The sun was setting by the time Ugasi crossed over the bridge that led back to her home. She stopped to stand in the middle and watched the soft colors of oranges and pinks melt into each other like two lovers. She started when fingers ran gently through her hair. Turning around Ugasi came face to face with Prince Diamond of the Dark Moon Kingdom.

" Diamond, " she said, trying to cover her surprise and fear.

" Serenity, " he smiled, still holding her hair in his hand, " Or may I call you Ugasi? "

She thought for a moment and nodded. " I suppose your spies have informed you about my quitting the team and you're here possibly to woo me onto your side, " she said.

" You've got brains in that pretty head of yours, but you're half correct. I've come here to covert you to become my princess, " Diamond said. He lifted her hand in his free one and kissed the top of her palm gently. Diamond looked back up at her and asked, " What do you say, my dear? "

" I say you better get away from her! " Ran out a voice from behind the two. Ugasi and Diamond turned to see Mamoru glaring at the other prince.

Diamond flashed the once prince of Earth a mocking grin and said, " I think that's up to Ugasi to decide, now isn't it? "

Mamoru's eyes narrowed, " If you don't get your hands off Ugasi-chan this very moment…! "

Diamond turned his back on the human and looked at the blonde before him. There was no trace of the same look Ugasi had given him when Mamoru came to her rescue from him in his palace. This gave Diamond satisfaction. If her heart wasn't as devoted to Mamoru then there was a chance for himself to win her undying love. A love Diamond would kill for. The moon haired prince frowned. Mamoru didn't know how lucky he had been to of had this girl's love. It was the purest treasure a man could be given and he had thrown it away.

" I'll come for you again, my beloved, " Diamond whispered to her. Gently, the prince bent down and caught her soft lips in a tender kiss. Ugasi's eyes grew wide as Mamoru gave a cry of rage. Diamond paid him no heed as he showed Ugasi his love for her in his kiss. Pulling away he smiled to himself seeing a faint blush grace her cheeks as he vanished from sight.

" That bastard! " Mamoru hissed as he stood besides Ugasi. The girl was silent. The dark haired young man looked down at her worried, " Ugasi, are you okay? "

Ugasi didn't seem to hear him to hear him. She was still in a daze from that kiss! It had been so tender and loving. Nothing like the lustful ones Diamond had subjected to her before. Her face felt warm. Was she blushing? Over a kiss? From Diamond? Yet, she couldn't deny she had enjoyed his kiss feeling his emotions.

" Ugasi? " Mamoru said, placing his hands on her shoulders to have her look up at him. Ugasi blinked from her daze and looked up at the young man looking down at her with concern.

" I'm fine, Mamoru. You can let go of me. Diamond wasn't going to hurt me, " she said, " He just wanted- "

" I know what he wanted, " Mamoru spat and pulled Ugasi into a hug, " Don't worry, you're safe. I'll protect you. "

Ugasi wiggled in Mamoru's embrace and pushed the startled young man away from her. Anger flashed in her eyes.

" Protect me?! " It was her turn to spat, " You mean like when you protected me from before? By breaking up with me? No, Mamoru, I don't need or want your protection! I've always been given everyone else's protection like I'm some weakling! Well, all that's changed! "

" Ugasi- "

The blonde interrupted him, " Mamoru, if you had truly believed in my affection and love for you, your future self wouldn't have needed to test us! You should have trusted in me! But you didn't! "

" You're right, Ugasi, I'm… I'm so sorry, " Mamoru replied.

Ugasi nodded, " I know, but it won't change my mind. The man I want to share my life with must trust in me, totally and I have to trust in him. That someone won't be you, Mamoru. "

Mamoru lowered his head. His fist tightened against his side.

" Is it because Diamond kissed you? You'll move on to the next guy showing interest in you? " He asked. Mamoru looked up at her furiously, " Is that it?! "

" Don't even think of going down that path, you son of a bitch! Don't even think of making me sound like some kind of whore! " Ugasi yelled. Her blue eyes narrowed, " But if you need to know, I did feel something when Diamond kissed me. Something I used to feel in your kisses. "

With that, Ugasi turned and walked away from Mamoru heading back to her home. Mamoru didn't call after her, but she wasn't expecting him too, really. As he had said before when he had first broken up with her, Ugasi had put her love for Mamoru in the past where it had first blossomed.

" WHY?! " Mamoru yelled towards the sky, at the future that was starting to change.

" So you're officially broken up, ne? " Daisuke said into the phone.

Ugasi nodded, " Yeah. When I came back, Rini was gone. That was to be expected. I wonder how much of the future had changed now? "

Daisuke shrugged as he petted Chibimon, " Dunno. "

The blonde sighed over the phone, " Well, it seems one can change fate. It's not set in stone, that's for sure. So, what are you gonna be doing tomorrow? "

" Veemon and I are gonna check out the Digimon World for Dark Spirals. If we work at it, we should be able to knock down a few before the Kaizer catches on that I'm working alone or before the others arrive to do the same. " Daisuke said.

" Think I could go with you? " Ugasi asked.

" I don't see any reason not to. Hell, we both fight evil and god knows I'd like the company, " Daisuke replied.

" Cool! I've always wanted to see the Digimon World and the Kaizer, " Ugasi said.

" If we're lucky, we won't see him, " Daisuke replied, " I've been his captive and it isn't pretty."

" No more then Berlye, "Ugasi said, " I wonder… "

" What? "

" Just how the Kaizer became what he is? " The blonde pondered.

" Yeah, I sometimes wonder that myself. Why is he doing this? What's to gain? He'd probably just torture me rather then answer, " Daisuke said.

" He won't get the chance with the champion of love and justice around! " Ugasi grinned.

" Daisuke! I need to use the phone sometime in this lifetime! "Jun yelled.

" Gotta go. Princess Pain in the Ass needs the phone, " Daisuke snorted.

" Okay, see you after school then, " Ugasi said and hung up.

Sure enough, Ugasi arrived at the Odiaba J.H. and walked inside. Younger teens ran past her heading home. Following the directions Daisuke gave her by email, the girl found the computer lab where he was waiting for her.

" All set? " He asked. Ugasi nodded. Daisuke grabbed his 'vice and pointed it at the screen, " Digiport open! "

There was a flash of light and Ugasi found herself sucked into computer space. She didn't have enough time to observe her surroundings when she landed on grass suddenly. Opening her eyes Ugasi gasped at the sight before her.

" It's so beautiful, Daisuke! " She remarked.

Daisuke nodded with an approving smile at the view before him. The port had dropped them off at one of his favorite sights; on a cliff that over looked the Digimon World's ocean.

" Yeah, come on. Let's head out. Although the view is great, this isn't the best place to get pinned, " Daisuke said.

" It's either fight, surrender, or jump, " Veemon added.

The three walked away from the cliff. Ugasi noted that her friend's clothes had changed like he had told her about, but hers remained the same; her ao and shiro sailor fuka. As the walked on the blonde reminded herself this wasn't a pleasure trip, despite the lovely scenery around her and had to approach this adventure like one of her battles against the yoma she had fought before.

' Like the Negaverse yoma, ' Ugasi told herself, ' Deadly and strong. '

" Found one already, " Daisuke spoke up. Ugasi looked ahead to where he was pointing. A chill rushed down her spin at the unfriendly, looming sight before her.

" Okay! Let's go! Veemon digiarmor energize to Flamedramon! " Daisuke shouted.

With a transformation as cool as hers, Ugasi mused, the small adorable Veemon transformed into the powerful flamed armored warrior. With a powerful attack the digimon got right down to business and destroyed the spiral without breaking a sweat.

" Let's stay on our toes now that we've officially announced ourselves here, " Daisuke cautioned with a grin and the three quickly moved on to look for more dark spirals. The burgundy haired boy was grateful for Ugasi's company. He had never really been in the Digimon World fighting alone. Like his friend, he had always had others to back him up. He really didn't know what it was like to fight on his own. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why he was the Holder of Friendship. Because Friendship gave him power? And Holder of Courage because he had the courage to face new situations and become stronger?

" Here's another one! " Flamedramon announced and approached to destroy it.

The Kaizer sat on his throne watching Daisuke tear down his dark spirals alone. He'd only destroyed two so far. Only his digimon and that blonde girl from the day before were with him. There was no traces of the others incase this was all just a plan to get the Kaizer to think the team was splitting up and their enemy would lower his defenses.

" He's either very brave or very stupid, " the Kaizer remarked to himself. The indigo haired tyrant sat up straight in his throne and tapped his fingertips together, pondering to himself. " Now that Daisuke's quit the team, perhaps it is time to see if he's strong enough as he thinks he is to fight alone and still be worthy of his digimetals? I wonder if those who created this world, crests and metal saw this coming? "

A wicked smile spread over the boy's fine features, " Well, let's put the boy's courage to the test." The Kaizer looked over his shoulder, " Wormmon! "

" Yes, master? " Wormmon asked, quickly running up to his reluctant partner.

" Go fetch me a digimon from level D in my dungeon, " The Kaizer smirked, " And send it to fight Motomiya's digimon. "

Wormmon paled, " L-level D? Are you sure, master? "

The Kaizer scowled and grabbed his whip. Wormmon whelped and dashed off before the indigo haired tyrant had a chance to use it, " Rightawaysir! "

The Kaizer sneered and turned back to the screens before him.

" Alright, Daisuke, let's see just how strong you are, " he said, " Let me see the real you without those digibrats to hold you down. "

" I don't like this, " Ugasi remarked as she glanced around herself, " Things are too quiet. "

" Aw, I wish you hadn't said that. Never say one of those clichés that always comes back to haunt us, " Daisuke said.

" Sorry, but wouldn't the Kaizer attack right about now? " The blonde girl asked.

" Yeah, but he probably knows by now it's just the three of us and is conducting some scheme, " Daisuke replied, ' Can't afford to rush into the fire like we used to, Dai ol' boy. We've got to use our heads. Become smarter. '

Suddenly the ground shook, knocking the two teenagers off their feet. Flamedramon growled, sensing the approaching evil digimon sent by the Kaizer. Unlike what the other digidestineds always thought and stuck to of their opinions of digimons, some were just plan evil. You could tell by their aura like Flamedramon could. He may have been locked in that cave waiting for Daisuke, but he was aware of his surroundings and knew that some digimon were born evil. The other children were naïve and their digimon should really enlighten them of this, but Flamedramon was sure Daisuke had a sense of this already. He was his chosen after all.

" I guess this is it, " Daisuke said. He took a few deep breaths, " Okay, Flamedramon, no matter what the Kaizer throws at us, we can beat them with one hand tied behind out backs! "

Flamedramon smiled and stood ready to fight. A second later the digimon came into sight. Daisuke felt the color of his face drain as he recognized the beast. " T-that's a Mega Virus! " He cried. (A/N: Forgive me is some of my knowledge of the show isn't all that correct.)

" Not good, is it? " Ugasi remarked. Daisuke nodded his head slowly.

" I-I've never fought one before without the others. They're almost impossible to beat. Even with the others, " the red head muttered with wide eyes. He gritted his teeth and looked away, " I should have expected this from the Kaizer. To toss at me the one digimon you can't beat alone. "

" Daisuke, you're not alone, " Ugasi assured him, " You have Flamedramon and myself by your side. "

Daisuke shook his head, " No, it's not enough. I don't have that kind of power to beat a Mega Virus. Flamedramon's an armor digimon and I'm not sure his other forms would be strong enough. Sure his armor form is the most powerful, but he doesn't have the same energy level. I-I need the others… "

Flamedramon frowned with concern. He hated to see Daisuke upset like this. He had been so determined to stand up on his own, to prove to the world he had the strength to fight without needing to fall back on the others for support. That was how it had been always before in their battles. The other digimon taking over of what he couldn't alone. Sudddenly it wasn't just about Daisuke's need to become stronger for himself and his digimon, but Flamedramon's need to become a stronger warrior as well. He wanted everyone to look up at him for hope. So what if he wasn't an angeloid digimon of Hope of Light!

" Don't give up, Daisuke. I'm going to beat him. You just watch! " Flamedramon declared and leaped off to defeat his first greatest foe.

" Flamedramon, no! " Daisuke yelled.

" Rocket Fire! " The armored digimon cried out. The Mega Virus wobbled back a few steps form the attack before it lifted its clawed paws and countered attacked. The blow sent Flamedramon flying back and crashed into the ground, finally stopping in a grove of trees. Ugasi and Daisuke dashed over to make sure he was all right. The grove would offer them some hid away for the moment.

" Flame! " Ugasi said with concern.

" Shit… " Flamedramon groaned, slowly getting to his feet and ready for another attack.

" Don't, Flamedramon, " Daisuke said, grabbing his partner's armored arm and held him back,

" Don't. You won't stand up to another glow. You're going to get yourself killed! "

Flamedramon shook his head, " No, I won't. I want to get stronger. Just as much as you do, Daisuke. I'm going to get stronger for the both of us. "

Tears welled up in Daisuke's chocolate eyes, " Not if the price is getting you killed! I refuse to let you fight anymore. You're my friend, Flamedramon, and I- "

" Watch out! " Ugasi shouted, knocking the two down as an attack from the Mega Virus passed overhead, burning away the trees to find its prey.

" Buns, are you okay? " Daisuke asked.

She nodded and smiled, " Ducking out of danger is one of my specialties. "

The burgundy haired boy struck the ground with a fist, " Dammit! I'm only putting the both of you in danger! I'm so stupid, stupid, stupid! "

" No, Daisuke, no you're not. You're brave, " Ugasi argued.

" And what's worse is that Mega Virus won't leave us alone until it kills all three of us! " Daisuke spat. He stood up and faced the digimon virus, " But I won't let you touch my friends, you hear that you monster?! I'll use every last ounce of strength I have left in my before I let you touch my friends! "

" Daisuke? "

The red head looked over at Ugasi. She stood up. " What powers the crests of the digidestineds? "

" Pretty sure it's the will of the holder, " Daisuke replied, " Why do you ask? "

" And the stronger the will of that holder that powers the crest, the stronger the crest becomes and that in return makes the holder and their digimon stronger? " Ugasi said, " Am I right? "

" SO in order for me to become stronger, I have to strengthen my will, " Daisuke said with realization.

Ugasi nodded, " I may not know how everything in this world works, but I would say your strive to become stronger on your own, to test yourself beyond your current limits, has made you braver then you were before. And your concern for Flamedramon's and my safety as you strive to become stronger on your own has made your friendship for us stronger. "

Daisuke smiled and nodded, " You're right. My crests are a tool for me to use the power of my own spirit to fight against my foes and anyone who threatens my friends. The power to become stronger lies not in the battles, but in myself! "

" Use that power, Daisuke. Use it to make yourself and Flamedramon stronger, " Ugasi said.

Daisuke nodded and held his 'vice containing his crests. Closing his eyes he concentrated on his friendship for his friends, Veemon, Ugasi, and even Luna and their own for him as he concentrated on his courage to become stronger. To be like the heroes he had idolized as a kid because they were so brave and could take on the world and anything thrown at them, to do what was right and just.

The Kaizer, watching the battle all the while between Flamedramon and his 'pet', and of Daisuke's with himself, watched with awe as the red head started to glow with the two colors of his crests. Apparently the boy had been able to become what he soughted. A smile spread over the Kaizer's face.

" He no longer needs the others now. He's found himself. Pity the others will never be able to tap into their own hidden powers since they don't really work as a team should, " the Kaizer remarked, " Daisuke has become the strongest one now. "

' Just a little more time to finish gathering our new power and we'll beat the Mega Virus, ' Daisuke thought. He could feel his power, hidden away, but now released. It was warm and soaked into the very core of his being, powering every part of him, enhancing Flamedramon into another level and it would be there whenever they needed it, growing stronger. The red head smiled. ' All I needed was the will to believe in myself and the support of my two best friends. The support of real teammate who believe in me. "

Despite all of this, Daisuke could sense the Mega Virus getting ready to attack again and at the moment he couldn't move, least his concentration be ruined.

Ugasi looked up. The Mega Virus was about to attack now that it had found them again. She knew with Daisuke in his current condition, he and Flamedramon needed more time. In future battles this power could be called upon with ease, but for the moment he needed time for it to grow and if the Mega Virus attacked now, it would all be for naught.

' I hope I can use my power here, ' Ugasi thought, touching her broach. She nodded, ' For Daisuke and Flamedramon, I'll take that chance! '

" Moon Crystal Power! "

Just as Sailor Moon finished her transformation, the trees were ripped up. Neither Daisuke nor Flamedramon could move. Daisuke looked over and saw Ugasi, no, Sailor Moon about to stand up to the Mega Virus, testing her own power in this digital world and the possible risks she was taking if there was a bad reaction. Inside he knew that transforming was one thing, but to use her powers to attack was another. It meant a higher concentration.

Sailor Moon could feel her heart racing. ' No, there can't be a difference! There can't! My power comes from my own will! My own spirit! " Sailor Moon thought and held up her Moon Princess Scepter, aiming it at her new foe, " Moon Princess Halation! "

The Mega Virus roared out in pain as the strange digimon below it struck it with an incredible different kind of power attack and struck it down. It hurt…

" I-I did it! I can fight him! " Sailor Moon cried in surprise and relief. She turned to her friends and could sense by the energy aura that they were ready.

" Now it's our turn to finish it off, " Daisuke said, " Flamedramon, digiarmor energize to…! "

" Neo Mega Flamedramon! " His digimon shouted. The flamed armored digimon grew until he was twice his normal size. Red flames appeared onto his armor joining the orange as spikes on his shoulder plates grew. A long white mane of hair pulled back into a ponytail grew down his back under his helmet.

Daisuke gave a start as the goggles given to him by Tai glowed red and transformed. Now red flames decorated them. Daisuke touched them and smiled. It was symbolic of his own inner transformation. Sailor Moon smiled, nodding at him.

" Mega Rocket Fire Tornadoes! " Neo Mega Flamedramon shouted, taking aim at his foe. The Mega Virus snarled and fought back, but it was for naught. New Mega Flamedramon proved to be too powerful and destroyed him instantly.

" Yeah! We did it! " Daisuke cheered. His digimon smiled down at his dancing partner, who was swinging Sailor Moon in a circle.

The Kaizer sat back in his throne. So, Daisuke had defeated him. Against a Mega Virus all on his own. This might prove to be a problem. If Daisuke ever went back to joining up with the other digidestineds he might tell them the secret behind his new power. Then the force the Kaizer had seen today would only increase a fifth stronger in strength. At least the Digimon Kaizer wasn't that concerned about Sailor Moon. This wasn't her fight after all. They both knew this would be her last battle in the digimon world. She had another to take care of.

The indigo haired tyrant was torn in between wanting to strangle Daisuke only because he would become a bigger thorn in his side now that he had enhanced himself to another level or kissing the boy silly at how happy and utterly beautiful Daisuke looked with his victory because it made the red head stronger, more cunning, and more worthy to be his adversary. Then the Kaizer grew pissed because any victory for Daisuke was a defeat for him and the Kaizer hated to loose.

" Love is a funny sort of thing, " the Kaizer mused to himself, " I must draw Daisuke to my side!"
