs back off into the darkness*)

DIGIMON: The Pure Darkness

LAST EPISODE:

KARI: - When Kouichi left his brothers dorm due to Rika being there he almost ends up running me over with his skateboard, but when we decided to go for a cup of coffee together we were faced with a man who seemingly held up the cafe for no reason. With help from Kouichi and his spirit evolved form duskmon he was able to stop the man from doing anymore harm...

...but I wonder what that black stuff was that came out of his mouth?

Episode Four: - "HueStingmon! The Kindness Fusion!"

It was late in the afternoon and as always most of Kouji's friends were in his dorm room.

"Ack! You'd think everybody lived here" Kouji sighed as he tried to squeeze his way past Takuya talking to some girl he'd never seen before. Kouji looked at her and raised his eyebrow. "Excuse me, who are you?"

"Sonja..."

Kouji just pointed towards the door indicating for her to go, the girl groaned a bit grabbed her coat and left in a huff. Takuya watched her leave then turned around to Kouji not looking at all pleased.

"Awwwwwww... man, why'd you have to go and do that" he moaned. "I was gonna score!"

"No you weren't" Kouji replied with amusement in his voice as he carried on walking through the dorm. Takuya just folded his arms and pouted.

"I was..."

At the kitchen table Junpei was just sat there playing with some cards in his hands as Ken approached him and sat down.

"Guess what Junpei...," he said sounding very enthusiastic. "...It's been two weeks"

Junepi started at Ken blankly for a few seconds before he realized what he was talking about.

"Oh right...the bet..." ken nodded with a huge smile on his face.

"And if I'm not mistaken Kouji and August haven't even shown any romantic interest in each other..."

"But...But..." stuttered Junpei. "...the chemistry is there! Just you wait they'll do something soon..." Junpei turned his attention to where Kouji and August were talking a few feet in front of him. "Come on do something! Do something!" He then slammed his fist hard onto the table making Kouji look up at him. "DO SOMETHING DAMNIT!!!" Kouji just gave his friend a small grin and shook his head slowly. Junpei just groaned then sighed as Ken looked at him with a sly look on his face. He held out his hand without saying a word so he could collect the candy bars they were betting over. Junpei grunted and put two candy bars in Ken's hands. With that Ken stood up talking one last look at Junepi as he did.

"Pleasure doing business with you, Junpei"

With that he left. Junpei just groaned again and slammed his head onto the table in disbelief that he'd lost the bet.

Sniggering to himself silently, Ken gradually walked up to Kouji and August and gave them the candy bars.

"That's for helping me win the bet," he told them. Both of them took the bars off Ken but August looked very confused.

"What bet?"

Ken just looked at Kouji. "You didn't tell her about the bet?"

"Pah! Like I'd tell my roommate that two of my best friends were betting over if we'd sleep with each other during the first two weeks we were living together" Suddenly he realized what he had said in front of August so covered his mouth. "Ooops"

August just grinned at her roommate nervously. "Heh! I think I have something to do...over there...somewhere, I'll leave you two to your kiddie games" With that she walked off, leaving Kouji and Ken behind.

"And after that remark I don't think you ever will" Ken said to Kouji as they watched August leave them to join in a conversation with Takuya. Kouji nodded in response before Ken turned to him. "So I was wondering, do you want to come along with me and Yolei tonight to see a movie or something?"

"Er...I dunno..." Kouji replied, frowning. "...I don't really want to be the third wheel" he then winked at Ken. "Word has it that you and Yolei are getting on PRETTY well"

"Heh! Yeah..." came Ken's reply. "...But why don't you bring August along, you can be third wheels together"

"Well okay" agreed Kouji. "But the film better be good"

Outside in the college courtyard, Kouichi and Kari were sat together on the edge of the fountain. Kouichi had his guitar in his hand trying to perfect his newest song.

"The Killer ferrets are after me, the killer ferrets are after me, oh good god, they're after me..." He sung as he played the guitar... which didn't really sound much like a tune. He then stopped so he could adjust the lyrics on a piece of paper beside him. After he had done that he noticed Kari was being oddly quiet so looked up at her.

"You okay?" he asked. "You are normally pleading with me to write something cute and fluffy by now"

Kari, who had been staring at the clouds in the sky, gradually turned to Kouichi.

"Something's been bugging me about that guy we faced a few days ago..." she told him. "...About that black stuff that came out of his mouth...it reminded me of something I saw some years ago..." Kouichi remained silent as Kari continued. "One of our last battles as digi-destineds was against a guy named Oikawa, a man who had been basically possessed by an evil digimon named Myotismon... when he had no more use for him Myotismon basically shot out of his mouth..." Kari then looked at Kouichi with her bright hazel eyes. "...I think that guy was possessed by something and that was the un-natural thing we both sensed in him"

"Possessed?" repeated Kouichi. "By what?"

"I don't know..." was all Kari said in response.

"Hey August, we're gonna be late" Kouji snapped at August as he whipped on his coat later that night. August was just stood in the kitchen with the newspaper in her hand. "What are you reading about?"

"The article on that virus that's been sweeping around campus these past few days" came August's reply. "It's killed almost 5 students so far... the symptoms of it are a really bad cough, bleeding from the nose, shivering, fever...Oooh nasty!"

Kouji looked over Augusts shoulder to look at the article himself and after a few seconds he gave out a huge sigh. "We really need to think about getting another newspaper...this one never has any good news in it" He then snatched the paper off August and looked at her.

"Okay! Okay! I'll get ready! Geez!"

Meanwhile in the local hospital down the road the doctors were running around not knowing what to do about the virus at the college. One of the Doctors, Dr. Teshki, was examine one of the students, a boy, who had come down with this mystery virus. With a sigh he sat back in his chair and looked at the boy, who was laying on the bed unconscious. As he did the Nurse walked in.

"Anything...?" she asked. The Doctor shook his head.

"I can't find the cause or anything" he replied. "And the virus isn't transmitted from one person to another through sneezing or coughing...a lot of the roommates of these kids are fine, it's almost as if they were...chosen to get the virus"

"Is that even possible?" asked the Nurse.

"It is if someone on the campus has created this virus and used it against certain people, kinda like a biological weapon of sorts" He then went back to looking at the boy, watching his chest move slowly as he breathed. "But who would be cold-hearted enough to do it?"

Night seemed to fall very fast these days and they were getting colder, which Kouji, August, Ken and Yolei felt as they walked home from the movie theatre. The sky was overcast with clouds, which just seemed to make the world less alive without the sparkling stars and moon up there. As they walked through a nearby park the dark shadow flew overhead. He then spotted a tree full of crows, which were resting for the night, so flew towards them.

"It's so cold," Moaned August as she rubbed her hands together trying to keep warm. Kouji just shook her head at her.

"I knew you should have taken a thicker jacket," he told her. With that he took off his coat and put it around her, August looked up at her friend with a questioning look on her face. Kouji just smiled, telling her that he was fine without his coat. Both turned back to look at Ken and Yolei who were in front of them now both stood still in the middle of the street kissing.

"Hey! Get a room you two!" Kouji shouted to them. Ken just looked at him and pulled a face.

Just then there was a loud cawing coming from a nearby tree in front of them, which caught their attention. Suddenly a black flock of crows flew out of the tree in a panic flying straight past the four friends.

"I wonder what was up with them" wondered August. Then came a more louder, sinister cawing from the tree. The friends all swallowed hard as they turned around nervously. Out of the tree jumped a huge ferocious looking crow monster. It had huge black wings coming out of it's back and the sharpest looking claws on it's hands and feet.

"Is it ... a digimon?" asked Yolei.

"I don't think it is," replied Ken as he stood slightly in front of Yolei to protect her.

"CAWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!" screamed the crow monster as it suddenly began running towards them. Ken and Kouji signalled for the girls to run away and as they did the crow monster attempted to swipe his claws though the two boys luckily they both dived to opposite parts of the path so its claws just missed them.

"Argh! What are we going to do?" cried out Ken to Kouji. "If you can't spirit evolve we're toast"

"We're just gonna have to defeat this creature by ourselves" Kouji replied. He grabbed two large branches and threw one to Ken. Both boys jumped to their feet and began hitting the creature with them as hard as they could, but the creature didn't even seem to feel any of the blows, it just stood there.

"That is IT!!!" snapped Kouji as ran towards the creature, he jumped up high and gave a strong blow with the branch to the side of the creatures head, twisting it's neck. Kouji landed back onto the ground, convinced that would have finished it off...but he was wrong. The creature just cawed with anger as his neck gradually twisted back around, the creature then glared down at Kouji.

"Ah nuts!" Kouji snapped as he tried to run away from the creature, but it easily grasped hold of Kouji's neck and held him high up into the air. kouji tried to struggle free but the more he did the tighter the crow monsters grasp got.

"HEY! LET HIM GO!!!" yelled Ken as he began hitting the creatures back, but it just as easily picked Ken up by his neck and did the same as he was doing to Kouji.

The girls watched in horror as they saw the giant monster chocking the life out of their friends.

"That's it!" snapped Yolei, clenching her fist. "Time we went into action, come on!"

With that she ran off with August following close behind. The two of them picked up various large branches which Yolei set on fire with a lighter the two then ran towards the crow monster and began waving the fire engulfed branches at it, trying to warn it off.

"GET BACK AND LET OUR FRIENDS GO!!!!" Yolei yelled. The crow monster stepped back a few paces nervously, then did what Yolei asked...

...he let their friends go. Both Ken and Kouji plummeted to the ground, both landing on the hard ground knocking the wind out of them. As they lay there struggling to get back up on their feet the crow monster swiped at the girls causing them to fly onto the grass beside the path.

"I've had enough of this..." growled Ken as he pushed his body off the floor with his arms. "...this kind of madness has gone on long enough! I'm NOT going to risk losing my friends to some over grown bird!" Suddenly Ken closed his eyes and threw is head high into the air, tears flying from his eyes. "WOOOOOOOORMOOOOOOON!!!!!"

Ken's voice echoed around the park and nearby buildings as a strong wind began to blow around them. Above them the dark clouds had began to look unstable, swirling around vigorously. Ken's eyes narrowed, for some odd reason he knew what was going on so he stood up and held his Black D-3 high up into the air. The wind began circling around Ken as a green beam shot from the sky into his D-3, changing it into a dark green Advanced D-Scanner. Ken looked at the screen on it and saw Wormmon's image.

"Now it's my turn!" he sneered. With that he held his hand up in front of him as the green beam shot from the Ariel on his Advanced D-Scanner and circled around his hand, he then scanned the light, causing green sparks to fly from it.

"SPIRIT FUSION!!!!" he yelled as he finished scanning the light, the light then circled around him creating a cocoon of green light which helped him fuse with Wormmon's spirit gradually turning him into what looked like to be Stingmon except he had Ken's hair, some sort of mask coming from under his helmet which was shorter than that of stingmon's, he was holding a shield with the crest of Kindness engraved on it and had a lot less armour, he was also different shades of green from head to toe, no other colour could be seen...

"HUESTINGMON!!!"

"Oh WOW!" gasped Kouji who had joined Yolei and August on the grass. "Another one of those Spirit fusion things"

HueStingmon stood before the crow monster and remained still for a while, before speaking.

"I don't know what you are...," he said. "...but I won't let you arm my friends or anybody else" With that his left hand turned into a green glowing spike and he ran towards the crow monster.

"EMERALD STRIKE!!!!" he yelled, but as he was only a few paces from the monster it jumped high into the air so HueStingmon missed, but when the crow monster fell back to the floor, HueStingmon quickly turned around and thrusted the green spike through it's stomach. The monster cried out in pain as HueStingmon slowly removed the spike and it stepped back a few paces holding his stomach.

"Time to end this now" HueStingmon said as he held up the shield in front of him. The engraving of the crest of kindness began to glow a bright green as Kouji and the others watched on.

"ATARASHII YASASHISA!!!!" HueStingmon yelled before a huge green burst of energy flew from the shield and hit the crow monster and with one final yell the monster exploded in a huge blast of white light.

The light cleared quickly and as it did Kouji, Yolei and August all saw a faint dark shadow fly off into the night's sky. Their attention was then turned back to HueStingmon who was also watching the dark shadow...then in a flash of green light he de-fused back into Ken again.

The group all joined together on the pathway where the still lifeless body of a small crow was laying.

"Hard to believe it nearly killed us" Kouji remarked with sadness in his voice.

"Well it wasn't really the crow as such..." replied Ken. "...it must of been that black shadowy thing that came from it...but...what is it?"

All four of them looked back up to the sky as they tried to think of the answer, but was they're even one?

"You were attacked by a killer crow?" Junpei asked, after Kouji, Ken and the girls had gotten back to Kouji's dorm and told him, Takuya, Kouichi and Kari about what had just happened to them.

"Yep! And it was HUGE!!!!" replied Yolei. "We would of been done for if Ken hadn't used Wormmon's spirit to spirit fuse into HueStingmon"

"Wormmon?" repeated Kari, and then a huge smile grew on her face. "That's so cool! It's nice to have Wormmon back with us, even if it is just in spirit form"

"I'm glad to be back" Wormmon replied from the advanced D-scanner in Ken's right hand. As the others talking amongst themselves about the crow and the black shadow Kouji looked up at takuya who was stood on his own leant against the wall of the dorm with his hands in his pockets. Kouji approached him slowly and then put his hand on his friends shoulder making Takuya look up at him.

"Are you okay Takuya?" he asked. Takuya's gaze just moved from his friends face to the floor.

"Yeah, I'm fine" he sighed, but Kouji wasn't convinced.

"Is this about that girl from..."

"No" came takuya's reply, cutting off Kouji. "It'll take more than a tall brunette to come between our friendship" He then just stood up straight. "I just need to go and use the bathroom" Kouji nodded at him before Takuya walked into the bathroom and closed the door.

Inside the bathroom Takuya just leant over the basin of the sink and gave out a huge sigh. Ever since about late in the afternoon he hadn't been feeling all too well, his stomach felt like it was doing somersaults.

"What's wrong with me" he gasped to himself. Then he noticed something red land into the sink and run into the plughole. Takuya's eyes widened slowly as he watched it, and then carefully stood up so that he was opposite the mirror. From his nose there was a small stream of blood running down his face and dripping onto the floor. Takuya slowly raised his arm and touched the blood with his hand, almost as if he was checking to see it was real, then he looked at the blood on his fingers and realized that it was.

Takuya felt a wave of nausea suddenly go through him like a bullet as he began to feel dizzy and loose his balance. Then he suddenly tumbled backwards hitting his head on the side of the bath knocking him unconscious as he landed with a thud on the floor.

His friends burst through the bathroom door after hearing the thud from in there and saw Takuya lying still on the floor. Kouji quickly knelt beside him and barked at someone to call an ambulance.

As Junpei and ken ran out of the room franticly to grab a phone Kouji tried nudging Takuya harshly and calling his name trying to wake him up, but it wasn't working, he wasn't opening his eyes. Tears began to run down Kouji's face as he carried on trying to wake up his friends as the others watched on in shock.

"Takuya! Takuya! .... TAAAKUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!"

NEXT EPISODE:

JUNPEI: - As the nights begin to get darker, Takuya's health begins to decline rapidly and to make matters worse there's a blackout around the college grounds and we are all left at a disadvantage against the dark shadow...

... can anything light up this dark situation? Or will we all fall prey to the darkness?
