/*Have you ever searched for words to get you in their heart
But you don't know what to say
And you don't know where to start
Have you ever loved somebody so much
It's makes you cry*/
I walked over to Yolei and kind of stood over her.
"Hey," I said. She frowned at me, and I realized I was dripping on her. "Sorry about that," I said, leaning over and grabbing my towel.
"Hey Izzy," she said, closing her notebook quickly "What's up?"
I plopped down next to her, figuring I could get a bit of sun while I talked to her. "Not much," I said, laying down and closing my eyes.
Really, I never knew I was such a good actor. I had thought that when I came over, I'd be burning red and stammering. But I wasn't, and I was relieved. I didn't want her to know just yet, as much as I wanted to tell her, I wasn't sure how to. I'd feel awfully stupid telling her.
I heard the scratching of a pencil and Yolei's muttering and opened my eyes to find Yolei staring intently at me while writing something. It took me a minute to realise she didn't have a notebook, but a sketch pad. I sat up and looked at the picture.
I realised with a jolt that it was a picture of me she had been drawing. Trying not to wonder what that meant, I swallowed instead.
"Not bad," I managed to get out, putting on what I hope was a smile. *Not bad? Izumi, sometimes you can be so stupid!* I reminded myself to give myself a kick later. And then I realised I wasn't making any sense to myself. Shortly after that, I realised Yolei was blushing. I guess no one had ever looked at her art before.
Suddenly, Yolei shoved her sketch book into her bag and pulled out a book. Sticking it in front of her face, she pretended not to notice TK, Davis, Kari, and Tai running up the sand towards us.
"Nice try, Yolei." TK said. "It's hard to read upside down." She quickly turned the book around and everyone laughed. I was thirsty, so I went to grab a drink. Getting two sodas, then handing Yolei one, I asked if I could see her drawings. I thought everyone was out of hearing, but Mimi apparently heard me.
"You draw?" she asked Yolei keenly, "Can I see?" She turned red again, and I knew she must be sensitive about her art. *Good one, Izumi* I thought to myself. I threw Yolei a playfully apologetic look and Yolei grinned at me. *Gods, she has a beautiful smile...* I noticed.
"It's okay, Izzy. You can all look at my drawings if you like."
/*Have you ever needed something so bad
You can't sleep at night
Have you ever tried to find the words
But they don't come out right
Have you ever, have you ever*/
She was just laying there, reading her book. However, she kept glancing up a lot. Immersed in her beautiful drawings, I didn't notice too much, but Mimi did.
"It's hard to read when you keep looking up," she told Yolei. "What do you keep looking at, anyway?"
Yolei froze and mumbled something I couldn't hear, then looked quickly back at her book. But ten minutes later, she was glancing up. I finished looking at her drawings and handed her sketchbook back.
"You're really good," I said sincerely. "You should be an artist someday." She smiled and thanked me, then went back to her book. I sighed and rolled over into the warm sand. *So she still hasn't guessed. I suppose that's a good thing. Maybe. Not really* I sighed again.
"Izzy, come here for a sec," said Mimi, grabbing me by my arm. "I want a hot dog."
"Really subtle," I hissed at her. "I don't have any money!"
"Shut up," she hissed back, "because I'm trying to help you!" Smiling forcedly, she drug me to the hot dog stand. "I know what's up with you and I'm going to try to help you. Okay?" she asked me, looking like she'd kill me if I said it wasn't.
I gulped. "Mimi, I don't know what you're talking about," I said weakly.
"Yes, you do," she informed me, staring at me. "And I'm going to help you. Here's the deal...."

Any guesses? Let me know who you think it is! (And no, it's not *nessecarily* Izzy. However, the fact that he likes her is pretty definite! ^_~)
