Warnings: shounen ai. And Ugasi never got back with Mamoru after they broke up.

While Daisuke slept in late, which was normal for him on a Sunday, Jun answered the phone hopping it was Yamato coming to his senses and ask her out.

" Moshi moshi? Jun speaking, " the red head said in a sugar sweet voice.

" Jun, Tai speaking. Is Daisuke home? " The brunette asked.

Jun snorted, disappointed, " Well, duh. It's Sunday and almost noon. Of course he's home."

" Okay, okay, don't bit my head off. Wake him up, will ya? I need to speak to him, " Tai said.

" Fine, " Jun said and placed the phone down. Barging into her brother's room, giving Chibimon almost no time to hid under the covers, Jun shook the boy roughly until he woke up.

" I'm up! " Daisuke cried, slapping her hands away and held his head to keep the room from spinning, " Nani? "

" Tai's on the phone. He wants to talk to you, " Jun said with her hands on her hips with a look that said 'don't you dare spend forever on the phone in case Yamato should call me.'

" Fine. Out. Now, " Daisuke gruffed, as he walked out into the hall as Chibimon resumed his sleep on the warm spot where the burgundy haired boy had been sleeping with a happy smile. Picking up the phone the red head made his presence known.

" Daisuke, Kari told me that yesterday you quit the team. Why? " Tai asked.

" Basically I'm tired of hearing how TK should be the leader and everyone telling me how worthless I am to the team, " Daisuke replied coldly.

" Well, maybe if you wouldn't act like the way you always do, they might- "

" I acted like a jerk so they'd notice me! You all have families who care about you, but I don't! " Daisuke interrupted. It was time to let it all out and then maybe someone other then Ugasi would understand. " I've found that in the past when I tried to make friends or to get people to notice me, I simply don't exist to anyone! None of my so called teammates were nice to me in school and when I thought that after finding out I was a digidestineds I'd get some friends. Well, what a fool I was! So I acted like a jerk to get you all to notice me! Well, now I'm sick of the way you all treat me when I pretend. I'm done pretending and I'm done pretending that the others want me around. Who needs friends like them! "

" Daisuke…" Tai murmured as all of this soaked in," I'm sorry. I never knew- "

" Because I never told any of you guys, " Daisuke said, " I don't want you to pity me, Tai. You and the older digidestineds have treated me fairly. I'll still fight against the Kaizer, but on my own terms. Bye. "

Daisuke hung up before Tai could reply and redialed the phone.

" Moshi moshi. Tsukino residence. Rini speaking. "

" It's Daisuke. Get me Ugasi, " Daisuke said, skipping formalities.

" Boy, you're a rude one! " Rini remarked.

" Take's one to know one, incest princess, " Daisuke snapped.

" Rini, give me the phone! " The red head heard Ugasi say in the background. She muttered under her breath before speaking," Hi, Dai-chan, what's up? Just woke up. How 'bout you? "

" It took her mother forever, " Luna called into the receiver with a smile, jumping onto the blonde's shoulders. Ugasi stuck her tongue out.

Daisuke smiled, " Yeah, hey, wanna do something today? Hang out? "

" Sounds cool. Get dressed and I'll be right over, babe, " Ugasi grinned, twisting the phone cord on her index finger.

" See you in ten, " Daisuke replied and the two hung up.

" I'm telling Mamoru-kun that you called another boy 'babe,' " Rini said as Ugasi grabbed her light blue Sketcher™ sneakers that matched her tank top color choice of the day.

Today she had wanted to try something different with her hair so she wore it down with a white oriental dragon print bandanna. She looked up at her possible future daughter and gave her a hard look. This was a child she had to protect?

" Rini, you- "

Ugasi interrupted Luna to speak on her own behalf. It was time to tell this pink haired brat from the future a thing or two since she thought she was such an expert at fighting like a sailor senshi when Rini herself wasn't one.

" Well, Rini, considering how thing are going, Mamoru and I may not get back together. The last person I want to marry is someone who treats me the way he has. His excuse about his future self telling him to break up with me to protect me it and it just turned out to be a test to test out affections for each other, and Mamoru not telling me about this because we could have worked it out clearly tells me that Mamoru, past or present, doesn't believe in my love for him. That's not the sort of man I want to marry, " Ugasi said, " So if you want to tell him that I called a guy friend of mine a 'babe' then go right ahead. It matter naught to me of what he thinks since we're through. "

With that said, the blonde finished tying her shoelaces together and left the house taking Luna with her as Rini pondered the fact that she might no longer exist if Ugasi and Mamoru didn't get back together again.

Daisuke and Chibimon, tucked into his backpack, greeted Ugasi and Luna at his front door.

" Hiya, Buns! " Chibimon chirped, using Daisuke's favorite nickname. He smiled at Luna, " Hiya, Luna-chan! "

" Are you staying out of trouble, Chibi? " Luna smiled at her fellow magical animal friend.

" Trouble? Me? " He asked, battering puppy eyes at the dark purple haired cat. The other three laughed.

" Hey, you've got your hair down, " Daisuke commented as he just noticed the changed, " Damn, you've got long hair. "

" Does it look okay like this? " Ugasi asked, " I can't remember the last time I wore my hair down. "

" Looks good, " Daisuke smiled, " Different, but good none the less. I've always been a sucker for a babe with long hair. " (A/N: Ken*grins*)

Ugasi giggled and the two left the apartment complex. The weather was fair out and like Ugasi, Daisuke wore his summer clothes. Blue jeans, a dark green soccer jersey tee with his last name and number on the front and back, and of course, his trademark goggles.

" So what do you want to do today? " Ugasi asked as they walked down the street holding hands.

Daisuke shrugged, " I dunno. "

The sailor senshi of the moon laughed, " Well, you wanted to hang out and do something, silly. "

" How about the mall? " Daisuke suggested.

" Great idea! We can even have lunch in the food court, " Ugasi smiled.

" Can we have ice-cream, too? " Chibimon asked.

" Sure. Double scoops, ne, little buddy? " Daisuke grinned.

Chibimon nodded and looked forward to his double scoop of rock road with chocolate jimmies. The best thing about hanging out with Daisuke and Ugasi was that two always had to stop for a sweet. All the better for him he purred.

" Hey, isn't that Ugasi? " Ami and Minako looked up from the window display and glanced over to where Makoto was pointing.

" Where? " Ami asked.

" She just went inside that store with some boy, " Makoto said, " She's wearing her hair down so I almost didn't recognize her until she spoke. "

" Well, let's go over and say hi. After all, we haven't heard from her in, like, what? Ten hours? " Minako joked.

" I don't know if that would be a good idea, you guys. She might still be a little upset over yesterday, " Ami said, " We didn't exactly stand up for her. "

" Come on, Ami, this is Ugasi we're talking about, " Makoto smiled, " I'm sure she's way over all of that. "

" Well… " Ami left off as her two friends pulled her after them and into the store, ' I hope so. Ugasi seemed really serious this time. I wouldn't blame her if she didn't come back. '

The three located Ugasi in the back of the novelty gift store next to a rotating dance club light ball dancing to the music on the over speakers with the red head Makoto had seen. Luna and hiding in the boy's backpack with Chibimon.

" Hey, Ugasi! " Minako chirped at her fellow blonde.

Both looked over Ugasi's shoulder and the blonde turned around after spotting the girls. She crossed her arms holding onto her elbows. " What? " She asked placidly.

" Um…" Minako was taken back by the non-friendly tone in Ugasi's voice, "We saw you coming in here and thought we'd say hi. "

" You've said hi. Anything else? " Ugasi asked.

" Boy, Ugasi, what's your problem? All we said was hi, " Makoto remarked with a frown.

" My problem? I'll give you my problem. My problem is three out of my four so-called friends didn't bother to stick up for me when Rei was trashing me, that's my problem. I'll admit I'm so star leader, but I'm doing my very best to met everyone's expectations. But it wasn't good enough for everyone. It hurts, you guys, what happened yesterday to me so don't expect me to forgive and forget over night. Just because I'm a blondes doesn't mean I'm some airhead, " Ugasi frowned.

" Ugasi, you're right. We should have stuck up for you. You've been a good leader. Will you forgive us and come back? " Ami asked.

" I can halfway forgive you for not wanting to get involved when Rei was bitching at me, that's your choice, but I'm not coming back to the team. I need my space and time, " Ugasi replied.

" Perhaps Rei should see what it's like to be the leader. Maybe she'll understand what Buns goes through, " Daisuke spoke up. The three girls glanced over at him with raised eyebrows and worried expressions on their faces. He knew? But how?

" Girls, this is my best friend, Daisuke Motomiya and yes, he knows all about us, " Ugasi said, almost smugly.

" Yeah, I know plenty, " Daisuke said with a slight smirk, " Me and Ugasi have a lot in common."

Ugasi looked at her watched, " Well, if we want any lunch we better get going, Dai-chan."

" Right, " the red head nodded as he picked up his backpack.

The blonde turned to the other sailor senshi, " See ya around, girls. "

The three watched the two leave. " I think you were right, Ami, " Makoto said, " She's not coming back to the team anytime soon. "

The blue haired girl sighed and massaged her temples, " And this couldn't of happened at a worse time. With Ugasi avoiding us, you can bet she's avoiding Mamoru, which means she'll have no one to watch over her in case Prince Diamond or Emerald attacks or kidnaps her. She wants to do things on her own, but I don't think she's ready to fight alone. "

" So we'll have to keep an eye on her from afar, " Makoto said.

" Should we tell Rei? " Minako asked.

" No, " Ami said firmly.

Hiding in the shadows and undetected by the three sailor senshis, Sapphire dressed in casual human attire left the store and walked into the men's public bathroom. After checking to make sure it was empty, the young man returned to his brother's ship to report this new development.

" So Princess Serenity has left the other senshi? " Diamond asked with a pleased smile upon his face.

" Hai, aniki. Apparently there's been fighting among them about whether or not she should be the leader, " Sapphire said. He snorted, ' Bakas. What a time to worry about as whom should play leader. If they had kept the princess as the leader, they might have defeated us with her strong will. '

" This is the perfect time to act. If I can persuade my dear Serenity to become my queen, the earth is ours, " Diamond smiled.

" But we of the Dark Moon kingdom can take over the earth without that blonde bimbo, " Emerald sneered.

Prince Diamond frowned at the women, " Watch your tongue, woman. Remember, one gathers one flies with honey then vinegar. "

Emerald snapped open her fan and hid her scowling faced behind it. Sapphire laughed at the vain women. Vain and dumb. So unlike Prisma.

' Prisma, ' Sapphire smiled at her memory, ' why did I ever let you go? "

" I shall go to earth and confront the princess, " Diamond said, snapping Sapphire out of his thoughts.

" By yourself? " He asked.

Diamond nodded. Waving his hand he transformed his prince attire to that of elegant earth attire before transporting himself onto the surface in search of his moon princess.

Even Ken, or the Digimon Kaizer, likes to visit the mall. As much as he hated to be around large crowds of people the indigo haired teen enjoyed the hassle and bassle of the mall on weekends with the energy of the crowds not focused upon him for a change.

' Like watching a bunch of ants in an ant farm, ' Ken chuckled.

" Daisuke, let's go in here! They've got the best pizza around! "

Ken looked over his shoulder, lowering his sunglasses to watch Daisuke being pulled into the pizza parlor behind him. He didn't catch a look of who was with Daisuke, but it possibly Miyako.

" An even better past time. Daisuke watching, " Ken smiled and stood up to spy upon his lovely object of affections. If there was one thing Ken Ichijouji cared about, besides ruling over the digimon world, was his beautiful Daisuke Motomiya and observing him whenever he go the chance or the opportunity presented itself. Like now.

Ken loved to watch the burgundy haired boy's eyes light up with delight or the adorable scowl over his face on the battlefield. Or the way his nose would wrinkle when he was in deep thought. Like Ugasi thought, Ken was very aware of the two masks the red head wore. It made him all the more interesting to watch.

The indigo haired Kaizer headed into the parlor and looked around for the red head. He spotted the un-mistakable shade of burgundy heading towards a half circle booth in the back. The girl with him wasn't Miyako. Ken took a booth where he could watch them without the two spotting him.

" So what do you want, Buns? " Daisuke asked as they read the menu together.

' Buns? That sounds rather intimate for them to be just friends, ' Ken thought jealously.

" Dunno. I'm in the mood for anything, " the girl replied," How about the spicy cheese special? "

" Sounds good, " Daisuke smiled. The waitress came over and took their orders. Daisuke leaned back into the imitation red leather and rested an arm behind where Ugasi was sitting as the two chatted.

' Is he on a date? ' Ken thought, ' I thought he liked that Kari girl. This better not be a date. '

When Ugasi excused herself to use the restroom, Ken took this chance to walk over to Daisuke's table.

" Hello, Motomiya-kun, " Ken said, standing at the end of the table.

Daisuke looked up, " Ichijouji? "

Ken lowered the sunglasses and nodded. Daisuke gave him a friendly smile.

" Hey, funny running into you here. I guess even the great Ken Ichijouji likes pizza like every other red-blooded teen, " Daisuke grinned.

" May I sit down or are you on a date? " Ken asked.

" Date? Naw, just chilling with my best bud, " Daisuke said with an inviting wave of his arm,

" Sit. "

" Thank you, " Ken said and chose to sit by the boy.

The red head flushed a little of his idol actually sitting with him and moved an inch of so away to give Ken room. He knew the boy genius didn't like to be crowded. He hopped Luna and Chibimon would be okay. If Ken joined them for lunch the red head wondered how he could sneak pizza down to them?

" So how come you're not with your little group? " The indigo haired boy asked.

" Because I like to keep better company, " Daisuke said, " Hang out with real friends who don't… "

The Holder of two crests shook his head and looked away. Why would Ken care? It wasn't like the two of them were close friends anyway and Ken was a celebrity.

" Don't what? " Ken asked, interested as he rested his cheek in his palm. Was it possible Daisuke had quit the digifreaks' team?

' He looks cute like that, ' Daisuke found himself thinking. He blushed, ' Baka, stop thinking like that. Somehow I don't think 'straight as a board with millions of teenage girl fans' Ken would think guys are cute. Or me. '

" I like to hang out with real friends who don't hurt me, " he finished since Ken had offered. Ken felt a slight pain in his chest at the angst in the boy's voice. It wasn't the first time either. The indigo haired Kaizer wondered if it was from Daisuke? Was he able to feel the boy's pain?

" Sorry I took so long, " Ugasi said, coming back. She spotted Daisuke talking to another boy. She smiled. He must be Ken Ichijouji, the one Daisuke idolized on the soccer fiend and had a bit of crush on, " Hi, I'm Ugasi Tsukino. "

" Ugasi, this is Ken Ichijouji, " Daisuke said.

Ken took a good look at the taller blonde girl as she slid into the booth besides Daisuke. Ken noticed a strange-jeweled star broach compact hooked onto her jeans' waistline and concluded it was nothing more then a treasured accessory piece. Like Daisuke's goggles. She looked almost fifteen and probably in junior high school. Her smile was friend and her blue eyes were as emotional as Daisuke's. This Ugasi had the longest length of hair he had ever seen before too.

She wasn't romantically involved with Daisuke and considering their age difference and that she looked like the older boy type for boyfriend material, Ken didn't see her as competition in that department and decided he could act civil to her. Especially if she was Daisuke's friend.

" Hello, " Ken said.

" So, are you gonna join us for some pizza? You like spicy cheese? " Ugasi asked.

" No thank you. I just wanted to stop and say hello to Daisuke before I went on my way, " Ken said, standing up. He held out a hand towards the red head, " See you around, Daisuke. "

" Sure, you bet, " Daisuke smiled and shook the other boy's hand, hopping he wasn't blushing too much.

The blush on Daisuke's face was just so cute and the boy's attempt to hid it just made Ken want to pull Daisuke forward and taste those perfect lips of his. Ken decided against that tempting thought for now and left the table. With Daisuke gone from the team and with no intention of returning from what he had told Ken, the indigo haired Kaizer headed back to make some plans.

" He's cute, " Ugasi remarked, looking at her friend watch Ken leave. She stretched and asked casually, " So, do you like him? "

Daisuke's blush deepened and she sat up smiling, " So you do. "

" Um… yeah, " Daisuke admitted.

" Who doesn't Dai-kun like? " Chibimon asked from under the table.

" Ssh! " Daisuke cautioned. He twiddled his thumbs, " Um, is that a problem with you?"

" What? That you like boys? No, " Ugasi replied.

" Thanks, " Daisuke said with a sigh of relief and smiled at his best friend, " That means a lot to me. "

Ugasi smiled back, " You're welcome. "

Daisuke looked over and grinned as spotted their pizza approaching, " Alright! Finally, some food! "

" Yeah, I'm so hungry that I could eat a horse, " Ugasi added.

" I don't think that would make a good topping choice, " Luna grinned.

" Yucky! " Chibimon made a face.
